**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Re giving to charity, we are going to give to women refugees centre gifts this year so there is some gifts to open for the kids and women. Dd1 best friend has lived in a women refugees centre with her mom fleeing domestic violence and have given us some ideas what to get.. the stories she sometimes tells me makes me just wanna cuddle her big time and shield her from all bad, poor little thing.

EvilHerbivore · 04/10/2020 18:02

@Luxplus I work in a refuge so a personal thank you for thinking of families fleeing this Christmas 🎄

Puffalicious · 04/10/2020 18:17

,cloud1921 you've made me all teary and filled me with very early christmas spirit.

Last year I collected via FB and a work Christmas fayre to help a local charity provide for 3 local families. It was a wonderful thing to do- getting excited about buying toys and books the children would like, warm clothes and nice, Christmas food. The charity aren't active due to Covid but you've made me think I'll contact our food bank to see if they're doing similar. Thank you.

recklessgran · 04/10/2020 18:17

Wow, apologies @ClaraLane and congratulations of course! I don't know how I missed clocking your little one but hope you've been enjoying your newborn too.

Don't get them mixed up or you'll be bathing in gin and blowing bubbles!
MissRabbitIsExhausted · 04/10/2020 19:15

@Theimpossiblegirl I was just thinking that I probably would get them mixed up knowing my luck 😂

Chocolatecake12 · 04/10/2020 19:32

Popped into my local Sainsbury’s today and they had some toys at half price. Play doh and nerf guns etc.

GarlicSoup · 04/10/2020 19:39
**@GarlicSoup, Most of the deeply discounted Penhaligon’s items seem now to be full price or close to it. For example, the £3 lip balm is back up to £12.

The only bargain things I can find are the mystery gift sets

Delivery is free on any UK purchase now.
Thank you @Brashopper

Has anyone seen any decent quality stockings for sale? I need to get two of the same design for my baby gjrl's first Christmas. A friend gave me tip of having two the same, so you can repack one to replace empty one with. Means if a kid was to wake when the stocking was missing, there would be no questions and it's so much less stress than trying to pack it all in, in a hurry.

Raindancer411 · 04/10/2020 20:30

Stupid fone keeps changing my sentences. That did all make sense before and it's prepack, not repack 🙄

SayNoToCarrots · 04/10/2020 20:31

I've gone back for more KuKuBirds @lifelongfrugaleer.

I am 10st/5ft7 and they fit really well. I have worn them with leggings underneath for extra warmth and no issue with stretch. When I bought the first pair I was 11st (been on the 5:2) and they fit well then, too. They are not the most amazing of qualities - and I mean that literally. They are fine/good, but not so amazing you'll die. They are a kind of lycra ish material. I'd wear them to the gym if I could ever get over my pathological apathy. They are very comfortable and also long, which with stretchy leggings usually means enough material to expand widthways too.

For 2 for a fiver it is a definite bargain, but I am incredibly stingy so I wouldn't pay full price. For £12 I buy jeans 😂.

@Sneezein3s I also sneeze in threes, every time, without fail and I saw this tin teaset in Beenums just today. It looks very nice and no china to smash?

STARE2016 · 04/10/2020 20:34

Thank you everybody for the dachshund ideas. Going to sit down and go through them all now!

Rather than buying two you could do what my parents did - we left it on our beds and then “Father Christmas” would fill it for us and leave it outside our door so we didn’t knock it off the bed while we were sleeping.

@chickensoup23 Thank you
