Why, I thought we did. Or is that the steamer I'm thinking about?! Who knows? It was a long time ago!

We have 'sunny intervals' today. It's mostly cloudy and a bit chilly. 🥶

Loving the McD's breakfast! And the wine, Nero! I got two bottles last week as I have a friend coming over tomorrow to sit in the garden round our firepit. I'm going to mow the lawn later on once it's dried out.

We've played outside after 8-9 or so. But not loudly. I wouldn't keep them in until 10 on a nice day. But 7 is silly o'clock.

Nero I don't like egg so we each had a cheesy bacon flat bread and a hash brown Grin

NerosFiddle · 10/07/2020 11:36

Fluffy I'd love a fire pit but dh thinks that they're too dangerous. Maybe when dc are a bit older we'll get one.

Wreck sounds nice. I've never had the flatbread. I tend to go for the same things all the time.

NerosFiddle · 10/07/2020 11:37

I do always get an extra hash brown out of shear greed.

MarshmallowManiac · 10/07/2020 11:39

Morning everyone.

Lovely and sunny here, hopefully can get a nice walk in this evening.

DH went to Lidl this morning for a few much needed bits. He arrived back with a LOAD of stuff which only came to £36, sure it would have been about £65 in Tesco/Sains/Morrisons.

Just booked a slot for the dump and ordered some paving slabs for our patio, productive day methinks Grin

Don't think we have ever had a pressure cooker (aren't they the ones that sing and steam like an old kettle). We have a slow cooker though where I cook yummy Cowboy Beans Wink

When my DC were younger would never let them play out at 7am, totally agree with your hours KV

Most definitely must be a Heavenly sign 70 and Mrs Wink

Going to do my daily workout soon (today it's Leslie Sansone with her 3 mile walk) totally recommend, followed by a nice, steaming bath.

Welcome Bear, so hope that we all are able to enjoy a wonderful family Christmas, as we so deserve it after such a horrendous year. Smile

MarshmallowManiac · 10/07/2020 11:42

Fluffy would love a firepit. Goes with my idea of having a Christmas/Winter bbq in the week between Christmas and New Year. Grin

WreckTangled · 10/07/2020 12:02

Bear lockdown is already over is it not? There will still be social distancing in place until there is a vaccine but it's whether or not people adhere to these rules.

I missed the dc out playing. Mine are usually still in bed at 7. I can't imagine them being ready to play out before 9 really.

WreckTangled · 10/07/2020 12:30

I didn't get an interview. Apparently lots of people with the correct qualifications applied HmmBlush

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/07/2020 12:33

DS is allowed in the garden at 8 but only if he is quiet. Noisier play such as paddling pool/climbing frame can start at 9.

Well DH went to the depot to get my parcels to find they are only open 7-9am at the moment and he had missed it by 10 mins Sad

His pants have arrived though!

Managed to get hold of Bluestone and we now have a long weekend booked there in late August (hopefully the pool will be open by then), one less night than we originally had booked but their availability was very limited so took what we could get. Price was quite a bit cheaper though so might use the spare cash to book a short glamping holiday too.

pussycatinboots · 10/07/2020 12:53

most I'm so happy for you! Thank the heavens that your DH pants have arrived WinkGrin

DH has been for the last of his long list of tests at hosp this morning - they seemed happy with him, so he just has to wait to be "signed off" so to speak with the consultant.

Never had a pressure cooker - aunt did and I was frightened of the steam Blush but then I don't like gas cookers/hobs either...it took until I was 45 for me to brave a tea light GrinBlush
We've 2 microwaves Grin one in the kitchen for beans (baked) and my mums old one (which is newer than mine) as a spare stored at the back of the garage...I think there's some "Spode" placemats and a couple of packs of Tetley in it Hmm

pussycatinboots · 10/07/2020 13:02

Nero YES sausage and egg McMuffin!

Wreck keep going - don't give up now!

Mrs how is Mr after yesterday? Is he still basking in the glory of his achievements? Grin

70 bravery award is in the post Smile

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/07/2020 13:14

Mum still has the steamer Fluffy it's almost 50 years old and looks it as well. 😂

pussycatinboots · 10/07/2020 13:27

why it's not an electric one, is it? That would worry me Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2020 13:27

I think she only makes the Christmas pudding in it, Why!

What a nightmare, Most. Are the opening times not on the card? Is it open tomorrow? You'll be getting withdrawal symptoms. Yay for the pants though! 😂

Neros, we've only just got the pit. We wouldn't have trusted the kids before now. And they aren't allowed to be out there alone with it when it's lit.

pussycatinboots · 10/07/2020 13:29

most bugger, I missed the update. New pants though! Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2020 13:29

Boots, the steamer sits on a saucepan. Not dodgy electrics there!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 10/07/2020 13:35

Fluffy, phew!
My dad tried to fix his old Gas CH Boiler (the pilot light had gone out) with a box of matches Shock
£1800 and a new boiler later (after the old one was irreparable and 36yrs old)...he was still convinced he could've fixed it🤔🤯

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2020 13:48

Sounds perfectly safe, Boots! 😂😂

Ahh Wreck that's a blow .
But (as my Dear Old Dad says) it's all experience - filling in applications , interviews etc.
He speaks some sense , my Dad.

I was thinking about Christmas Shopping today Xmas Blush there won't be any random meandering if there's Social Distancing in place .
Probably more online this year .

My Mum still has really old Pressure Cookers , I could not get on with them. You have to get the lid on right and find the metal valve . Then it's hit'n'miss reducing the pressure to open and see if they;ve totally marmalised your dinner .

Mine is a 3 litre base + a 6 litre base . One glass lid and one pressure lid ( both fit both) place , twist to secure and select the pressure by turning the valve . No sticking out handle either .

We don't tend to eat Christmas Pudding but a syrup sponge pudding is nice Xmas Grin

MarshmallowManiac · 10/07/2020 14:22

Sorry to hear that Wreck definitely next time Flowers But it's all good experience isn't it.

MIL has a boiler that is about 40 years old, we're trying to convince her that it's better to replace it in the Summer, rather than wait until it breaks down in the Winter. Not having much luck though Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/07/2020 15:13

Sorry to hear that wreck :(

They have taken the times off the red cards, I think because they are constantly changing as we are experiencing such a shortage of postal workers in our area. DH was assured by a member of staff there that it is open until midday tomorrow though so he will go then. He is very chuffed that he has his pants!

Went to the allotment and picked the remaining onions. Most of the garlic had completely toppled over so I pulled it up, some have formed cloves and some haven't. The sweetcorn cobs are starting to form. One plant had a lot of aphids but there was a big ladybird there so I let them be to see if the ladybird sees them off. If not I will deal with them!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2020 15:19

That's not very helpful, Most. I bet Saturday is their busiest day, hence opening for longer.

My standard size sweetcorn have their fluffy heads. The baby corn hadn't last weekend, but may tomorrow, hopefully!

My garlic was hit and miss too.

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/07/2020 15:27

Fingers crossed for your baby corn fluffy.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2020 15:31

It's good they're a bit behind as apparently if they get standard sized pollen on them they stop being baby corn! Who knew?! 😂🤣

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 10/07/2020 15:37

I definitely didn't know that fluffy!
