Thanks @Anydreamwilldo12 for thread title

please read the thread is moving so fast atm and it’s pretty hard to keep up! I was just wondering on people’s thoughts on this so did a super quick questionnaire here . I’m not sure we’ll find a perfect answer to suit everyone but would love your feedback on if it’s an issue or not.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@BeGoneDom we have a reusable one my MiL gave us a kit to make for my eldest. The first couple of years I felt it led to a lot of plastic rubbish which I generally try to avoid. Last year I put some chocolate coins in but most days had a slip of paper with an activity i.e. do Christmas colouring, watch a Christmas film, decorate the Christmas tree, make Christmas cards etc. It worked much better imo.

FireflyGirl · 03/10/2020 09:32

@Jess26385 Holland and Barrett do a vegan make your own beauty products kit, which is £15. However, there have been lots of codes for 20-30% off, so worth keeping an eye out.

woodwaj · 03/10/2020 09:32

@MsMiaWallace I usually wait till closer to Christmas as I've normally found a code for some money off but its defo a nice gift to give I think! I buy it for others after being given it myself!

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 03/10/2020 09:33

Thank you Firefllygirl, it's showing as £39.03 for me, I wasn't quick enough!

Gustavo1 · 03/10/2020 09:34

Sorry to ask for repeat information.

There was an aeropress recommendation from a small company that came with some coffee?

EvilHerbivore · 03/10/2020 09:37

@Gustavo1 think that was pact coffee

For someone who asked about a coffee advent calendar from last year, was it Beanies?

I was too slow for the Sept JL lego offer Sad, does anyone know if they usually do anything similar nearer christmas or if its worth waiting for Prime Day or Black Friday for any decent lego offers? DS christmas list seems to be mainly Jurassic world or city lego sets!

MonaChopsis · 03/10/2020 10:19

There was talk on an earlier thread about Wonderboom 2 speakers as a gift. The black ones are now reduced to £49 at Amazon, which is their best ever price according to Camel Camel Camel.

I have a new phone and am still learning to drive it but hopefully this link will work!

Please has anyone any advice on buying Ugg slippers. It's the only thing MIL has requested. 10%off from the ugg site is the best I can find. I'm loathed to spend £72 on slippers. Thanks

@Jess26385 try plastics free. They have some nice gifts. All ethical and mostly vegan. I buy a lot from them.

@BeGoneDom as another poster said, we do a lot of experience things in the advent calendar. Films, baking etc. We used to also put in things like pantomime tickets, visits to Santa which unfortunately won’t be happening this year. But maybe going to watch Christmas lights being switched on? Or one idea which I got from this thread years ago and have done every year since.. bundle the kids up in the car with a hot chocolate In a travel mug, play Christmas music and drive round the local area looking at all the lights. Each dc has to pick which house they think has the best lights. It sounds naff but they love it.
Other ideas could be wooden food from wilko? They do lots of fun bits - eg pizza in a takeaway box, the slices Velcro together. Ikea do good play cooking utensils. Christmas books could be another idea.

Grrrpredictivetex · 03/10/2020 10:36
@Grrrpredictivetex I have a £5 off £30 for Lakeland?
That would be great thank you.

Sunshineskies · 03/10/2020 10:36

@Bridecilla have you tried redbubble? I always find them good for buying random youtuber merch.

Hophop26 · 03/10/2020 10:37

Way back on one of the early threads there were quite a lot of people looking at the Usborne Jigsaw and Book sets, lots back in stock around £5 on amazon and make a nice gift, but was more to say that there are several Christmas/winter ones now too and smaller number of pieces so good for younger ones

Bezzi · 03/10/2020 10:37
