I still have no idea if that’s a typo, euphemism or actual shop
@XFPW 😬

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Does anyone know if you can buy pre-decorated Christmas trees?

For a few reasons this year, I can't cope with dragging the tree out and trying to get it all set up but have DSs who wouldn't think it Christmas without a tree (especially DS2 who has sen) so want the absolute minimum effort option - is this a thing?!

I don't know. I love bushy Christmas trees, so get the feeling if such a thing did exist, it would be a slim type one.

If there is & they do bushy ones too, please let me know. I find it a pain as I spend all of December moving a bauble here & there as I'm never happy with them Grin

Can anyone advise on dashcams please? I'm looking for a front and rear camera one for not-very-tech-savvy FIL!

Is it worth paying extra for the 4k instead of 1080p or 1440p resolution? Anything else I need to consider? They seem to vary so much in price!

APEMAN Mini Dash Cam 1080P Full HD, Dash Camera for Cars https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07GFGHKW8/ref=cmswwrcppapiii5ZYNFbG62DF01?encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I bought this about a month ago and it was super easy to set up. Basically - plug it in to the cigarette lighter! There is a twin version too for front and rear cameras. DH tucked all the cables in behind the roof liner etc so it's all best and tidy too.

@BeGoneDom

What was the consensus with the IWOOT Christmas jumpers, sizing and quality wise?

@Woodwaj we bought teachers a little hot chocolate set from B&M. Same could be used for DB and SIL if they drink hot choc, they were only £4-5.
How old is your DS? I've bought DH a keyring from mine on Etsy where you upload a drawing your child has done and they print or etch it onto a keyring. There are loads of varieties, might be nice for a grandparent gift. I've only just ordered so can't vouch for quality yet.

I ordered a Christmas jumper from IWOOT a couple of years back and they emailed after about three weeks saying out of stock and would send it when it came back into stock - after Christmas.

Their customer service is diabolical as well.

I need some help with ideas please.
Dd has given us no clues with what she wants for her main present. She also has her 5th birthday soon so need ideas for that too! Plus, it now looks impossible for us to see grandparents and aunts/uncles abroad which means they will send us money to buy her stuff, which is more things we need to think of Shock
She has a bike and a scooter, loads of art stuff. Doesn't like 'small world' play eg sylvanians, playmobil. Not into barbies or lego.
Ideas gratefully received!!

woodwaj · 01/11/2020 21:54

@BeGoneDom thanks ill take a look at those

Puffalicious · 01/11/2020 21:58

Raggiedolls The Switch does seem to be £279 everywhere. However, the new Fortnite edition was released on Friday pre-loaded with Fortnite and special colours at the same price of £279 a good, few places.

Don't know whether to go for it or wait for Black Friday.

Bryna · 01/11/2020 21:58

@Lockdownlumpy Could you put the money together and get her one bigger present, ie a trampoline, or climbing frame?

Twilightstarbright · 01/11/2020 21:58

@Lockdownlumpy what about a climbing frame type thing for the garden, or a trampoline?

Yoto player? Then others can buy her the cards.

Puffalicious · 01/11/2020 22:01

Found this deal for £289.99 with an additional game smyths

myhobbyisouting · 01/11/2020 22:11

"What was the consensus with the IWOOT Christmas jumpers, sizing and quality wise?"

They are bigger than you'd expect (especially the scooby doo one randomly). I bought 4 and they gave me a refund and allowed me to keep the jumpers

whoknows1230 · 01/11/2020 22:13

@TheRealMrsJamieFraser, that looks brilliant thank you!

Did you buy the rear view mirror mount or the hard wire kit?

whoknows1230 · 01/11/2020 22:14

@Lockdownlumpy my DD wasn't into small world type toys either, but she received a Lego Friends set around that age and has really enjoyed Lego ever since.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 01/11/2020 22:21

@TheRealMrsJamieFraser glad to help!

Londoncatshed · 01/11/2020 22:24

Does anyone have an ASOS code please?

Cancangirlie · 01/11/2020 22:29

Sports Direct have 20% off all full price items from midnight with the code AUTUMN20 hope that helps someone.

TheRealMrsJamieFraser · 01/11/2020 22:30

[quote whoknows1230]@TheRealMrsJamieFraser, that looks brilliant thank you!

I only bought the front camera, and didn't bother with the hardwiring kit. Tbh I don't trust my battery at the moment so I unplug it every night once I'm home, I wanted it for my commute not when the car is just sitting at home.
You need a micro add card for it - at least I think it's a micro one, it mentions it on the description 😊

uniqlo · 01/11/2020 22:30

House of Fraser and Sports Direct have 20% off full price items starting at midnight - code is AUTUMN20 for both

TheRealMrsJamieFraser · 01/11/2020 22:31

@Elskerdeg thank you - I clicked on that earlier and thought perfect - will order 2 but then got distracted and forgot and now it's sold out 😂

Oldmrswasherwoman · 01/11/2020 22:31

Last Black fri a Nintendo Switch plus 1 x game (we had Mario Kart 8) was 299 at Smyths. I seem to remember being annoyed as it was ten quid cheaper the week before Black Fri so 289+game seems a good deal. I don't think it will get discounted massively more as they are so in demand they don't need to.

Famousthehero · 01/11/2020 22:43

@Lockdownlumpy how about magnetic tiles like Playmags?
Camera or walkie talkies similar to the attached?
Deals on kinetic sand and air dry clay have been up on these threads...
How about a membership to a local attraction? Or a subscription box based on her interests, like mud and bloom or toucan box?

@Famousthehero those whistles look great, they're going on my list!

I too love instruments for dc. We have a lovely set of handbells - GLTC I think & a cabasa, lovely rosewood claves, kalimba, rainstick, accordion. All well played with
