Thread 11 - the one where everyone keeps writing the bargain info *in bold*

999 replies

Reastie · 07/10/2020 16:22

Just keeping the title similar should anyone have missed the last title and info.

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

@PinkDaydreams

Amazon told me they don't allow two vouchers together when I asked
Thank you, i will put through a separate order now then to use the first voucher.
recklessgran · 11/10/2020 16:41

@Uniqlo thank you so much - I've pm'd you.

Shitfuckoh · 11/10/2020 16:41

@Bluewavescrashing
My 6 year old loves the Lego games. He's building quite the collection of them and loves the Super heroes ones, he also has the Lego City one which he's likes but not as keen as he is the others.
My eldest loves 'Hello Neighbour', Mario & Sonic. Mario Battle Kingdom is on offer at the minute in Smyths - £16.99 I think.

DS has just shown a real interest in Buzz Lightyear- seem to remember a Disney Store discount code....for the life in me I can't find it. Please can anyone remember it?

thaegumathteth · 11/10/2020 16:54

@JessicaJoans thank you. Just ordered gloves for my mum who has arthritis in her hands.

Bluewavescrashing · 11/10/2020 16:54

Can you buy the games virtually online as well as buying the game in a box from the shop? Sorry if stupid question. Xbox one games can be bought online but that's connected to a smart TV.

BestofLuck · 11/10/2020 16:55

@Bluewavescrashing I second Lego games for the Switch. DS now 10 and still likes them. As well as Zelda of course Smile.

If you don't get a code I think the entertainer had some buzz stuff reduced.

@Reastie, the thread has reached page 40 already!

Please can I have your recommendations for best board games for DGC's twins [boy/girl] 14 and a boy 12 who have suddenly announced they would love some new board games. They've got all the usual Monopoly, Payday, Cluedo, Risk, Connect4, Uno etc. so guess I'm looking for something a bit more obscure. Thank you very much.

ThePurpleGirl · 11/10/2020 17:08

Did anyone else click on the link to red letter days above and then get a notification on their phone saying "Thank you for signing up! We'll be in touch soon."?

I didn't sign up to anything Confused I literally followed the link, looked at the hamper, decided I wasn't interested and then closed the window. I might have clicked to accept cookies without really thinking about it, but I definitely didn't agree to sign up to anything.

Yes you can purchase them from the Nintendo store - I haven't set mine up with the wifi / store side of things and just purchase the games in store.
PinkJam · 11/10/2020 17:10

Debenhams have free standard delivery on all orders. No minimum spend.

mumontherun14 · 11/10/2020 17:10

@TheCrow I just got it there. If you go into your basket & click proceed to checkout, it applies the discount there. That’s a great price I was wanting it for my dad.

Feministschool · 11/10/2020 17:11

BakedIn are offering a free box with a 12 month subscription with the code CHERRYONTOP

MrsBhappyface · 11/10/2020 17:14
@MrsBhappyface how did you get to the checkout page please? I asked Alexa to add the dot to my basket, closed the app and opened Amazon on my browser. The dot is showing as being added to basket by Alexa but there's no option or tickbox anywhere to apply discount. Am I doing it wrong? 😂
Hi i asked alexa to add it to my basket. Then opened amazon on my phone. The echo was in the basket at £29.99. Once I went through all the proceed to checkout stuff it says use your £11 promotional balance. Then tick that box and continue. I hope you can get it to work x

Thank you to everyone who recommended hampers. I went to TKMaxx today (in person rather than online) and managed to find a wooden crate kit that came with shredded tissue, a cellophane bag and a ribbon and so got two for £6.99 each (RRP stated £14.99 but not sure how true that is). I bought a natural wood colour however they had bright pink, red, green and a blue colour in too.

sorryiasked · 11/10/2020 17:24

@thecrow I've had a long chat with customer service, you have to have an existing Alexa device (not the app) linked to your account for the promotion to apply. Our Alexa is on a different account which I don't want to use for various reasons so don't qualify.

ShandlersWig · 11/10/2020 17:25

@Bluewavescrashing

Just watch out for price differences between a download game or the physical game card. Often the download is more expensive on Switch. E.g. Zelda is 59.99 download and 47.00 as a game card!

StarDanced · 11/10/2020 17:27

@recklessgran some games like ticket to ride (there a few different versions) and Carcassone would be good for that age range. They are great games and will last as they get older. Suburbia and Settlers of Catan are also a good ones. All have relatively simple instructions but are great no matter how often you play.

butmumineedit · 11/10/2020 17:31

Reckless gran can recommend Rummikub a fantastic board game based on numbers .

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 11/10/2020 17:32

Boots have triple points on Electrical, Beauty and Fitbit Online only. Just bought DH an electric toothbrush and got 1200 points back. Also got Cashback. So a good deal Smile

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 11/10/2020 17:33

@recklessgran If they like Uno then SkyJo is a firm favourite in our household. Even with the teenagers!
