It’s nearly December, Father Christmas is busy putting the final touches to his toys on the workshop and we are busy elves preparing for a somewhat different Christmas this year.

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

Thank you @BalaamsAss and @IggyAce great ideas - it's a relatively new friendship group with a few different personalities in (I've only met 1 due to age and lockdown).
DD is not the best at thinking of what to get people, nor herself!

runningpink · 29/11/2020 07:39

Thanks for the tv suggestions. I’m away to take a wee look now

@Turnedouttoes I put a 30% off Pasta Evangelists code on the referral thread on Friday if that’s any good for you.

dizzygirl1 · 29/11/2020 07:45

Guinness World Records 2021 for £7.99 instead of £20 at Amazon

It's a great book, I saw it in Sainsbury's for £10 yesterday so I think the £20 start price is a bit over the top!

@Notlongnow1

For my fellow Molton Brown voucher sufferers, I have a reply from magazine.co.uk...

Thank you for your email!

We have raised this with Molton Brown and highlighted the urgency of the matter. We are currently awaiting further information from them or confirmation that the issue has been resolved.

Ah thanks for this update

I twitched this morning as Amazon have 3D puzzles on offer, my phone pinged as I had one on DD’s wish list, I was half asleep so swiped to buy 🤣. I must not twitch again as DD2 already has more gifts than DD1 and I can’t think of anything else to get DD1.

Can I ask about kinetic sand please? What do I need to go with it, does it need tools? Nearly three year old likes playing with normal play sand so was thinking of some kinetic sand but I've never actually seen it in real life so don't know if I need anything for it? Thanks all and sorry for seeming daft!!

IggyAce · 29/11/2020 08:47

Also are there any offers codes for Argos please?

Katinkak8 · 29/11/2020 09:01

@PinkDaydreams you do need some tools to shape the sand but most of the sets contain some tools. Personally we've found that the proper Kinetic Sand is better quality than the cheaper versions and is worth the extra money. Hope that helps.

Puffincrossing · 29/11/2020 09:03

pink kinetic sand acts like damp sand. You can make little castles and stuff with it. My dc have had hours of fun with it. When you buy some it usually comes with shapes to fill. Buy sand not rocks though, the rock set is rubbish!

BigBadBox · 29/11/2020 09:10

kinetic sand you need some moulds for it and I'd recommend some kind of tray to contain the mess.

Bsgetty · 29/11/2020 09:21

Just seen that Telestrations (mentioned on previous threads) is £14.99 on Amazon, the lowest ever price according to ccc.

For people who already have it - my youngest is 7, would that be too young for it? (Full disclosure - I got over-excited and have ordered it already - now just wondering if we can play it this year or if I need to hide it in a cupboard to avoid DH’s eyerolls 😄)

PinkDaydreams · 29/11/2020 09:31

Thank you for the kinetic sand help! I'll get the genuine brand sand and some tools. Fab!

1stMrsF · 29/11/2020 09:34

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl thank you for the Ordnance Survey code. I got an annual online maps subscription for DH, and I was beginning to worry I hadn't got anything for him yet!

Dolphintrainer · 29/11/2020 09:43

@CompleteBarstool. 😂 can you imagine!

Notlongnow1 · 29/11/2020 09:45

@pinkdaydreams

My little one got this set for her birthday and is so well loved! We are getting this one for Christmas as the box will be so handy! Ours is out daily and loved by all!

We have this www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06X6BY8TV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_H72WFbTHD6PNR?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 with extra kinetic sand bags.. The box is great because you can keep all the sand and tools in it. My girls plays with almost daily and has been a hit since last Christmas
