Thanks @sorryiasked for thread title

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

My Lisa Angel order from 27th July arrived this morning.

Came down at 8 to see a Royal Mail note posted through the letterbox to say it was on the doorstep. I've been awake since 7, and there was no knock, the postman obviously decided not to risk waking us up. Definitely earning his Christmas box Grin

The Lisa Angel order is presents for DMIL and DSIL, so they're all done, as are most of the kids we buy for. I'm due DC2 at the beginning of November, so I want to get as much bought and wrapped as possible before then. I don't want to be trying to buy Christmas presents while sleep deprived - I can't see that ending well...

I have a couple of questions if any of you wonderful bargain hunters can help?

Does anyone have the game What's That Smell? Would it be okay for Christmas Day or would it put everyone off their dinner😅

& has anyone seen a bargain on book storage that looks like the picture? It's essentially a box on stilts so don't know if I'd be better asking DF to make one😳

buckeejit · 04/09/2020 09:33

@tabbycat985 I'd definitely ask df to make one rather than buy one.

sorryiasked · 04/09/2020 09:36

@tabbycat985 not awfully bargainous but Gltc have a few book storage similar to your photo.

sorryiasked · 04/09/2020 09:37

Actually this one is cheaper

LatteLover12 · 04/09/2020 09:40

@tabbycat985 I can't see how much the ones linked by sorryiasked are, but you (or DF) can knock up something similar using IKEA kallax units laid down, bit of MDF on the bottom and some legs. It'd work out around £35 with four boxes, and £55 with 6 like the photo you posted.

girlsyearapart · 04/09/2020 10:11

Typo flash sale on metal water bottles £6 online only

FireflyGirl · 04/09/2020 10:16

@tabbycat985 if you Google 'IKEA book bin' it'll show you what I mean.

Alternatively, if you don't have an IKEA handy, Wayfair have this one which again you could lay on its back. I've never used them, but understand they're a decent company, and they're offering £15 off your first order, which would bring the price to £30, then another £10 or so for the legs.

BunnyBerries · 04/09/2020 10:25

@tabbycat985

If you image search 'Ikea book bin hack' you will find lots of ways to make the bookshelf.. I came across a couple of smaller alternatives which are cute too when I was looking for book storage a while ago.. below are Homebase (£20) and Ikea (£17)

Someaddedsugar · 04/09/2020 10:42

Just spotted this Peppa Pig advent book collection on Amazon pre-order - £15.39 reduced from £19.99

torthecatlady · 04/09/2020 10:43

My LA order from July just arrived! Smile

tabbycat985 · 04/09/2020 11:09

@buckeejit @sorryiasked @BunnyBerries @FireflyGirl
Thank you all so much for the links!
I'm feeling too pregnant to build from scratch but I'm definitely capable of the Ikea hack, & any excuse for an Ikea trip😂

IggyAce · 04/09/2020 11:12

@DoctorYang thanks for the link that’s something purchased for dh & dd and oops something for me, well I need a new scarf to go with the new Asda coat I ordered the other day.

BionicEar · 04/09/2020 11:12

tabbycat985 We have the what that smell game.

It is good fun but might not want to play straight after eating as some of the smells are hideous!

Some smell like they should whilst others don’t.

BionicEar · 04/09/2020 11:13

My Lisa Angel order has arrived. Really happy with it. That has sorted a few folk out for gifts. 😊
