Title inspired by the sweltering heat today but I’m still planing Christmas!!!

Thank you to chips for keeping the seat warm for me.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

My DD9 loves the colour in canvasses. She uses a fine paintbrush and acrylic paint. Very fiddly and takes ages! Win!

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, just in the UK so hopefully my neighbour can take in my Lisa Angel parcel if it arrives then. Need motivation to pack in this heat!

Oreocrumbs · 07/08/2020 09:59

Thanks for those suggestions @FireflyGirl, I think craft stuff will play a big part, and getting some more grown up things is the way to go. Oh how I miss the toddler days!

Hellokitty82 · 07/08/2020 10:16

@Oreocrumbs
Have you looked at smiggle they have a great sale on, also how about some kits to make some things together like bath bombs, jewellery etc....
or like a Christmas Eve box - a birthday box with things in

@Bluewavescrashing could you link me to one of those canvases I’m not sure I’m using the correct search criteria for Amazon. Thanks
MrsCrimbo74 · 07/08/2020 10:28

Probably been mentioned but Hollisters have got a good sale on, I’ve linked to the mens but there is a womans as well.

Bluewavescrashing · 07/08/2020 10:31

We got our colour in canvasses from Hobbycraft. Summery ones. But there are quite a few in the sale, lots of different designs!

Anyone else done swing set / large outdoor toys for Christmas presents before? Does it work or are kids a bit deflated by garden in dark December?!

SodOffCovid · 07/08/2020 12:35

Special thanks to whoever recommended the hygge bands.. Admittedly I ordered them for myself but they arrived today and they are FABULOUS, What a great deal

And a second huge thanks for whoever recommended the paw patrol fire truck... Again it arrived today with £40 off thanks to Very sale plus £25 off for new customers... It is amazing, my son is going to go mental and its such a steal at £33!! Especially as its discontinued on lots of places

Gracesquirrel · 07/08/2020 13:02

Can anyone recommend a custom Tshirt shop which does good quality printing? Over many years I have always got custom shirts for my (adult) son but last year he tactfully asked if I would consider just getting one from a proper outlet as the custom ones fade quickly or all the print starts to flake and peel off and the shirts themselves are not the best quality (despite what the printers claim).

Shitfuckoh · 07/08/2020 13:39

Hoping one of you great people can help Grin soon to be 3 year old is dinosaur obsessed, he has a few smaller dinosaurs but looking for a big ish one, not too big that he can't move it but one which will also last him playing with it - he's not gentle!

Any ideas on a decent quality one? Thank you

Hophop26 · 07/08/2020 13:43

@SodOffCovid totally agree the hygge bands are great! I’ve had mine for months and use them for running and wash them a lot and they have worn great and so versatile - when I bought them I never thought I would be considering using them as face masks!

FireflyGirl · 07/08/2020 13:55

@Shitfuckoh have you looked at Schleich?

DS has a few, they're very good quality and withstand rough play, and you can get larger ones eg this allosaurus. They're more expensive than other brands, but they hold their value quite well and you can usually get bundles on eBay or Facebook selling pages.

sorryiasked · 07/08/2020 13:56

@Shitfuckoh how big are you thinking? These 7" ones on Amazon have good reviews.

The sale at Lisa Angel isn't on anymore Sad

CrimeCantCrackItself · 07/08/2020 14:00

VTech switch and go dino £9.99 might be worth a look shitfuckoh There's loads of different ones They are dinosaurs but transform into cars. My 3.5 year old loves them and he is rough as balls on his toys, much slamming and chucking about.

CrimeCantCrackItself · 07/08/2020 14:04

4 large dinosaurs £35.99 DS has these too, definitely hardy, they've lived in the garden for about six months and you wouldn't know it. They're usually about £12/14 each, I got some from b&m, some from Amazon.

Vebrithien · 07/08/2020 14:12

The Playmobil website has some 20% discounts, including online exclusive sets. They also have some bundles at 20-35% off, free delivery over £30, and you can choose a free figure gift. If you're a new customer, and creat an account, then subscribe to their newsletter, they send a code for another 15% off.

Dr Botanicals has restarted their Rose products 70% off discount, with ROSE70

Some fantastic ideas there, thank you!
I really like the Allosaurus & the vtech ones.
It's his 3rd Birthday in a week so couple of last minute gifts but will be keeping eye on prices for Christmas too

Wtfdidwedo · 07/08/2020 14:32

Good to be back here again, think I join earlier and earlier every year. Children are 2 and 4 this year so a good age for starting to actually play with stuff properly! Eldest wants a "piano" but nothing else to go off for me yet. I was looking at the Fisher Price caterpillar coding thing which seems to be quite cheap on Bargain Max at the moment. Anyone have this and can shed any light on whether it's any good?

SodOffCovid · 07/08/2020 14:33

@Polkasquare I think it is...? Try this link www.lisaangel.co.uk/jewellery-sale

SodOffCovid · 07/08/2020 14:33

@Polkasquare I think they just took it off the menu items

MrsMime · 07/08/2020 14:41

Eek so exciting! My DS want the Oculus Quest. It's £££ but they deserve a treat as they've been stars during lockdown. Anyone seen/know of any deals?
