Thanks @ClaraLane for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@IggyAce 🤣🤣🤣 you can definitely join the support group. Damn Puppets Anonymous!

Emiliemoo · 15/09/2020 11:19

@peasando I ignored the first couple of puppet posts as I didn't think I wanted them. Now I absolutely need them to boost up DS's present stash but I'm just not quick enough

TheSeedsOfADream · 15/09/2020 11:32

Well, 2 lovely tree of life necklaces and a bracelet have just arrived.
Anybody have any idea where I ordered them from? Postmark is Hong Kong. I've not been on Ali yet. Confused

nugget18 · 15/09/2020 11:33

Been real life shopping this morning. TK maxx have toot toot advent calendars for £12.99. Home bargains have black panther and my little pony busy book for £2.49.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 15/09/2020 11:49

@mumontherun14
I'm still waiting on my order from the 3rd. Their website says it's taking up to 14 days to ship due to the sales popularity

DumplingsAndStew · 15/09/2020 11:58

My Cox and Cox parcel just arrived. I got a lovely star wreath and some wooden star tags. Very well packaged also.

I think you can't beat The Night Before Christmas for Christmas Eve reading. It's the book I read to my children before bed every year. They are now 12 and 15 and the 15 year old just asked the other day if we could read something else instead this year. I, of course, said no 😄 as its tradition, but said I'll read something extra with it if she picks something.

Another fave has been Santa Claus (or maybe Father Christmas) Needs a Wee.

KavvLar · 15/09/2020 12:03

@Sunshineskies thank you for the Hobbycraft tip, just got some half price pens for my niece.

Connellschain · 15/09/2020 12:11

When will the puppet posts end... Grin

LittleMissA · 15/09/2020 12:15

Has anyone bought anything from this company at all?

www.wildlifecollections.com/products/the-journey-bracelet

They have bracelets with turtles on, each one then comes with the details of a turtle that you can track. A percentage of the proceeds goes to charity. I thought it was a nice way of doing an adopt an animal gift.

I just wasn't sure if they are genuine etc as they just popped up on Facebook.

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 15/09/2020 12:18

@EvilHerbivore

Wondering if anyone had any recommendations - I always put a book in the Christmas Eve box to read altogether just before bed but DSs are 7 and 10 this year so struggling to find something lovely and Christmassy but not babyish? Ideally a book I could read to them in one sitting
The Christmas Day kitten by vet James Herriot will make you cry. Or Christmas on Exeter street.
AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 15/09/2020 12:19
@EvilHerbivore my dc love Christmas on Exeter Street. Bought when they were little but still love age 10. I enjoy it too haha. It’s very lovely and makes me feel all Christmassy.
Jinx! I can't believe another person knows and loves this book!

TheGriffle · 15/09/2020 12:27

I’m so annoyed you can only get one lightning deal per account. Dd has 3 good friends so I’ve bought one but you can’t buy multiples.

superstar84 · 15/09/2020 12:30

What lightening deal was that?

Tiggles · 15/09/2020 12:32

@evilherbivore you won't read it in one sitting, but the father Christmas letters by Tolkien are fabulous. The letters he wrote to his children to arrive each Christmas morning. Tales of the clumsy polar bear and naughty goblins.

Or Michael morpurgo on angel wings is lovely, and I still enjoy the fourth king.

BeGoneDom · 15/09/2020 12:39

@peasando puppets go go go

JustanotherTuesday · 15/09/2020 12:47

@Tiggles my DH is a big Tolkien fan, is
that book suitable for an adult ?

newroundhere · 15/09/2020 12:50

Puppets are just back!

peasando · 15/09/2020 12:51

BREAKING NEWS

I got the damn puppets!!

Now we'll just have to see if I can look at them without some sort of PTSD reaction...

(I might stop talking about the puppets now 😉)

£5 off £30 spend at Body Shop, code 19805

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 15/09/2020 13:03

@Tiggles I’d say the Tolkien book is suitable for an adult too. I find it lovely to read and it’s so interesting to read the letters sent around and during the war.

This version of The Nutcracker looks lovely and special enough for Christmas Eve yesbebe.co.uk/books/30720-the-story-orchestra-the-nutcracker-katy-flint/?search_query=Orchestra&results=4
wherethewavesarehighest · 15/09/2020 13:08

The Playmobil Climbers and cabin is reduced on Amazon to £23.95 from £54.99, although I'm not sure how true the original price is. Not sure I'll be getting it as it would definitely be more for me than dd Grin
Climbers and Cabin

JustanotherTuesday · 15/09/2020 13:13

@SomethinInTheWaySheCooks Thanks I think my DH would like that as it does sound like his sort of thing and he's quite hard to buy for.

buckeejit · 15/09/2020 13:18

Puppets are gone again! ☹️

margaritasbythesea · 15/09/2020 13:19
