Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

Firefly I have an old lady pill sorter but don't think I've ever used it 🙄
I tend to keep my BP meds wherever I am (so I had some in my handbag, some next to my side of the sofa and some on my bedside cabinet. Now also have them in an odd and sods box in my spare room / home office). I very rarely forget them altogether but the times I take them are sporadic.

Do you have any pics of your projects Biddy

Wreck I can send you wine 🍷 but would also turn down the 10 year old.

why awful hay fever here this year too.

puss what is Only Connect?

My cold is now at the ultra runny nose and congestion causing pressure behind my eyes phase. I'm so attractive, DH keeps telling me he's a lucky man 😂

I'm going to steam it out in a shower then cross stitch in bed 🤧

NerosFiddle · 21/09/2020 20:58

M&S emailed me today to say this year they have Percy mince pies. Probably sickeningly sweet but I'll still give them a whirl

MarshmallowManiac · 21/09/2020 21:06

Trying in vain to make peanut butter cookies. These are a gf one that I am trying without flour but so far they seem extra crumbly and not glueing together too well. Will still power through though Grin Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 21/09/2020 21:16

That sounds really very wrong, Neros!

Crazy, It's a quiz, but requires lateral thinking to "link" things, rather thank outright knowledge. I hope you're feeling better this morning.

Fluffy, I'm officially a saddo, I got the Skoda question and the Musicals with the first picture. 😂😂 DH nearly fell of the sofa!

Nero, I can't even imagine what that looks or tastes like.

CrazyBaubles · 22/09/2020 07:31

Morning! I managed 6 broken hours of sleep for the 4th night in a row so I've woken up miserable.

puss I'll have to watch that quiz, but I'm quite a literal person so I expect I'll struggle.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2020 08:00

Morning!

Crazy, my sleep wasn't great. I woke with a sore neck yesterday, so must've slept funny and last night I was conscious of not sleeping funny, so slept badly. Hmm

I've been for my jog. It was really murky when I left the house. Very autumnal indeed!

DH is keen for me to rehydrate post-jog. A photo of my breakfast is attached! 😂

Morning.

It's ds first proper day of school today. He's so excited to be in his new uniform.

I think the Percy pig mince pies will be overly sweet but I still want to try them.

Fluffy do you have an actual desk at home? Dh has to work at the kitchen table when wfh and his back and neck end up in agony.

Crazy hope you feel better today.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2020 08:31

Awwww! Good luck to your DS, Neros!

And yes, I have a desk, but I need a proper chair. I'll get my new employer to send one / refund me for buying one, I think. I had to WFH a couple of days a week when I first qualified, so set myself up then. I do have to keep telling DH it's not a dumping ground anymore though that man loves to abandon shit on every damn surface in the house.

CrazyBaubles · 22/09/2020 09:53

Not all those drinks are for you are they Fluffy? 😂
I can't drink much in one go - it makes me feel sick.

I don't know how you cope with a DH that leaves stuff where you work.
I'm set up in the spare room (which is a room with a sofa bed, my craft stuff filling a bookshelf and where the ironing board & clothes airer live). DH comes in and irons stiff and leaves the board etc out and that's bad enough!

Thank you Neros. I hope your DS has a lovely first day.

My head is pounding but I feel a bit better which is good. I don't look it though - my nose is bright red

I have a lovely 'reviewing docs and spreadsheets' day so am considering popping a Christmas film on. Any suggestions?

Mrsmadevans · 22/09/2020 10:03

Morning everyone 🤗
Have been missing in action here, firstly we were at darling daughter 2 house in Cardiff weeding and sorting out the garden, looking for carpet/ laminate flooring which she now doesn't want she's having carpet but that's another story🙄. Anyway 6:30 last night and the neighbour over the road and her husband, they are lovely people, she phoned us to say that he's fallen in the garage and she couldn't get him up ,so we went over, when we got their he had fallen flat on his face on top of a box and his throat was constricted by the box so he wasn't breathing , so we phoned 999 and they told us to do CPR and we did what we could do and then here came the paramedics who got him breathing after shocking him twice , then they took him to nevill hall and he's in intensive care, he's on a ventilator it doesn't sound very good 😓.
So hope everybody is ok I'll catch up sometime today . Am busy with everything for Dd2 . I think we done the broadband now , so today is the carpet man going there to measure the whole place, speak later just off to Mum's , we are knackered 🤗

WreckTangled · 22/09/2020 10:04

Crazy I'm the same and I can't drink cold drinks in the morning. Only coffee.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2020 10:09

They were all of my drinks, Crazy! I don't down then, they're drunk steadily! They're all warm too; I rarely drink a cold drink unless it's alcohol as I'm not keen.

DH drives me insane! 🤯 But never mind.

That's some drama, Mrs. I hope he's OK.

OP posts:
NerosFiddle · 22/09/2020 10:44

Mrs that's a lot. I hope he recovers soon.

