It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

@VividImagination

Where can I buy bargain Christmas cards, wrapping paper, Birthday cards and paper, Preferably with free postage. Dsd is going to deliver all the family pressies for me so I need to get going!
I went into sainsbury's the other day and noticed they had some reduced and also on 3 for 2.
IggyAce · 29/11/2020 14:04

@purplepandas my dh is a wedding photographer and he has this camera harness it certainly isnt a bargain but it is a thing of beauty. My dh has had his several years and it’s still like new. The website I’ve linked you to does some good books landscape photographers guide to North Yorkshire plus various other titles. My dh has a couple and he rates them highly. I’ve had great service from this site.

@scrappydappydoo

Help - I’m a nightmare to buy for and I’m being harassed for a Christmas list but I can’t think there is anything I want. Person harassing doesn’t want to give a gift card as it’s not a ‘proper’ present Hmm. Probably a good idea though as I tend to spend it on someone else. Just had a birthday so swamped in the soap and bubble bath I like. Not into music, don’t wear scarves, jewellery or make-up, don’t use candles, no books I want (have a kindle). Don’t have time or inclination for ‘experiences’ particularly loathe spa days. Not a particular foodie and I don’t have any hobbies. I have suggested one of those charity ‘send a cow’ type of things and that has been firmly rejected because it’s not for me (well yes that’s the point). TBH I’m barely keeping my head above water with work and family and sorting everyone else out - I don’t have time for this crap.please help me with some ideas..
I feel for you Scrappy. I absolutely effing HATE this sort of thing!!! I’m now being harassed once again, for a bloody list for all of my children and my Dh too. I’ve found it difficult enough to buy for them myself but now I have to exert brain power for someone else who just can’t be bothered! The love and attention that goes on in this thread is heartwarming, I just wish my relatives put as much effort in to procuring gifts for my family as people do here. Sorry I’m no help Scrappy.
BigBadBox · 29/11/2020 14:31

@scrappydappydoo surely the present you most want is not to be harassed into thinking of gift ideas? Otherwise, some kind of subscription, magazine, coffee, flowers, something you buy regularly.

SnotRockets · 29/11/2020 14:31

@scrappydappydoo to be fair to the person it's no wonder they are struggling to think of something, with that list of things you don't want! And it sounds like you're rather stressed so it wouldn't be a bad thing to take time out for hobbies or relaxing! Would you be interested in a book club subscription, where you get a book and a posh type of coffee or tea every month? Or even vouchers for a restaurant, so you can test yourself to a nice meal?

margaritasbythesea · 29/11/2020 14:35

DillieDoily Does it have to be a new publication? If not, I love Jared Diamonds Guns, Germs and Steel. Fascinating!

SaltyAF · 29/11/2020 14:37

Try as I might I can't get 30LWQ2 to work with the Laithwaite's wine deal. Can't bring myself to spend 90-odd quid on wine.

scrappydappydoo · 29/11/2020 14:42

Yes I know I’m a nightmare to buy for Grin I would hate to have to buy for me too! But I’d be seriously happy with a gift card (and what I spend on is up to me) but it’s them putting restrictions on it that really winds me up.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 29/11/2020 14:43

Oh my goodness, the vegan hot choc bombes are so pretty, thanks @welshgirl666 and @CarrieMoonbeams! I'm a sucker for anything in a cracker! Have signed up to Cocoba for their discount too.

scrappydappydoo · 29/11/2020 14:46

Thanks for suggestions though - I already gave fingerless gloves from previous years on here. I wonder if a subscription would be acceptable. By the way I do read lots but on my kindle which means a non physical present Hmm

woodwaj · 29/11/2020 14:51

@scrappydappydoo they might just be wary of buying vouchers given the climate. I havent purchased any myself as I'd hate to give an unusable gift if somewhere went bump!

However I dont know what to suggest you do ask for 😅 a case for your kindle?!

