Is anyone else out there watching all the shit Christmas films on the telly at the moment?

I found a personal highlight yesterday in My Christmas Inn, notable for its extremely clunky product placement for Balsam Hill.

And obviously anything starring Melissa Joan Hart or Danica Mckellar is going to be fabulous.

Please tell me it's not just me!

Has anyone here appreciated the absolute shiteness of the film Santa's Summer House? It's so appallingly bad it's great Grin

There are some decent ones on Netflix at the moment. In the spirit of a channel 5 Christmas film but better. Saw one the other day about a woman who is given the chance by an angel (natch) to live an alternative life. Those are my favourite ones!

I believe it might be on Amazon Prime.

I will warn you though that if you have a dh or dp in the house who is a bit Hmm at your preference for shite movies, then be prepared for them to do lots of head shaking, tutting and eye rolling at this one.

I love them! Me and DD binge watch while complaining about the obvious romantic plot lines, it's the best part of Christmas!

I really enjoyed the Holidate and there's a new lesbian one with Kristen Stuart I'd like to see but I think you have to pay for it on Prime.

There is a mellissa Joan hart one where she kidnaps someone to make him pretend to be her boyfriend at a family Christmas - I usually live her in any film but that one was a stretch

i love crappy made for TV movies, especially chrismtas ones!!
if you have sky etc even just the free channels there is now the sony christmas channel and Christmas 24 which is just back to back cheesy films. Netflix and prime also have some.

DH hates them as they are completely predicatable and completely far fetched etc but that is why i like them, I love the over the top christmas towns where everyone knows everyone and the whole place is like a christmas factory exploded!

I also love Daddys home 2 which is christmas themed and Bad Moms 2 which is also christmas themed!

I love them and the fact there’s only 2/3 possible storylines for them Grin

OMG I have found my people!

Love a hallmark-risqué Crap holiday film. Everyone must wear red and green, snow and Xmas trees must be clearly fake, plot must be wafer thin, completely predictable and hilarious for sheer ridiculousness. Christmas decorations must be completely OTT, there must be a scene in which people have a snowball fight and / or make Xmas cookies and the make up / hair of the female lead must be as impossibly perfect as the chiseled chin of her love-to-be. sigh

Just wanted Christmasland & Christmas Made to Order on Netflix. Both utter drivel. Both wonderful!

My friends and I play Christmas Crap Movie bingo! I highly recommend it! 😂🎄

Don’t know where the risqué bit came from in my previous post! They aren’t that kind of film! Grin

Peas I was just going to ask for recommendations of risqué Christmas movies, I'm sorely disappointed now Grin

So sorry to disappoint @BoulangerieBabs - I’m sure if you look you can find some...

If not I think Mills & Boon have some choice Christmas themed books! Grin

I bloody love a good cheesy Christmas film.
The 24 hour xmas channel is great.

Love how everything is so OTT in all those big American houses.

Watched one last year with 2 waring families who owned xmas tree farms. Was like romeo and juliet with hot chocolate and cookies Grin

One where danika mckeller is stranded in a small town when her flight gets snowed in. Fab.

There's an actress called Candace Cameron Bure who does loads of xmas films. She's the female equivalent of Dean Cain.

The women coming back to her home town for xmas and re kindling her love for her high school sweetheart is the most common storyline.

I recognise her!

I keep wondering where they all store the bazillions of Christmas decorations for the rest of the year in these holiday towns. Smile

But he has to convince her that her high flying corporate job is nothing compared to love, family and home first!

I love them. Getting all cosy and settled to watch one. Especially in December when we've got the tree up and sets etc out!

Not the high-powered and stressed businesswoman getting snowed in in a tiny town, and desperately trying to get away to sign an important contract, before being mellowed by the power of Christmas baking and falling in love with the local hotelier/chocolate shop owner/hot son of one of the above who has a wonderful taste in knitwear?

I really enjoyed The Knight Before Christmas last year. All of the above and added time travel.

noooooo dont do santas summer house. I was twice stuck on a sofa through illness) one year horrendous morning sickness and 2 years later broken knee) and couldnt find the remote to change the channel as couldnt move from sofa.

At times I think we should stream it continually in prisons but then I remember torture is not very nice.

DO NOT watch the Heart of Christmas. Involves a young child dying.

Christmas Inheritance is good.

I like the ones set in sunny places where they have all the fake snow and everyone is wearing jumpers despite the blistering heat.

Just finished a Cinderella Christmas. Pure fluff.

I saw that one but didn’t like the time travel thing. Just wasn’t very realistic 😂

I’ve got the next 2 days off work so will have to look out Santa’s Summerhouse
