I still have no idea if that’s a typo, euphemism or actual shop
@XFPW 😬

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Flash50 gets 50% off at photobox ends tonight.

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 02/11/2020 06:33

I also recommend a star wrap and it’s my go to baby gift. Mine was used almost daily September to March with my DC as they are so easy to get on and off compared to coats.

CoffeeNights · 02/11/2020 06:44

I too fell of the threads for a bit *name changed

But am back to shopping!

mummyof2boys30 · 02/11/2020 06:46

@Puffalicious

I'm onto that Curry's deal - brilliant. The Switch is indeed an expensive business! I think I might have and go for the Smyths' deal. I'll kick myself, though, if the BFriday deals are greatConfused.

My problem is after the Switch and a few books he wants that's a lot of cash and I'm not sure he understands the value (8 and has Asd so younger emotionally) and may be upset there's not more parcels compared to the usual bigger pile when he was younger.

My son has additional needs and is exactly the same. He has been disappointed for about an hour or so last birthday as he had no large gift but we just accept that's the way he is and dont upset ourselves by it. He usually comes round quickly when he realises what he has got is what he really wanted and not all the other stuff
Thegirlhasnoname · 02/11/2020 07:05

Thank you to PP for the Blade & Rose code. I already had a full basket (2y/o DD has had an extension selection since day dot!) and always nice to get a freebie 😁

cruellada · 02/11/2020 07:12

Some cracking limited time discounts on prime for Olivia Burton watches... I don't know the brand personally DSIL is very trendy and lovely them so that's a good Christmas present bargain for us :) type 'Olivia Burton watch' and lots come up

Vebrithien · 02/11/2020 07:33

I third a star wrap for a new baby present. We had a 0-2 month one from Tuppence and Crumble, and then the next size up was given to us via Amazon. If the baby is due over the winter, then a smaller one would be good. DS has just made 15lb, and is now too big for the 0-2 month.

Vebrithien · 02/11/2020 07:37

We've got the"Snuggles" one from Amazon (with the ears) which is now the correct size (15lb DS now). It's better for a slightly older baby (DS is 5 months, but 3.5 months corrected for size) as this one allows him to have his hands out, or tucked in.

MissMarple0203 · 02/11/2020 07:41

QVC have the Elemis sets on special value I bought X2 of these last year and was really impressed! Would make a lovely gift or if like me a treat for your self!

woodwaj · 02/11/2020 07:45

The star wrap is very cute! My first though was would they get much use out of it but in reality I suppose all baby clothes don't get used much!

RaggieDolls · 02/11/2020 07:47

@Puffalicious, I know what you mean. DS is neuro typical and I've mentioned a few times that it's a very big present etc so I'm hoping that message will sink in. He seems to accept this and I'll keep repeating the message!

It helps that DD is getting an iPad so will be in the same boat. I will make an effort to get some cheap bits for stockings to bulk it out.

I'm making it sound as though they are generally this spoilt but they've been through a lot this year and were basically ignored for months on end as DH and I worked throughout the months they were at home.

That's a good idea about bigger boxes @mummabear74

Yeknom · 02/11/2020 08:10

Controversial but I got a star wrap as a gift. Not my cup of tea so resold it. I think I'm definitely in the minority though.

ArthurChristmas2 · 02/11/2020 08:10

I’ve just bought a photo blanket for my baby niece. Lots on Amazon to choose from and a great memory idea!

mummabear74 · 02/11/2020 08:15

@RaggieDolls we are in the same position with spending more this year to compensate for the crap year. Both I and DH worked from home during the first lockdown in jobs which became incredibly busy and stressful and our two were pretty much left to their own devices. Thankfully we saved the petrol money we would have spent so are in the fortunate position that we can buy them a larger gift each.

Lovemusic33 · 02/11/2020 08:35

I’m spending more this year too but there will be less to open, dd1 is getting a ipad as she did so well in her gcse and coped well in lockdown, she also needs the iPad for school work (I might have to give it too her early if schools close). Dd2 has 2 biggish Lego sets and I will probably get her another on Black Friday deals as I always cave in when there’s a Lego bargain 🤣, they won’t be getting much else, dd1 has a Disney stitch teddy and her stocking, dd2 pretty much the same and some craft kits to keep her busy over Christmas.

I’m not spending as much on relatives, have bought small gifts for all the kids and am making things for the adults.

girlsyearapart · 02/11/2020 08:39

Thanks for the sports direct code it works on fifa 21 and also on full price football kits

SparklingLime · 02/11/2020 08:49

There’s an amazing Facebook group for small businesses in NZ that showcases loads of gifts, including kids’ clothes, @Rockhopper81.

Started during their Covid lockdown to allow people to access the masses of mainly sole traders inside NZ:

www.facebook.com/groups/Chooice/?ref=share.

SparklingLime · 02/11/2020 08:54

Oh, there’s a website too: chooice.co.nz/shop/

2020nymph · 02/11/2020 08:56

@Fuckingfuckssake no it's not.

Lockdownlumpy · 02/11/2020 09:06

I also never used a star wrap. In fact we had two that were never used. I mostly baby wore and they were too hot for wrapping.

Fuckingfuckssake · 02/11/2020 09:12
@Fuckingfuckssake no it's not.
Ah okay, this popped up before it took me to the Swizzels website? Apologies if I'm mistaken.

Not bargainous, but really not as dear as you may expect, Fortnum and Mason advent calendars are gorgeous this year

FireflyGirl · 02/11/2020 09:30

@Fuckingfuckssake if you just clicked on nymph's link, it'll be Mumsnet - (copied from Reastie's post):
