We bought our ds the den building kit from the works a couple of years ago, he is 7 now. He loves it and we use it a lot. Only thing I would say is we bought a second pack so we can make bigger dens and you need to be careful to hold the sticks near the end when putting them together as the can bend. My 2 dc love it.

@ShoppingBasket I’m after attack on the burrow too. I’m hoping Smyths do some kind of toy event, even if you have to order/pay online and then pick up in store (this is the only way around the social distancing thing I suspect!) as it’s a Smyths only set, no one else can price match and it’s £90!

There’s a couple of boxes of slime and some roller skates I need too.

On that subject does anybody know whether there is a huge difference between cheap toy-shop skates (4 wheel jobs with a brake bumper at the front) or ones from a skate website that work out about £15-20 dearer?

I'm going to see how cheap I can get towelling and knock some up myself, they won't be perfect that's for sure but hopefully cheaper that what we've found so far

I haven't had much to add to the threads this year. However I am going rl shopping on Monday so hopefully I will find some bargains to add. I feel I owe you all at least one decent bargain as with all your amazing finds I am nearly done and at a fraction of the cost. With the news now advising people to get organised asap I am so grateful that these threads exist.

Buns arrived this morning and given my city has just gone into local lockdown I don’t think they will last until the Christmas season!

The box is pretty sizeable so if anybody was wanting to put them in a stocking it might not fit!

I think smyth's usually have a Black Friday event but I don't know if they would include an exclusive HP set in it.

@Givealittlebit The Cheese Shed do lovely cheese hampers, wrapped in waxed paper with a menu. They come in a nice box or you can pay extra for a wicker basket. You can also add knives/chutney etc. I've both received one and sent them and it's always been good.
