Thanks to @friskybivalves for the title

I think we might actually make it to 25 threads!!

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@ILikeBiscuits I have just bought 30 balls of wool. No one in our house even knits! 🥴

Will need to order some starting needles for dd!

DillieDoily · 23/11/2020 14:17

@Annie1290 thanks for the dressing gown suggestion- if it was a bit longer it would be perfect- has the cuffed sleeves I'm looking for!

Dolphintrainer · 23/11/2020 14:29

Really need codes M&S and Matalan if anyone sees or has any 💐

Jedstre · 23/11/2020 14:30

DD has announced she’d like a huge teddy. She wants to cuddle up with it so a nice, soft, cuddly one if anyone has any recommendations please.

teaorwine · 23/11/2020 14:32

@bridecilla, I used to buy a lego set, a page of instructions and required pieces in one envelope per day. Small packets of haribos every few days. My ds loved it

ILikeBiscuits · 23/11/2020 14:32

@Buckeejit, glad the link might be useful to someone.

I wonder if it might be easier for your DD to start with crochet rather than knitting. It’s a long time since I started crafting but I think basic crochet is easier, and more forgiving. Crochet hooks are probably cheaper than knitting needles, too.

Perhaps someone who knows more about this can comment.

LunchWithAGruffalo · 23/11/2020 14:38

Not ver festive, but some good deals to be had on robot vacuums over Black Friday. Just talked DH into treating ourselves to a eufy with £90 off.

Stil need to find a wallet for DH and a few fun bits for DS.

Strange request but I’m looking for a large avocado to go with my daughters oodie. I’ve ordered one which is 30cm and it’s arrived but I think it want something bigger so she can use it as more of a pillow. I’ve seen some on amazon but unsure if the quality will be any good as reviews are mixed. Has anybody also been on the hunt for a large avocado & has any insight?! I love the jelly cat one but it’s £38 for the 52cm one and I’m not sure I can justify it. Im possibly overthinking the avocado purchase

Muddlewitch · 23/11/2020 14:48

Argos have Echo dots for £19, all of their other Echo stuff is reduced too and appear to have plenty of stock here for collection and delivery.

weebarra · 23/11/2020 14:54

@Daisy829 , it is expensive but I bought DS1 the smaller Jellycat avocado last year after a particularly nasty hospital visit. It's lovely and soft.

Daisy829 · 23/11/2020 14:54

@Jedstre have you seen the large sloths on smyths. They are only £6 and have good reviews.

Daisy829 · 23/11/2020 15:00

@weebarra I think I might cave. She will love it. It’s still £47 at selfridges so it’s practically a bargain at £38.

lexloofah · 23/11/2020 15:01

@Someaddedsugar if you are on topcashback you can get 4% at B&Q if that helps towards the tree, not much I know but thought I would mention it

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/11/2020 15:07

Also looking for duplo. Wanting to find the police station for £20 or less

ClaraLane · 23/11/2020 15:18

My mum has sent me a WH Smith code if anyone would like it - £5 off a £25 spend.

TheLastStarfighter · 23/11/2020 15:19

@Daisy829 I ordered this 60cm plush avocado from Amazon (for me Blush) and it's due to arrive any day now. I can report back on quality if you like?

Doordye · 23/11/2020 15:23

Someone posted about men’s slippers a few threads ago - I’d love that link, ds has announced he wants slippers he usually prefers bare feet so I didn’t take notice at the time

Daisy829 · 23/11/2020 15:24

@TheLastStarfighter yes please thats the one I was looking at too. The jelly cat one is £36.95 so actually not much more expensive but I’d definitely be interested to hear about the amazon one plse.

JuiceyBetty · 23/11/2020 15:24

Has anyone got a spare code for ASOS please? I’d be very grateful. Thanks.

HettyPain · 23/11/2020 15:33

Those of you looking for an iPad might want to check out Costco? They have one as a Black Friday week hot deal. It says starting from £399.99. I have no idea if that is a good price! www.costco.co.uk/Computers/iPad-Tablets/Apple-iPad-2020-102-Inch-WiFi-128GB/p/iPad10.22020128GB

CompleteBarstool · 23/11/2020 15:53

Online Home Shop (which is where the weighted blankets are from) have an under £5 sale - there are lots of teddy fleece blankets and patterned and plain throws for 1.99-3.99 (including galaxy/star constellation, puppies or kittens, Nordic pattern)
NB . check the sizes though as I think they're quite small

VividImagination · 23/11/2020 15:59

PinkDaydreams · 23/11/2020 16:09

@JuiceyBetty

Has anyone got a spare code for ASOS please? I’d be very grateful. Thanks.
ASOS 20% off coats 7-9pm tonight with code GOTLAYERS
Chocolateteabag · 23/11/2020 16:09

@buckeejit - Lots of people will suggest wooden or bamboo knitting needles are best to learn on as the wool is less "slippy", personally I find circular needles are easier as you don't have the long bits to contend with.
4.5 to 5mm with an 80cm length like these would be useful

Crochet hoods - get the soft grip ones - like these in a 4.5 or 5 - you can get sets of all the sizes but if you are using DK or Aran yarn - you'll only need 2-3 (4 - 4.5 - 5)

Then get on to Ravelry - the Mumsnet of Knitting & Crochet!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 23/11/2020 16:16

Try SAVEMORE on ASOS although they are muscling around with their codes at the moment