TheSilentStars · 29/11/2020 15:03

@Sunshineskies

Nip + Fab have buy one, get one free on their site today. No code needed. Does anyone use these and can recommend a certain product? I’m looking for myself. Or are they more of a teen thing? They had lots of nice sounding serums, masks, moisturisers etc.
Nip & Fab is fab! The glycolic range is good for ageing, dry and dare I say wrinkled skin (like me) Salicylic is more for oily, Teen Skin Fix range is brilliant for teens and has exactly the same ingredients as far more expensive posh skincare ranges.
TheSilentStars · 29/11/2020 15:07

@SaltyAF

Try as I might I can't get 30LWQ2 to work with the Laithwaite's wine deal. Can't bring myself to spend 90-odd quid on wine.
Me neither- I looked on HUKD and it looks like it's been tweaked to not coincide with any other offer. I send my cousin a box of wines every Christmas so was jumping for joy at such a bargain, but twas not to be. Did it keep telling you you had already applied a code? It did me, but then when I tried the 40OFF code for £40 off any wines totalling £110 or more it carried on telling me I'd already used one, (which I hadn't as those weren't even discounted)
Yeknom · 29/11/2020 15:11

Not quite as a bargain as the Christmas candles but I've just seen these wax lyrical dad candles (there's a couple of other ones too, good egg and a mum one I think) - £4.99

WAX LYRICAL Super Dad Candle, Up to 35 Hour Burn Time https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08753GXGN/ref=cmswwrcppapifabccdlCON7WFbDAFP4B0

Cluckycluck · 29/11/2020 15:17

@SaltyAF I had the same problem yesterday but eventually got it to work. I had to remove the items from my basket, clear cache and start again. It then worked fine. If using a BLC you need to add it after the 30LWQ2 for it to work

PinkPanther27 · 29/11/2020 15:21

@scrappydappydoo it sounds like you might appreciate more time to yourself. How about a payment for someone to do a household chore that you hate e.g. oven clean, garden, cleaning, ironing etc? Or a gadget that would make your life easier?

MsMiaWallace · 29/11/2020 15:32

Thought I'd done then twitched & bought DS the baby yoda plush. It's £15.99 at Amazon.

anonopotomus · 29/11/2020 15:39

For anyone shopping the 20% weekend at H&M... Amazon are also doing 20% off H&M e-gift vouchers. So buy the voucher on Amazon and it gets emailed to you within 5 minutes. Use the voucher code on the H&M checkout page (the gift card box, not the promo code box). I just did it with no problem.

Purpletomato · 29/11/2020 15:42

scrappy - it is now possible to buy Kindle books for other people on Amazon so you could give them a booklist and they could buy you the kindle versions?

Lellyo · 29/11/2020 15:55

@purplepandas

Almost done here. Still got to get something for my Mum and also DH (who is impossible to buy for and had a very recent birthday). He is the man that needs nothing.

He has a camera he loves, any ideas beyond that?

@purplepandas what about a back lack to carry his camera in? Or a tri pod, or one of those remote control triggers which allows you to be in on a group photo as you have the control to take the picture.....if any of that makes sense ?
TheLastStarfighter · 29/11/2020 16:15

@HollyGennero there are strong rumours of an Apple discount tomorrow for Cyber Monday, but not sure if the Apple Watch 6 will be in it (I am also looking forward one.

If you don’t have a Very credit account, there was an offer there for £50 and ff a £150 spend for new credit customers. Not sure if it’s still in though.

HarkTheHeraldAngelsSing · 29/11/2020 16:19

Thanks for these threads they've been amazing. Have I missed deals on the Turtle Doves wrist warmers/fingerless gloves? Sad I remember seeing them mentioned in past threads but just thought of someone who would love them! Thanks.

ClaraLane · 29/11/2020 16:20

@Justyou We have an Xbox - it arrived earlier! He bought it direct from Microsoft, no idea how but I think they had a few in stock at one point and he just got lucky.

Borris · 29/11/2020 16:25

I've got home from work to find pretty much my entire street checking their outdoor lights work. I feel left out as I don't currently have any outdoor lights. I suddenly really want a rattan stag that lights up, preferably about 1m tall. But all I see on line are either out of stock or a fortune. Any ideas?

Justyou · 29/11/2020 16:41

Fab! Thank you- I bet he’s buzzing!

Just after my last message he got a dispatch email so hopefully in the next few days he will be the same Grin