Crazy what kind of film are you in the mood for? We watched the grinch yesterday. Not my cup of tea but dc love it.

Ds walked on onto school without so much as a glance behind him

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2020 10:56

Was it the animated Grinch with BC? I'm a soft twat and cried at that. 😂😂😂

You can't beat a Home Alone (1 or 2) film, I think.

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 22/09/2020 11:04

I found a Christmas films thread and am trying the Family Stone. Never seen it before, it seems ok for now.

Hope the neighbour is ok MrsMad

Neros the only version of the Grinch I like is the animated one with BC I also got a bit teary at it Fluffy

I try to keep Home Alone for nearer the time Fluffy as sometimes DH will give in and watch the second one with me.

BiddyPop · 22/09/2020 11:13

Here’s the last 2 XSt’s I finished, they’re getting more detailed as the year progresses. I still need to do at least 2 more but have another one to start tonight (camping lantern) and a few more nice small patterns I can use yet. All need some stiffener and a cotton backing sewn on, but that will be an early December job once all the XSt is done.

The placemats were the same as the Eiffel Tower cotton one I showed a few weeks ago, I finally finished the other 5 and managed to make them nearly uniform and pretty neat. I might make another set for another couple if I have time. And the knitting is a pretty plain double rib scarf in Aran weight yarn, in the colours of the local GAA club for DNiece (so there are a few bands of yellow mixed into the blue). Hopefully I will finish that in the next week (it’s a great “in the car” project while waiting for DD at school or training) and get a 2nd done for other DNiece.

BiddyPop · 22/09/2020 11:19

Only Connect is back!! Yay, will have to turn that on next week.

MrsMad, I hope setting up the house is going well and you/DD have found places for all your purchases!! Grin May she have many happy years there. And DH can relax and recover in peace now she's got it!

Nothing wrong with lots to drink in the morning - I drink a whole pot of coffee (2.5 mugs) and sometimes a hot water with lemon juice. And there is another coffee mid morning, and often at least 2 proper mugs of tea before lunch (as in, my proper work mug - its a Dunoon "Glencoe" shape, so holds 500ml, that's a proper cup of tea!! Grin ).

WreckTangled · 22/09/2020 11:20

I watched a crappy Netflix Christmas film the other day. It was awesome. And shit. I loved it.

BiddyPop · 22/09/2020 11:21

I'm nowhere near thinking about some of the XSt's that some of you talented ladies make though!!! I saw Fluffy's on the wall the other night and was blown away!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 22/09/2020 11:28

Sounds like your DS has got school sussed Neros

Hope your neighbour is soon on the mend MrsMad

DH's desk is immaculate Fluffy. Nothing is allowed on there that doesn't belong there. I can't say he's the same about the kitchen table though. Looking around now there's receipts, his glasses case and some seeds.

All the DC are out at work or school. DH is in his study on a very loud conference call and I'm pottering around the kitchen until after lunch then I'll take myself back to my boudoir for the afternoon with my crochet and the tv.

CrazyBaubles · 22/09/2020 11:43

Cute projects Biddy

I am 😱 at that amount to drink (but I'm in a constant battle to be hydrated). I drink a cup of tea in the morning (and don't always finish that), then I have a 1ltr bottle of squash which I aim to finish before I finish work around 4pm. I then aim for possibly another litre before bed and that's it and I don't always manage that

What film was it Wreck? Family Stone was rubbish 😠

Crafting from bed is lovely isn't it Woolly? I've done it a few times in the last few days as I've felt crappy and I love it.

Am also jealous of your DHs determination to look after his work space. Mine currently has my laptop, a keyboard, a box which I put my iPad on to watch things / do teams calls, a fan, a notebook, 2 pens, a toilet roll, an odd tissue, nose spray, my drink and a spoon on it Blush

WreckTangled · 22/09/2020 11:45

A Christmas inheritance Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 22/09/2020 12:16

I drink 4-5 litres during the working day alone. Probably another 1-2 litres on top! Seems a fair amount put like that. 😂

I'm glad it's not just me being a softy, Crazy!

Your cross stitches are lovely too, Biddy. I'm having a break for a few nights before commencing my next project.

Sounds like a nice, chilled, day for you Woolly!

We've been for our flu jabs at the pharmacy. Their computer system had crashed due to the number of people trying to book and they've had hardly any under 65 vaccines supplied to them and are down to about a dozen - well, 10 now I suppose Shock

Crazy I'd use the ironing board as an extension to my in-tray 🤨🤔 that might encourage him to put it away?
Mrs I hope you get some good news about your neighbour. Flowers
Nero How are you managing with DS at school? I bet he'll be chatting non-stop when you collect him. 😁
Biddy I love that little caravan.

Are we all watching Bake Off tonight, or shall we not chat spoilers about it until tomorrow some time?
