Thread 10 - the one where everyone starts writing the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 03/10/2020 12:04

NEW INFO PLZ READ
**please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

zigzagbetty · 04/10/2020 12:23

Looking for ideas for my 75 year old mother in law who has everything she needs. Was thinking photo gifts or maybe a flower subscription but its not very imaginative.

SomethingOfTheNight · 04/10/2020 12:26

I too have bought Christmas Monopoly; used IWEH15 to get 15% off.

CompleteBarstool · 04/10/2020 12:26

@Sneezein3s ...how about an espresso set? This one at Rex London is only £4.95. (+ P&P)

@Sneezein3s We had the Emma Bridgewater nelamine one. Takes real drinks and the cups are a decent size. Quite durable. Rarely a bargain though it lasted years.

sorryiasked · 04/10/2020 12:30

@zigzagbetty magazine subscription?

clouise89 · 04/10/2020 12:31

@Wtfdidwedo
I would love the code if it is still going, I missed the blue light discount being indecisive!

The iwoot discount code stacked for me on already discounted items by the way , I just purchased the snaffling advent for £14.40 , and one of the adoption items, :) x

clouise89 · 04/10/2020 12:38

lego hidden side is on offer on amazon, lots of different sets

Tangled01 · 04/10/2020 12:45

First post after lurking for years, really appreciate all the bargains I've had (Spode, Harry Potter books, Landsend). My wee one is hoping for an Our Generation doll this year, haven't been able to find any bargains but noticed if you sign up to the official website this weekend they give a 20% discount code on full price items. Hope this helps some one else.

Yeknom · 04/10/2020 12:46

Ha @EvilHerbivore I thought you meant Lego Friends - as in the Friends Lego/Heartlake City stuff 🤣. If anyone sees any of the latter in clothing stuff anywhere I'd be most grateful. The tshirt she has from H&M is her most prized outfit so it'd be nice to get her some other bits.

luckiestgirl · 04/10/2020 12:47

@Cloud1921 (or anyone that knows how)

I’d also love details of how to be joined to a family to put together a box of Christmas food and presents for them. Is it a national charity or a local scheme?

lolarabbit · 04/10/2020 12:53

@STARE2016 - I love dachshunds too and you've set me off on a bit of a search! The Works have a super cheap mini notebook which might be a good stocking filler but there is masses of stuff on Etsy such as stationery, T shirts, hair accessories. Particularly like this dachshund Christmas wrapping paper

Paper chase have 50% off the 50% off items. Plus a free massive gift bag if you spend over £20.

I picked up a lovely lunch bag for a girl for £4.50. A notebook for £3.00. A writing book which gives you the first line of a story then a page to draw the picture (£8 reduced to £1). 2 drawstring bags with wings for about £3.50 each. A grandma cup for £2. All look lovely. They had rucksacks for £7.50. All in store.

[quote Bumbleumbo]This lovely independent shop local to me has Spode Christmas items on sale up to 35% off. I’ve just purchased these lovely mugs for our Christmas Eve box. Cheaper than the Spode and free shipping over £50. They also stock Emma Bridgwater at reasonable prices.
