Here we go!

I've got a busy day tomorrow, so I'm starting this now, ready for when it's needed.

Full Strictly lineup here. 12 celebs is the full compliment, isn't it?

I've cleaned the downstairs toilet, and tidied the kitchen and living/dining room ready for DSMIL and her partner later this afternoon. The plan is to eat in the garden, but they may need to use the loo and they can see into the house!

DH tidied all of the toys away to clear the garden, and DS was helpfully getting them back out to play with, so I distracted him with the extendable feather duster. He's been playing with that for about 90 minutes now...

Taken me about twice as long as usual to do my little bit of cleaning, my hips are killing and I need a nap!

It's a good thing tea is takeaway!!

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 15:26

fluffy I recognise 5 of them (just). Get me, down the the kids🤣🤣

CrazyBaubles · 04/09/2020 15:26

puss I always request Lethal Weapon instead of Die Hard when DH suggests it. Partly because I prefer it and partly just to annoy him Xmas Grin

Which Filofax did you go for most?

I love having a diary / planner to write in but am never sure which one to go for.

Have you posted before under a different name Pear?

70 I'm not a Bruce fan putting that mildly so puss doesn't kill me but it appears he is requested on every thread 😂

Yay for a LW fan biddy 🥳

Ooh what takeaway are you having Firefly?

I've just finished work. Am watching Ashes to Ashes with ddog snoring next to me and cross stitching away.

Weekend plans include cleaning, hacking away at the garden, visiting sister, niece and nephews, food shopping, batch cooking, crocs stitching, Christmas planning and hopefully a cosy night in with a film (and DH) 😊

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 04/09/2020 15:38

Boots I love steam mopping. No idea why though.

FireflyGirl · 04/09/2020 15:52

Kebabs from the pizza shop, probably Crazy. We usually give DS a normal tea then we get takeaway after he's in bed, but tonight as it's a special occasion, he can also have chips when we get the takeaway! Lucky boy Wink

I need to cut back the raspberry canes in the garden, but they're just producing some late berries, so I'll give them a couple more weeks.

All of my climbers need a really good prune this year as well - they've had a fantastic summer as I haven't been able to train them properly, and have pulled their trellises over! Time for a hack job ready for next year! Is your DH free anytime, boots Wink

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 15:53

why it's very satisfying, taking the dirty mop head off and pulling a yuk face Xmas Grin

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 15:54

Firefly He's all yours if you want him, but you might have nowt left when he's finished Xmas GrinXmas Shock

FireflyGirl · 04/09/2020 15:59

Ooh, and DSis had her 20 week scan today and she's having a(nother) boy, due mid-January but due to health issues she'll probably be booked for a csection at the beginning of January, so there'll be about 2 months between our babies. She's such a copycat Wink

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 16:01

At least you won't need to start and AIBU about her nicking your DDs name well, I hope not Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2020 16:05

Ah, that's lovely, Firefly!

I'm not a LW fan, overly. Give me Bruce any day! 😂

When we moved in here, it took about 10 goes with the steam mop to get the kitchen floor clean. It was grim much like the carpets.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 16:20

fluffy I scrubbed our white yes, white kitchen floor with a toothbrush and neat domestos when we moved in, no way would a mop have touched it. The carpets weren't too bad, but the conservatory had to be left open for hours every day in November to get rid of the smell.

WreckTangled · 04/09/2020 16:28

That'll be so nice fire!

My friend just came round for coffee which was nice.

Tomorrow I'm going to pack school bags and iron some bits that need it (as they've been in drawers since March!) whilst dh takes ds to a football game then Sunday we will just chill and make the most of the last day before school starts.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2020 16:28

Our floor is black, so hid how bad it was! If it was white (or previously-white!) then I'd probably have done the same as you!

I went for a walk after lunch while I was procrastinating about the bloody name tapes. I was looking at all the hedges and bushes I passed to see if I could forage greenery for my Christmas wreath - a significant amount was deciduous so that's a non starter but came across about 4 bushes that may be sloes. Can someone cast their eye over my photo and let me know, please? I may end up making deadly nightshade gin...

Well done on the porch fluffy!

Sounds as though you all have busy weekends planned.

Here is my Filofax

NoWordForFluffy · 04/09/2020 17:03

That's very pretty, Most!

I wouldn't like to advise on sloes, I'm no Ray Mears / Bear Grylls, sadly.

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 17:29

Woolly there's an app where you can upload a pic and it will identify it, but...I can't remember what it's called.🤦‍♀️
However, a quick google shows deadly nightshade are small, glossy and black, not big-ish, dull and blue, which is sloe.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/09/2020 17:44

Boots I have Googled images of foraged berries. Deadly nightshade is more likely to be confused with wild blueberries but doesn't tend to grow in hedgerows so I think I'm safe. DH has that app so I'll drag him with me on my next walk. I'm ruling out lots of things so I'm hopeful they are sloes.

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 17:51

Woolly good luck and I hope you don't poison anyone with the foraging. Blueberries would be over by now, wouldn't they? Grin

NerosFiddle · 04/09/2020 17:54

Testing

NerosFiddle · 04/09/2020 17:54

It's working. I'm back!

NerosFiddle · 04/09/2020 17:56

I have no idea about foraging. I am not a survivalist in the least. If I was left alone in a Forrest I'd just wait to be rescued.

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 17:58

Hiya Nero Have you been having some technical issues? At least you're back to see Bruce in his vest Grin and Mel Gibson 🤣

pussycatinboots · 04/09/2020 17:58

Nero or get an Uber to take you back to civilisation? Wink
