You had to rub it in 😂

pussycatinboots · 16/11/2020 20:24

Oooh, 13 is supposed to be unlucky if you're triskaidekaphobic.
I'm sure this one won't last until Dec 25th 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 16/11/2020 20:26

@TheWoollybacksWife

You had to rub it in 😂
Sorry!

But you can save your voucher to buy some when it's back in stock!

Diving in:

I have no lights up (yet) that'll be stealthily done from December onwards . I have a WeRChristmas long swag with lights on watch-list.

I'll put some window stickers up , the snowflake ones
And candles/lights in vases .
If I do it slowly the cats won't think "Whoah when was this decided"?

No gin, we're not gin drinkers here . DH likes a nice whisky

I have weird dreams every night , DH always has the diagnosis that I;m mad and if I tell the DC I had a weird dream they chorus "You always do"

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 17/11/2020 00:16

No lights or decorations up at Chez Why yet. Will be the first weekend in December. Very excited to put the new tree up mind. The town I work in has the Christmas lights up ready for a grand (or more likely not so grand) switch on.

Morning!

We have lights up at the front of the house, inside and out, plus the ones in the garden (bargain Amazon plus my little Christmas trees!). The tree will be the last Sunday in November.

No dreams that I recall last night. 70, I have weird dreams relatively often too!

It's still rather windy here. Our washing should dry quickly again (the towels were nigh-on dry in about 2-3 hours yesterday!).

Just dropping in to say thanks for the new thread fluffy :)

WreckTangled · 17/11/2020 07:17

I ordered dh a new phone contract last night. I pay for his anyway (well it comes out of my account because it was linked to mine) I've moved from o2 as Tesco was so much cheaper. I'll do the same when mine is up, even without the nhs discount it's cheaper. Anyway TopCashback is showing £200 but it should be about £115 which will be good and it's only £10 a month more than the sim only he currently has. He said it can be his Christmas present but it won't be.

In the office today.

CrazyBaubles · 17/11/2020 07:28

I hate how much phones cost these days Wreck - glad you got a good deal with Tesco.

Considering putting some snowman lights up in the office in the next week or so.. ⛄️

I've been awake for an hour and could easily climb back into bed and sleep now 😴

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2020 07:37

Our outside lights are very useful for hanging washing out in the dark!

Phone contracts annoy me. Even older phones don't come with great deals these days it seems. We need a network with WiFi calling as our house doesn't do well for signal in general. I'll probably keep using this phone on SIM-only until it dies!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 17/11/2020 07:57

I haven't had any signal at home for two weeks now. Both dh and I are the same and so is at least one of my neighbours. I keep reporting it and either they say it's sorted or there's no issue Angry it's not an issue until you try to sign into your mobile account and they want you to put in a security code they text you but you can't receive it.

NerosFiddle · 17/11/2020 08:03

Morning.

I can only use an EE or Vodafone phone when at my parents house. They live right on the border and it comes up on my O2 phone that it's using international data.

Dh bought himself a new iPhone yesterday. He said it didn't cost him much because he got a good price for selling his old one. We tend to buy the handsets outright and just do PAYG.

Crazy can I put in a request for more muppets Christmas Carol at the end of this thread seeing as it's the best Christmas film 😂

FireflyGirl · 17/11/2020 08:18

Morning!

I did a little squee at 38 days! That's nothing! Eee!

BiddyPop · 17/11/2020 08:56

I’m doing an “eeeeeek” !! 😱😱 it’s not really that short is it?!

Still in the “insomniacs unite” group. Going to take Thursday off and have a decent walk and get some Christmas bits from
Storage (mugs, maybe outdoor lights and cushion covers, and the presents already gathered to
Start wrapping for postage). And try to finish off some sewing projects as the 1st overseas parcel
Really needs to go( and 2nd needs prepping to go very soon after). But work beckons first...chat later

CrazyBaubles · 17/11/2020 08:57

Happy to post more Muppets pics Neros - remind me Xmas Grin. It's the first film I watch on my present wrapping evening, often while FaceTiming my sister.

Signal here is fine on o2 but MIL can't pick up signal at all with hers (Vodafone).
DH has a contract, I'm on Sim only. Not sure how it works but when DH was able to 'upgrade' he got a new phone and his monthly costs went down. He likes his phone so gave me the new one so we both have relatively decent phones and cheapest tariffs we've ever had (still kick myself for the amount of months / years we paid £40+ per month each for the sake of the newest phone).

NerosFiddle · 17/11/2020 10:17

Crazy I watch it every Christmas Eve, that's my tradition. I put music on, the fire on and have a glass of port when wrapping presents.
Dh insists on watching the Fr Ted Christmas special on Christmas Eve night.

When it gets to 28 days I'll begin to panic. At the minute I just wanted ring for what else 2020 can throw at us.

NerosFiddle · 17/11/2020 10:22

Fluffy I forgot to answer you yesterday. We decided against the vanity table. We ordered it and it arrived but it was massive. She's only just turning 3 so doesn't need one. She's still insisting on make up and jewellery though. I've got her a set like this.

pussycatinboots · 17/11/2020 11:12

Morning.
I'm sure I saw some Muppets Christmas PJs in Sainsburys last week. Xmas Grin
I remember having the Muppets albums (the big round black things that needed a turntable) in the 70s before audio cassette was considered a technological leap forwards. I'm pretty sure my dad got really fed up with it me. I still have a bit of a crush on Fozzie Bear Blush

NerosFiddle · 17/11/2020 11:16

Boots I need those pjs!

MarshmallowManiac · 17/11/2020 11:36

Morning everyone. Pretty sunny here today, am trying to order a few last min pressies atm. No decs or tree up yet in Casa di Marshmallow, but would like to get lights and tree up early this year probably around the first. OMG we're in the thirties can't believe we're that close it's scary.

Great pics at the end of last thread Crazy especially the upside down snowman. Grin

Boots think 13 is lucky in Italy, maybe we can eat a cornetto while on the thread might bring us luck! Grin Used to have Christmas Muppet PJs but a bit holey now, definitely need a new pair.

Neros we watch Polar Express on Christmas Eve, feel it gets us in the mood along with all the other Christmas films in Dec Grin

NerosFiddle · 17/11/2020 12:02

Boots you're a bad influence. I've bought them and a Thomas the tank Christmas jumper for ds and a Hey Duggee dress for dd.

Marshmallow we watched polar express on Saturday. I don't like it at all but the dc seem to like it.

Is anyone reading the Christmas card thread?

TheWoollybacksWife · 17/11/2020 12:18

Is that the multipack card vs special card debate Neros? I don't send many cards so tend to buy a pack of nice ones and send those. DH buys MIL a "Mum" one (usually) and I used to get a special one for my mum and dad.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2020 12:22

I send cards from multipacks. As do my family to me. Some people will take umbrage at anything though!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 17/11/2020 12:44

Nero just think of me as a (free) personal shopper Xmas Wink Xmas Grin

The lack of "speshul" card thread? ...mine did that once, (DH was in hosp - she was lucky to get any card) she didn't get another card. 🤷🏻‍♀️
