Thread 11 - the one where everyone keeps writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 07/10/2020 16:22

Just keeping the title similar should anyone have missed the last title and info.

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

Not quite xmas related but where can I get short sleeves nighties for a 10 yo girl. Online isn’t bringing any up. More pjs or long sleeved. I guess due to going into winter.

ArthurChristmas2 · 09/10/2020 20:30

Can someone help please? My mum will be 82 this December. She has no hobbies and has a health condition that means she will be blind shortly. I’m trying to work out what to buy! She has no techy skills. I feel like I’ve done scarfs, bags, perfume, afternoon teas to death. She has cupboards of toiletries and has asked for no clothes! So stuck!

Next have some but not much choice here
Lovemusic33 · 09/10/2020 20:33

Sorry, just saw the nighties are not in stock in age 10. Maybe M&S?

Yeknom · 09/10/2020 20:34

@ArthurChristmas2 are you nearby? If so,
Could you do an Alexa with a audiobook subscription? They're very easy to use and maybe you could just do the quick set up for her? x

CoffeeAndEnnui · 09/10/2020 20:35

It's only a thin blanket so not for the snuggly Oodie lovers but this tortilla blanket on offer for just over a tenner would make a fun gift for older children/teens without breaking the bank.

**Birdkids have free delivery on tender leaf toys. There are some nice wooden food toys and some wooden animals for younger children’s stockings. There is also 10% off when you subscribe but not sure whether that works with the free delivery or not

www.birdkids.co.uk/tender-leaf-toys/

Backatsquareone · 09/10/2020 20:41

Sorry forgot to say code for birdkids free delivery is LEAFDELIVERY

Purpleheadgirl · 09/10/2020 20:41

If anyone is wanting to make an advent calendar the works have their woden 25 drawer calendars on offer - normally £15 each but now £20 for 2

JoHo123 · 09/10/2020 20:41

@ArthurChristmas2 Have you been in touch with your local sight loss charity? I used to work for one and we had a resource centre where we had all sorts of useful daily living aids to buy.

You could check out the RNIB online shop for something like a talking clock or watch, easy to see calendar and thick berol marker pens, yellow paper to make notes to herself on, little things that hang on the side of a cup that chirp when it’s nearly full so she can still make a cuppa etc.

Ooo, you could also see about the local talking newspaper or talking library books and something simple to listen to them on. I think Talking Books or Calibre (I think!) might provide them.

I recently got two from Matalan. They tend to be quite young though. Our 10 year old fits in small women's nighties though?

I also have missguided discount codes, it doesn't say that they are account specific.

@Emma10702 character.com do short sleeved nighties up to age 11-12 in their older themes - eg Lol and Minecraft. I usually get kids' pjs from there and they're mostly great but very occasionally they can be poor quality - I've just bought 5.5yo DS some new Spiderman pjs in age 6-7 and they're absolutely skin tight. He is skinny and tall, but is still in age 5-6 of some of their other sets. However, these are much too tight.

shash1982 · 09/10/2020 20:51

Hope that someone can make use of them! 😊

NewCatMummy · 09/10/2020 20:55

My navy sienna cheap amazon oodie arrived- vacuum packed with yellow ribbons, dd asked if it was a Swedish flag. I’ve given it to her now and she loves it- she’s 5ft 5 ish and it’s about knee length and very wide on her. She loves the pocket. Fairly thin but perfect as an indoor extra layer for snuggling.

@Emma10702 I seen a post on fb where a lady had bought long Womens Primark T shirts for her girls to wear as nighties. They always have ones with cute characters on so this might be something worth looking at....unless you want it as a nice Christmas present then just ignore me😀

Ah, actually. Just as I clicked submit after bank details it came up saying amount had been changed & the code wasn't valid. Think someone was quicker than me lol
