Thread 11 - the one where everyone keeps writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 07/10/2020 16:22

Just keeping the title similar should anyone have missed the last title and info.

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

@Lovemusic33 If the Yoshi code is still available I'd love it please. I've been coveting their bookworms range for ages but struggling to justify the spend at full price.

Not on offer, but IMO very good quality for the price, I bought some hair clips from an Etsy shop called Sunny Slide Up. They do all sorts of different hair clips, I bought a Sonic the Hedgehog pair and a Yoda pair. Good quality, lots of choice, arrived very quickly, and it seems to be a small UK business.

whatwillicallmyself · 10/10/2020 23:05

Theonlyoneiknow · 10/10/2020 23:09

Beadley are you looking at wooden or plastic barbie house? there are always tons for sale on my local facebook pages/marketplace

CoffeeAndEnnui · 10/10/2020 23:45

@Mipe, if you have time to wait (and time to cancel) you can buy these camera-shaped flash drives for around 3 dollars via Ali Express which are jolly similar. I just got some lovely wooden guitar USB drives through for friends at a similar price. I bought them from this seller who also produces the camera ones above. They're very cute!

CoffeeAndEnnui · 10/10/2020 23:51

In related Ali Express bargain news, I found a smashing Nightmare Before Christmas pocket watch for under $4.50 posted for my dd, who is a huge fan. The seller is here, just be aware that the usual Ali Express rules apply, long wait for shipping etc. But I bought a similar Wizard of Oz watch a couple of years ago that is still going strong so fingers crossed...

Just bought this set of Avengers mini books for £10. Not sure if it would be worth the full price looking at the reviews, but ok for £10: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1789059704?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

@SandwichDistraction

For the person that asked about iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 is being launched in 3 days and iPhone 11 is expected to reduce in price by at least £100. Not sure if that will happen straight away or when iPhone 12 actually goes on sale at the beginning of November. But definitely worth holding out for a bit. You can also get a small % cashback with topcashback and small discount if you have a blue light card if buying direct from Apple.
Thank you *@SandwichDistraction* I will use my blue light card, but have never used topcashback so will look at that too.
Dovesandkisses · 11/10/2020 05:56

disney books Disney books £6 on amazon

1moreRep · 11/10/2020 07:09

Dd has asked for an Alexa type device, any ideas?

Also it's worth signing up for a blue light card for discounts if you're emergency services

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 11/10/2020 07:09

Can anyone remember the name of the shop that sold perfume and aftershave that were made to smell like branded fragrances?

1moreRep · 11/10/2020 07:10

@DaisyChops the pjs are in and onesies

Oscar1234 · 11/10/2020 07:14

Hi Fueled, it was The Perfume Parlour. I tried a couple of perfumes and they ware excellent

Twilightstarbright · 11/10/2020 07:31

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 11/10/2020 07:32

@Oscar1234 thank you Flowers I’m obsessed with one of their aftershaves so need to stock up

doublemix · 11/10/2020 07:32

Thanks for the Jurassic Jim recommendations I've been messaging him about something I've been looking for for a while and he got back to me straightaway with exactly what I wanted for DS and at a very cheap price!

LyraSilvertongueBelacqua · 11/10/2020 07:33

Turtle Doves have come up on my FB with the £10 off offer. Has anyone returned a pair? I'd like some for my Nan, but I know she won't wear some of the colours but £16 doesn't end up being such a bargain if you have to pay £3 to return (and postage again for them to send another pair?) I'm not sure how it works.

@Twilightstarbright thank you. This is all my dd wants for Xmas. On it!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 11/10/2020 07:57

I can't remember who was looking for the cardboard playhouse to colour in but Aldi have a couple in the Halloween section online, a castle and a pirate ship. They normally do Christmas themed ones nearer the time too. They are £4.99 each.

GoblinDaughter · 11/10/2020 07:58

I need a make up advent calendar for a 4 year old. She loves the stuff but obviously I don’t want to buy the adult ones as I don’t think they’ll appeal. Has anyone seen any for younger ones?

In return I offer this Disney Frozen advent calendar. I saw it yesterday in my local b&m and there was lots of stock. I thought pretty good for a tenner as you can get those 24 books out every year. It was also pretty big and impressive looking.

These cute gingerbread house mug toppers maybe a nice activity with a nice reward of hot chocolate afterwards. £2:87 for the cutters.
