Thread 10 - the one where everyone starts writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 03/10/2020 12:04

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

More beautiful, quality products with a free Christmas candle with orders over £50. Love the matching soap bars and hand cream, perfect at the minute.

Just a heads up re the Sheepers Lucky Dip, if you buy direct rather than from Not on the High Street shipping is free!

Phillips one blade razor is half price in Tesco. Looks like a good deal for men with stubble. Just checked on Amazon and it's £40.

Can anyone get me a student discount code for Geek Gear with student beans? Thanks! :)

FoolShapeHeart · 04/10/2020 21:02

Has anyone bought the recycled cashmere fingerless gloves/wristwarmers from Turtle Doves & would you recommend them? I'm hoping they're lovely and soft, and wash well (don't ask for much!)

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/10/2020 21:23

@SayNoToCarrots thanks. I will try them for that price then

Lockdownlumpy · 04/10/2020 21:28

Bit of a random one but quadro play have a pyramid set reduced quite a lot.

quadro play pyramid £119 (down from £198)

quadroplay.co.uk/product/quadro-climbing-pyramid/

Sadly my kids are a bit old this now but I'd have jumped on it if they were younger.

Lockdownlumpy · 04/10/2020 21:31

@FoolShapeHeart
I have 2 pairs. They are snuggly, soft and warm. One pair is thicker than the other but I guess that just depends on the thickness of the original jumper. The thinner pair have a bit more stretch and that means they have also lost a little shape but I'm hoping they shrink back when I wash them.

mrsdavegrohl · 04/10/2020 21:35

I have two pairs of turtle doves. They are fab. Really keep your hands warm. My two pairs are also slightly different sizes but are equally warm
I have raynauds and these keep my fingers toasty

Twilightstarbright · 04/10/2020 21:35

@Birdladybird do you still need one?

Twilightstarbright · 04/10/2020 21:39

@Birdladybird sorry hit post too quickly

Thank you for the kind words everyone :) little Arwen has been a star. Was in hospital due to how much blood I lost, i have 10 days worth of injections to deal with that and a lot of painkillers. whilst I was there they ended up picking up a small heart murmur on her so we left a day later than expected, but she's been wonderful x

On a bargains related note has anyone seen any nice stocking fillers for boys who are really into gaming/you tube stuff like fgteev etc please? It would really help me out with finishing my sons stuff off :) I've got about £30 left of his budget. Thank you x

UselessInDisguise · 04/10/2020 21:43

I keep going back to the kukubird leggings but I just can't bring myself to buy them.althouch for some reason I want them. They're just so whacky!

SayNoToCarrots · 04/10/2020 21:46

Buy them @UselessInDisguise. Buy them.

peasando · 04/10/2020 21:46

Finally caught up, been behind for days. Has anyone noticed that most of the suggestions in the Mumsnet swears by email come from these threads? We are such an inspiration 🤣

Goldistheanswer · 04/10/2020 21:48

I never receive the Swears By email, despite signing up.

TheDrsDocMartens · 04/10/2020 22:10

I liked the kukubird leggings but I’m too overweight 😫 definitely not losing it fast enough to justify buying them yet.

Hophop26 · 04/10/2020 22:11

@UselessInDisguise I kept going back to them too, but weather is so utterly rubbish and grey that funky leggings have got to make life a bit more interesting so I have gone for them!

Puffalicious · 04/10/2020 22:26

Mumof2boys M&S have gorgeous, soft Minecraft and XBox socks I'm going to go back for when DS3 not with me!

Lockdownlumpy · 04/10/2020 22:52

Kukubird leggings - I wear next jeans in a 14, would I be ok with the normal ones or would I need curve?
There's not much choice for curve ones.

Piedpiper4 · 04/10/2020 22:53

Does anyone have the kukubird link please? I've searched the thread and can't find it. Thanks

shash1982 · 04/10/2020 22:58

Congratulations cherry, hope you and baby Arwen are well. Love the name.

Does anyone know of any discount codes for paperchase? Found a few ideal stocking fillers on their website.

shash1982 · 04/10/2020 23:01

Also cherry, if you Google console bath bombs it shows loads of PlayStation controller looking bath bombs if that helps for a stocking idea.

Muddlewitch · 04/10/2020 23:05
