Thanks to @friskybivalves for the title

I think we might actually make it to 25 threads!!

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

@bridecilla Tiger and The Works often have quite good advent calendar fillers. In the past I've put in things like make your own Xmas decoration kit, little stationery items, Lego figure bags, hot chocolate spoon etc. I put in a small chocolate every day and either a small toy OR a slip of paper with an activity. Often it's something we'd do anyway, but the dc seem to really like it! It's harder this year, but in the past I've put in things like panto trip, Xmas market etc. Also things like making mince pies, gingerbread house, putting up the Christmas tree, watching a Christmas film etc.

queenoftheglee · 23/11/2020 11:37

@Bridecilla does he collect football cards? Pop some packs of match attax in there and some of his favourite chocolate.

FrolickingLemon · 23/11/2020 11:42

@sarahclacko thank you so much for the Lakeland code Flowers

@bettyskitchen that's the one I've ordered. I fell in love with it while watching Nigella use hers and was about to pay £80 for it. I am so happy. My current bowl doesn't have a handle and is a nightmare to get off the stand for my arthritic hands.

margaritasbythesea · 23/11/2020 11:43

Bridecilla Tumblestones also nice for an advent calendar.

IggyAce · 23/11/2020 11:48

@Iwillneverbesatisfied
For makeup try Revolution, Morphe or MUA from Superdrug. Mua is the cheapest but good quality eyeshadow pallets.
My dd is 14 and Morphe is popular at the moment they often have deals on pallets and brushes.

BigBadBox · 23/11/2020 11:49

advent calendar fillers buy a lego/playmobil/etc set and split it over several days. You could have some of the days be experiences
@Graphista thanks for looking for dressing gowns for me!

Ideally I'm looking for a dressing gown with cuffs like you would get on a sweatshirt/hoodie as I'm fed up with my arms getting cold with the usual wide arm style. I don't know if such a thing exists though!
www.marksandspencer.com/teddy-fleece-cardigan/p/clp60471482?color=NAVY

Don't know if this would fit the bill, but I saw this in store a few weeks ago and it's lovely! It calls it a cardigan but it was in the dressing gown bit and looked longer than it appears on the model but maybe that's just because I'm short!

Annie1290 · 23/11/2020 11:51

I live absolutely nowhere near a John Lewis. Are they all shut atm? I am so desperate for this wreath and have left it too late and it's now out of stock online 😭 what are the chances there will be any in store after lockdown ends?

BigBadBox · 23/11/2020 11:52

I have this watercolour set which is good for a beginner. You don't need hundreds of different colours, fewer is better to learn colour mixing and the figure out if you need to buy more. Definitely get some watercolour paper- normal paper won't work well.

EndlessWaffle · 23/11/2020 11:55

@TheCrow

Echo dot is currently showing as not being dispatched until after Christmas on Amazon, just a heads-up as I know people were going to order them for Christmas presents, definitely look at the predicted arrival date first! Or do they get extra stock in over black Friday? I can't understand why one of their best sellers would be out of stock before December!
Echo Dot was a steal on Amazon Prime day, maybe all the stock was snapped up then (smug because I have one for DSGrin)
Ehunt1 · 23/11/2020 12:00

@Annie1290 phone one of the open John Lewis stores(looks like Cardiff, Aberdeen and Edinburgh are open and have the wreath in stock) and ask them to post one to you. I did this a couple of weeks ago with aftershave that was out of stock online and I couldn’t get to a store. You pay over the phone and it gets sent to you. I think postage under £50 is £3.95.

buckeejit · 23/11/2020 12:00

Also randomly please if anyone knows any discount, variety packs or weird flavours of pot noodle, that would be fab!

Carrie76 · 23/11/2020 12:02

25% off turtle doves wrist warmers when you buy 3 or more code ww25

lolarabbit · 23/11/2020 12:09

Have you looked on Etsy @Annie1290 for alternative wreaths? This one for example. You could always add a few pine cones/extra bits of your own to get just what you want.

pasinphoebe · 23/11/2020 12:13

Just seen on Facebook ... Get £15 off the Velvetiser with code VEL15XMAS, plus free delivery! In case anyone still wants one.

Amazing!! I hadn't even realised you could check stock in stores, so that's really helpful, thank you so much.

Ehunt1 · 23/11/2020 12:17

@Annie1290 glad I could help. I only discovered this recently and I thought it was a great idea.
