Thanks @ClaraLane for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Asda have some good rollbacks on toys. Including a box box of Lego classics.

Rockhopper81 · 10/09/2020 09:53

I also recommend the Lidl waterproof dungarees - we bought them to have at nursery for wet weather/muddy play, and they lasted really well! Plus roomy enough for 3/4 year olds to get on themselves. We had mostly 2-4, with a couple of pairs of 4-6 for taller children, and we never had a problem with the sizes. I know my colleague bought a pair each for her children as she was impressed with them!

@Allhallowseve

Hi all thanks for the bargains ! I don't have a bargain to share yet but after some Christmas wisdom .... this is our first year in new house we have a small front living room with bay window but can't fit a tree there as there is a chair in the way Sad We can have a tree in our back room however I have a 7 mth old puppy and a 6 month old baby who I expect will be cruising by xmas . What can I do? Any ideas for decorations pleaseee??
We put our tree in the baby cage! We have one of the modular baby pens, and built an enclosure around the tree, with a gate in it, so DD could get closer under supervision. It worked really well!

It would have also worked with one of the octagonal wooden baby pens.

Excuse the poor image/mess, it was 3 years ago!

@Allhallowseve unless it's a massive chair or tiny bay you could for a small tree in maybe? Or just some little candle type lights in the window.

We have a 20 year old hand me down tree that is from Tesco but still looks great when dh does the decs. It's not massive but we put it in the far corner of living room on a little Ikea lack coffee table & looks fab & probably looks like a massive tree from outside! Lots of space under the table for presents

Hophop26 · 10/09/2020 10:04

Melissa and Doug puppets back on at £4.99 on Amazon - pet buddies 6 pack

Spam88 · 10/09/2020 10:11

@Vebrithien that tree 😍

I've just been to Tesco, if you're going then it's worth a look at stationery and toys - some good reductions. Packs of stickers for 38p, lots of balls and water toys under £1, and 100 ball pit balls for £1 which is a MASSIVE bargain. Lots of grown up stationery half price as well.

Has anybody seen any deals on wooden Thomas trains to fit brio track. Dd2 is suddenly a big Thomas fan and already has brio track

LadyCatStark · 10/09/2020 10:17

@22Giraffes if you can get to a JD store, if they don’t have the trainers in stock, they’ll order them for you and they’ll come to your house next day delivery for free 😊

NoWordForFluffy · 10/09/2020 10:27

@17caterpillars1mouse, have you tried BargainMax? There's a Thomas sale on right now.

mogtheexcellent · 10/09/2020 10:31

@Allhallowseve House with 2 dogs, 2 cats, one child, one very clumsy DH. Never caged in the tree ever. And we have a 6ft real one.

Jus taught DD not to pull it and hung all the felt decs at the bottom. Kept all the heirloom decs off for a couple of years.

Sounds like a small tree might be better for the space though. Worth checking if you can hire a real one in a pot. Will be heavier than a false one and less easy to tip over.

villamariavintrapp · 10/09/2020 10:32

Tkmaxx have some nice earrings from meme London for around £10-15. memelondon I haven't seen them, but they do seem to sell them on their own website and in Harvey Nichols for over £100. So maybe a good deal if you like them?

JinglesWish · 10/09/2020 10:33

My friend had her tree on top of her coffee table for years. Don’t assume all kids need to be kept away from trees though. Neither of mine have been interested in my 8ft cover in lights and gold baubles tree. Actually DC1 once picked a glass bauble off when he was was 3 and gave it to me, but that’s it. Maybe they know it’s mummy’s treasures, so hands off 😂

DinosaurOfFire · 10/09/2020 10:34

@17caterpillars1mouse TootallyThomas.co.uk have some good prices on wooden Thomas trains. Or there are fb groups where people sell second hand ones.

Vebrithien · 10/09/2020 10:35

@Spam88 Thanks!

We always used to have a real tree, starting at university with a little pot one, and picked out two new, usually glass decorations each year. When DD was 1, we decided that we had to go artificial. Can't remember the brand (American), but it's a 7 foot, with two different textures. The tag line is "so good it will even fool Santa!".

There is no theme, it gets busier each year, and we buy a decoration each year for DD now, to start building a little collection for when she leaves home.

Please forgive the gratuitous extra photos! This was last year.

@superstar84 my DD has the blue frozen one and she loves it. You can link to an app on your phone that unlocks levels when they hit their goal. You can set chores on it and it has timers for teeth brushing etc. Its really good. We paid £40 on offer so that's a bargain! She is 6 btw

gingerbeerandlemonade · 10/09/2020 10:42

Hi all, thanks for the joules tip! Bought some lovely jumpers for my boys. I'm looking for a train table for my toddler's birthday. Does anyone have any recommendations or seen them for a good price? Thanks.

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/09/2020 10:44

@beccarooney are you still after Lakeland codes? Ive got £5 off a £30 spend and £10 off £50 (the latter for MyLakeland Club members only) PM me if you are interested.

greyinganddecaying · 10/09/2020 10:46

@superstar84

Had anyone used the garmin vivoactive 2 watches that are £29.99 in Argos & amazon?

Debating getting one for Dd who is 5, she's got a Vtech one that she loves but as it's got a camera on it she's been asked not to bring it into school

I've just bought one for my 10yo who has lost my old one Hmm. I'm thinking that it may be more basic than others, but he's mainly interested in counting his steps, so will do the job.

ShellyLou1234 · 10/09/2020 10:47

@Hophop26 Pls do you have a link for the puppets Thank you.

ClaraLane · 10/09/2020 10:48
@Someaddedsugar I am a huge fan of the Lidl waterproofs as well and have them in various sizes, agree they are roomy, particularly the dungarees, last ages and ages. After 1-2 it’s dual sizes 2-4 and 4-6. I’m debating if I need to stock up on next size!
We’re off to get some shortly for DD and some nursing vests for me. Don’t forget to download the Lidl plus app to get £5 off a £20 spend!

17caterpillars1mouse · 10/09/2020 10:53

Just seen the sylvanian family monkeys on ebay, brand new for £7.47

Rockhopper81 · 10/09/2020 11:05

Aargh - not quick enough for the Sylvanian monkeys! My niece has some Sylvanian creature as figures in her dolls house, but no monkeys...will keep an eye out! Smile

Allhallowseve · 10/09/2020 11:19
