Is anyone else out there watching all the shit Christmas films on the telly at the moment?

I found a personal highlight yesterday in My Christmas Inn, notable for its extremely clunky product placement for Balsam Hill.

And obviously anything starring Melissa Joan Hart or Danica Mckellar is going to be fabulous.

Please tell me it's not just me!

I think a lot of these movies are based on short stories.
I watched one the other day where two sisters ended up in their own Christmas movie! A movie in a movie - could you ask for more?!

Oh and I forgot Broadcasting Christmas - Melissa Joan Hart and Dean Cain competing for the anchor job on a Good Morning America type show at Christmas.

YES.

My favourite is Christmas Magic, currently on Amazon Prime. Me and my husband watch it at least three times every year. It has the cheesiest ending which we still laugh at even though we’ve seen it so many times. It’s basically - high flying executive has a car crash, goes to Heaven/Central Park (same thing apparently), comes back to Earth as an angel to help struggling (single father ofc - always widowed too, never divorced) businessman, falls in love with him.

I love it. It’s so terrible and fabulous.

Will also recommend Love Around The Christmas Table which (a) stars Danica McKellar and (b) has a very cute male lead.

The Nine Lives of Christmas. - hot fireman and cute cat, currently on rotation on Sony Movies Christmas.

Ooh thank you, I LOVE this one!

Is that the one with Paul Mcwhatsit from Stargate Atlantis? He runs a diner and won’t change the menu? That wasn’t bad for the guardian angel sub-genre that exists in the Christmas movieverse. There’s another one with the dark haired one from Sex and the City and honest-to-goodness Shirley MacLaine!

I love a grandpa for Christmas! Anyone else seen this?

Cheesiest one I’ve seen is ‘a very cool Christmas’ where a teen girl gives Santa a makeover and changes his sleigh for a flying convertible? Also two versions of this film were made - one with straight parents and one with two dads!

Although the above 2 films don’t involve a romantic storyline so they don’t really fit in with the other films mentioned on here 😂

After thanksgiving I'll switch hallmark on and I'll happily watch away while my family gently mocks.

Oh, what channel are those on?

I’m watching Matchmaker Christmas but it’s not quite hitting the spot

We watched the New York one - I have to say we had hysterics, it was so weird!

The bloke playing David wrote and directed it and clearly has his own vendetta against the Catholic Church. Fair enough, but I can't help questioning the ludicrous plot and marketing of the film.

Still, a memory to be treasured, so thanks for sharing!!

Oh I love Snow Angels, it's probably my favourite, great twist.

And Mrs Miracle. There's one where a nurse travels forward in time, that's another good one. And any of the hundreds with baddie property developers!

Currently watching christmas under the stars. It's on my5 online along with a shed load of others. Just search christmas or holidays.

Christmas lodge is another favourite of mine. It's a bit 'God' but I like the scenery.

I'm ashamed to say I had "A Christmas Movie Christmas" on the five player going the other day. It's a whole fluffing Christmas cheeseboard with Z list bad actors, hallmark level scriptwriting, fake snow...tinsel on a turd. It'll kill or cure your addiction. (My excuse is I'm chronically ill and lose a of couple hours a day to painkillers & shite telly).

Ooh, I’ve found a whole stash - yay!

We had Sky Q installed a couple of weeks ago and I have no idea how to use the bloody thing.

Have just finished watching The Christmas Lodge and now on to Christmas Inheritance. I noticed that Mrs Miracle is on channel 5 tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait!

I have found my people! Watching these films is my guilty pleasure and I like to start as early as possible! Movies 24 is usually my go to but Netflix has a huge list of cheesy stuff that I am working through. I just love the escapism which we all need right now!

@Chrysanthemum5

There is a mellissa Joan hart one where she kidnaps someone to make him pretend to be her boyfriend at a family Christmas - I usually live her in any film but that one was a stretch

How dare you speak negatively of Holidays in Handcuffs! —it is so bad I love it, I even have it on DVD—

One that I like to watch each year is Christmas Inheritance. Small American town, beautifully decorated, snow and a cheesy romance. What more could you want?
Some of my other favourites are:
Christmas in the clouds
Help for the holidays
Santa Baby.
I've noticed quite a few on Netflix this year that I've not watched before so I'm all set Grin

Christmas Magic!!! Who else has seen Christmas Magic? Where she's an angel and falls in love, and at the end she's actually in a coma and the love interest comes to the hospital and plays the world's worst song on a synthesiser. Which presumably wakes up her up so she can tell him to shut the heck up ...

I saw that Dolly Parton has a new Xmas movie out - she plays an angel of some sort.
