Thread 11 - the one where everyone keeps writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 07/10/2020 16:22

Just keeping the title similar should anyone have missed the last title and info.

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets

Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@ArthurChristmas2 how about an Alexa. She could use it to listen to music (as well as ask the weather and other questions), I know you would have to sort this bit out but she might like that.

Zakidoodles23 · 09/10/2020 21:01

@bicnod I've sent you a disney code for 20% off

BunnyBerries · 09/10/2020 21:08

@ArthurChristmas2

How about one of those bird feeders that attaches to your window? So you can watch the birds close up from outside or feed them easily from inside the house if you open one window (so she could watch them, or listen to them).

ArthurChristmas2 · 09/10/2020 21:08

@Yeknom and @Oneandzero thank you! She wasn’t a big reader and I was about to say her big read was the local paper but she hasn’t seen it for a while. So, @JoHo123 thank you for such an amazing reply! I haven’t thought of that at all. I’m in Wales and she’s in England but I’ll have a look at her local office and mine. A local audio newspaper would absolutely make her day! X

ArthurChristmas2 · 09/10/2020 21:10

And, everyone else! I love this thread. It’s so hard for us all to cope knowing she will be blind soon. All these fabulous suggestions and luckily I have a birthday and a Christmas to cover!!

Bicnod · 09/10/2020 21:12

@Zakidoodles23 thank you SO much for the Disney code, you are lovely and my DS will be so happy 😊

Thanks girls! I just got this too :)

Givealittlebit · 09/10/2020 21:58

@violetmartini just agreeing with the next oodie type jumper. I've had mine a good few number of years now and it's just as thick and snuggly as when I got it, and lasted through pregnancy! One of the best presents I've had.

I know there was talk ages back about the contigo travel mug. I'd added it to my basket when it reduced to £12 but was dithering. Forgot it was in there and just noticed the vivacious colour is now just £9!

Ewock · 09/10/2020 22:17

Does anyone know if there are any discount codes for Very? Just seen something that I want to buy for £40 and think I remember something on one of the threads about a code but I could be wrong.

DarkHumour · 09/10/2020 22:17

Good value Lego city toy bundle in tesco here £40 reduced to £20

Avoca76 · 09/10/2020 22:30

I’m looking at getting a Microsoft Surface 3 and there is currently £100 off with a My John Lewis card. Does anyone know if this is likely to be the best deal or whether I would be better off waiting until Black Friday?

catanddogmake6 · 09/10/2020 22:35

@Emma10702 for nightdresses la redoute certainly has them in small women’s sizes. Also worth looking at some of the tv/ film merchandise stores, definitely saw some but can’t remember if it was EMP, Zavvi or one of the others. If child sizes I ended up having to order from Amazon. They were surprisingly good quality despite not being branded. The M&S and John Lewis ones I bought in the summer were returned - rough material or daft seams and just not comfy. Surprisingly difficult to get hold of.

Connellschain · 09/10/2020 22:36

Random one, but looking to buy a good bottle of whisky for about £60 for a male relative. Any ideas? I can find ones about £30 or £130 not much in between

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 22:40

Have you browsed this website @Connellschain? Seems to be loads.

angstyalways · 09/10/2020 22:43

@Avoca76 I have an offer with student beans to get 10% off surface but has to bought from curry's, would that help?

Connellschain · 09/10/2020 22:48

By the Power of Mumsnet that was quick & rather amazing @NoWordForFluffy
Thank you!!

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2020 22:54

No worries (I've no idea about whisk(e)y however)!

tabbycat985 · 09/10/2020 22:58

@Connellschain If he's very into his whiskey, Bushmills have released their Steamship collection in their online shop. Previously it was a travel exclusive only available in Belfast & Dublin airports
