Thanks @sorryiasked for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Not Christmas but my mum has just left a mental health hospital after 6 months (she has dementia) and I wanted to send a gift to the fantastic staff on her ward as a small thank-you. Any ideas?? Potentially chocolates/biscuits to share - any great deals?? Thanks!!

Fuckingfuckssake · 04/09/2020 13:15

My coasters arrived today, I need to thank someone for helping me with that and also to Bunny for the link to the Regatta eBay store.

XiCi · 04/09/2020 13:18

My coasters arrived today too Fuckingfuckssake. They're lovely, the grandparents will be made up with them.

thebrightestcoloursfillmyhead · 04/09/2020 13:29

Yay, so happy to see the Christmas thread back and can't believe some of you are almost done already! Very envious of the organisation skills... I try but fail every year and end up panicking in December 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

There's a sale on at Rex London, some great reductions on stocking fillers (or party bag gifts if you have birthdays coming up) and some festive bits and bobs too. Free delivery over £30.

I’ve not got any suggestions in terms of gifts but as someone who works in the NHS please can I ask you to write a thank you card/letter if there are any specific staff who really helped her while she was on the ward. They can use it as part of their appraisal and if they’re a registered nurse or above then I think they can also use it when they have to do their revalidation via the NMC to show how well they’ve been doing at work.

Rather than biscuits or sweets what about a nice selection of teas and coffees? Less calories but just as useful.

Lolly12 · 04/09/2020 13:54

Big thanks again for these threads and all the contributors. So many bargains had over the years. Now it's September dipping back in. Ordered the Photobox coasters (3 sets of four for about £16 delivered) so thank you whoever posted this first.

Just noticed this back/neck massager on Amazon comes to less than £30 if you apply 8% discount. Good price as not often below £30 and good reviews.

I'm looking for The Logo Board game as a cheap price if anyone sees it while browsing.

wherethewavesarehighest · 04/09/2020 14:16

Thank you for the Minecraft t shirt, my wee one will be over the moon with minecraft and sequins!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a decent but bargainous travel mug? Ideally no more than £20. It's for dp and his mugs usually end up getting lost at work, though last time he managed to run it over with his van Hmm

When I finished chemo I did a basket of lip salves and hand made soaps from a local maker. They were very well received .

@wherethewavesarehighest

I saw a fab looking Kitchen Aid one I was thinking of getting for Son-in-Law who is equally likely to run over it ,

I can only find the cream version at the moment and I want black

@wherethewavesarehighest I have this travel mug & could not recommend it highly enough. I've had it for nearly 2 years and as an incredibly clumsy person, have dropped it more times than I can count! It has survived incredibly well, keeps drinks hot for ages and is actually leak proof. I went through a lot before that weren't!
