Thread 10 - the one where everyone starts writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 03/10/2020 12:04

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

horses and ponies monopoly

Try again with that link now I've read the instructions properly.

Sneezein3s · 04/10/2020 10:37

Morning everyone! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a tea set for a six year old. She wants to make ‘proper’ drinks in it so I want the cups to be a decent size. I have toyed with the idea of getting her a melamine full size set? It’s all she’s asked for for her birthday so I’m happy to spend a bit more. Thanks

ThePurpleGirl · 04/10/2020 10:39

Thanks @IggyAce for the Aldi hot chocolate snowmen. My two loved the ones from Tiger last year so I've bought a few.

Not a deal but pretty cheap if anyone is thinking they might do a Halloween chocolate hunt (like an Easter egg hunt but Halloween) this year instead of trick or treating. Aldi had netted bags of small wrapped Halloween themed chocolates like pumpkins, eyeballs and ghosts. I'm sure they said 79p but scanned at 49p. They also had a pack of 10 individually wrapped Halloween chocolate lollies which again I'm sure we're labelled 99p but went through at 79p.

ThePurpleGirl · 04/10/2020 10:40

sorry I've just realised that was all Halloween not Christmas Blush

thisisexhausting · 04/10/2020 10:40

kinetic Dino kit this kinetic sand kit is in offer in Argos Dow to £10.99

VividImagination · 04/10/2020 10:41

Argos have quite a few nice toys in their clearance section. They won’t be available in every store but Lego, Playmobil etc. Also this cute unicorn

girlsyearapart · 04/10/2020 10:44

Thanks for the match attax info @Muddlewitch just ordered 😊

angstyalways · 04/10/2020 11:03

@Sneezein3s what about this one

TheRosariojewels · 04/10/2020 11:19

@Sneezein3s

I think at 6 I would just buy a proper ceramic tea set if she wants full size. The dollies tea sets are usually tiny. You can often get really nice, good quality, barely used tea sets in Charity shops. Or I would buy a cheaper set if you want new, then it's not a big deal if there ste breakages.

TheRosariojewels · 04/10/2020 11:19

are not ste?!

finallyfoundkeys · 04/10/2020 11:24

Jacamo have 20% off if you buy through the app. Minimum spend £50.

Wtfdidwedo · 04/10/2020 11:35

Disney Store have just emailed me individual codes for 20% off and free delivery that can't be stacked. I don't think I'll use them as I had 35% off through the Blue Light Card, as did my husband, so I'm unlikely to need anything else soon! PM if you'd like them.

Sneezein3s · 04/10/2020 11:37

@angstyalways thanks they’re really cute but too small.

@TheRosariojewels I think you’re right. Going to Morrison’s might see if they have any sets aimed at students as it’s probably the wrong time of year for picnic type sets

Thank you both x

Puffalicious · 04/10/2020 11:40

nocutsnobuts Thanks so much for the leggings deal! Have ordered 3 sets for 3 teens and a few sale items too. Brilliant.

ScoobySnacker · 04/10/2020 11:45

Smiggle have their Advent Calendar on offer today £20 instead of £28. No idea if it's any good tho my teen is past her Smiggle days

EnglishRose1320 · 04/10/2020 11:48

@Sneezein3s this is a nice set that's not too pricey

tea set

Brashopper · 04/10/2020 11:50

@GarlicSoup, Most of the deeply discounted Penhaligon’s items seem now to be full price or close to it. For example, the £3 lip balm is back up to £12.

The only bargain things I can find are the mystery gift sets

Delivery is free on any UK purchase now.

2anddone · 04/10/2020 11:52

Got a great popcorn maker cart (air popper) including postage for under £20 at hawkins - thanks for the link, hadn't seen that before. Similar poppers are going for 50+ on Amazon. Will be great for my popcorn loving kids over winter!

ScoobySnacker · 04/10/2020 12:08
