Is anyone else out there watching all the shit Christmas films on the telly at the moment?

I found a personal highlight yesterday in My Christmas Inn, notable for its extremely clunky product placement for Balsam Hill.

And obviously anything starring Melissa Joan Hart or Danica Mckellar is going to be fabulous.

Please tell me it's not just me!

I'm rationing my Xmas24 viewing to my morning off but will be binging come December.

All time favourite is Snow globe Christmas - Alicia Witt and Turk from Scrubs. Total cheese from start to finish and I watch it every year!

Love the Christmas Prince series.
We've got one left to watch and I can't wait for Christmas chronicles 2. Love them 🤶🤶😍🎄🎅

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but The Spirit of Christmas is my favourite crappy Christmas film. It’s like mixture of festive romance, period drama and Scooby Doo. Grin

Ooh, also The Most Wonderful Time if the Year with Henry Winkler. It is just all the cheese and cliches at once. It’s awesome.

GhostOfChristmasPudding · 18/11/2020 23:28

*of the Year

I think I may start writing my own Xmas movies!
Kelly MacIntosh leaves New York to go back to her mid-west hometown for Christmas. She meets her old high school sweetheart Nick Kringle. She leaves her mean boyfriend back in NY who is having an affair with her boss.
It will transpire that Nick is actually the son of Santa and has been living in America to understand how 'real' problem live. Kelly will catch her boyfriend out and dump him. Her best friend, Holly, will convince her to give Nick another go and they end up going to the North Pole to carry on the family business.
It will include a town tree lighting ceremony with the crappiest, saddest tree that they will declare the best ever, a cookie baking or gingerbread house making montage, a romantic stroll through the Xmas lights and being flung together to save the local Christmas pageant.

Not a film but I'm loving Dash & Lily on Netflix. 8 x 25 minutes episodes all set at Christmas.

mogtheexcellent · 19/11/2020 12:21

Ive got dash and lily on my list.

Im working on a deadline at the moment so having to rewatch old favourites as they are not as distracting. Currently on Marry me at Christmas. Pure cheese.

There's also one when she ends up in her little model Christmas village!

The Spirit of Christmas oh yes I watched this last year .
She organises a ball and he cannot go past a gate in the garden or something .

Thanks to this thread I've had a lovely few evenings this week watching atrocious films - so far I've watched Christmas Made to Order, Christmas Wonderland, Christmas Wedding Planner, My Christmas Inn and Christmas Inheritance. Story line almost identical in each case - all very relaxing!

InTheCludgie · 21/11/2020 11:29

So yesterday I watched The Christmas Inn and A Christmas Prince. Felt unwell through the night so was up at 2am watching the second in the Christmas Prince series. The third one will no doubt be put on later today!

mum2jakie · 21/11/2020 19:28

Watching "A Christmas Movie Magic" - it's magical!!!

LooneyLovefood · 21/11/2020 21:09

Watched Holidate on Netflix today. Really enjoyed it. Definitely higher quality than the usual Hallmark style ones but still not cinema quality.

Also tried Santa In Training that's new to Netflix this weekend, watched about fifteen minutes and couldn't cope with how awful it was so turned it off and gave it a prompt thumbs down!!

Whatsnewpussyhat · 21/11/2020 21:43

I'm sat watching 'Nostalgic Christmas' that I recorded the other day.

High flying New York toy buyer goes back to small town where dad is about to retire and close up Ye Olde toy shop.
Cue handsome single dad/widower......

2gorgeousboys · 21/11/2020 23:34

Loving this thread. So far I've watched 'Marry Me at Christmas', 'Mrs Miracle 2' and 'The Mistletoe Promise'.

Got lots recorded from Channel 5 for when I get the TV to myself.

Talisin · 22/11/2020 16:54

Just watched The Princess Switch 2 on Netflix. Loved it! It was actually significantly better than the first one and there’s a tiny, completely unexpected cameo appearance in the last few minutes that had me laughing my head offGrin

LooneyLovefood · 22/11/2020 18:16

I watched A Christmas Switch today - it's the whole two different women switching bodies till they realise how to make their own lives better type film. Really enjoyed it.

Also watch Alien Xmas on Netflix - 40 minute animation for kids but I loved it! It

One film I watched the other day had another shameless Balsam Hill plug, think it was Hearts at Christmas.
"Where did you get the lovely Christmas tree from?"
"Balsam Hill!"
Regardless, would recommend Hearts at Christmas, was quite enjoyable.

LooneyLovefood · 25/11/2020 20:21

Watched the new Dolly Parton film on Netflix today and flipping loved it!! It's so ridiculously cheesy but it really made me smile. Hope Netflix put it up again next year and into the future as I think it'll be a new yearly watch.

Pansypath · 25/11/2020 20:23

I love Last Holiday starring Queen Latifah
