I have that one too KV :)

MarshmallowManiac · 08/07/2020 20:19

Must try that Crazy birthday is a little before Christmas. My DD bought me one a while ago but since we've moved can't seem to find it.

Still alive Wreck but only just Grin

Mrsmadevans · 08/07/2020 21:48

Well Bgr me there's all you youngsters having a CHRISTMAS PLANNER & l , who am a lot older have nothing ! time for some Sir Tom Grin
Most & KV too expensive for me but very nice if only l wasn't such a cheapskate Grin
Maniac Thank you for the planner idea it's very pretty but l am holding out for a Wrendale one from The Works but l quite like this although it isn't a Christmas planner it's just a journal but it reminds me of the time when my sister told my Mum l wanted to be 'top dog' www.theworks.co.uk/p/journals/a5-green-top-dog-motif-textured-journal/5051237067767.html you can get away with a month old Hummus while you are young but you wait till you are my age, straight through you Grin
Crazy ahh sweetheart that is awful! Everything crossed for you Star
70 we gave up on a tree one year when kitten was small , the next year they didn't care at all Smile
Wreck l have a few little Christmas trees in pots, every year after Christmas we buy them when they are reduced Last count was 8 Grin
l am wondering the same as Crazy. How have your bosses taken your resignation Fluffy? I did wonder if they would offer you more money/promotion to stay because they know you are such a hard working asset to the firm! Star

MarshmallowManiac · 08/07/2020 22:01

Love a bit of Sir Tom Mrs especially this .

That looks a lovely planner, love the colour too Mrs. Ahh oh to be young if only if only if only Grin The hummus will probably race through me as I sleep tonight Smile

Mrsmadevans · 08/07/2020 22:10

Maniac thank you for the link! OMG he is just amazing Smile Star
Hope you are ok and it doesn't upset your tum Flowers

MarshmallowManiac · 08/07/2020 23:28

Glad you enjoyed that Mrs, fingers crossed it's behaving itself at the moment anyway, just had a pot of jelly to soothe it Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/07/2020 23:57

Crazy / Mrs, they said they were upset to see me go, but couldn't compete with permanent working from home so wish me well.

I don't like hummus, though I like whole chick peas. Weird. A month out of date might be a step too far even for me, and I'm not fussy about BB dates.

It's raining here. Has been since about 6pm. I may need to build an ark! 😂

Can't imagine my life without hummus Fluffy but have never eaten anything that far out of date before. Usually I might chance a week or so. It was tucked at the back of the fridge and didn't see the date till after I had spread it on the bread. I smelt it and it smelt good so I thought I'd chance it. Grin Tomorrow will tell no doubt.

Morning.
Ooh, a deletion?! I wonder what it said
It's rained pretty much all day and all night here. Everything is soaking, the lawn was a bit squelchy. DH is threatening to karcher the path while it's damp as it will help "loosen the dirt" 🤯🤣
DH much preferred WFH, not just to save on the commute. It's the future Grin

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 09/07/2020 06:45

It was a bot boots, I saw it first thing and reported :)

WreckTangled · 09/07/2020 07:18

Morning. I've got the opticians today, well overdue. I usually spend £££ on designer ones but thinking it would be more sensible to just buy cheap ones as I only wear them for driving and if we go to the theatre and that won't be happening any time soon.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/07/2020 07:56

I buy up to the limit the health cash plan I generally get with work pays! (I've not had it in this job. I do in my new one, just in time for new glasses next January!)

It's soggy here too. I need to mow the lawn as it's scraggy now, so it needs to dry out somewhat!

CrazyBaubles · 09/07/2020 08:13

Wreck how big is your potted tree? I love idea of having one that we look after and use every year but not sure how realistic that is given my track record with most plants.

MrsMad I remember you saying you were buying some Christmas trees in pots. What will you do with them?

Marshmallow I hope you're feeling ok today!

Fluffy I'm glad your bosses aren't being awkward at least.
When do you finish this job / start your next one?

I buy Vision Express own brand glasses. I used to spend £££ on designer ones as I wear them all the time but we were short on money at one appointment so I bought cheaper ones and they were no different so I've stuck with them. I think I paid around £120 for glasses with the anti glare tint and prescription sunglasses last time.

I feel recovered from my interview now. It was a 30 min competency test then just under 1.5hrs of talking / questions. They were really nice and it wasn't uncomfortable, it just went on so long I'm not sure how they didn't run out of things to ask!! DH treated us to a Chinese takeaway to cheer me up though, so that was nice.

It's a miserable grey day here, which is great for the birds - they've been picking things to eat out of my garden all morning.
I am working and not doing anything much this evening - hormones are making me feel exhausted at the mo 😴

WreckTangled · 09/07/2020 08:31

It's about 2ft Grin I usually get the prescription then buy online. I think my ted baker ones were about £120 with the anti glare so if the own brand ones are similar I won't get them. Will have to wait and see.

WFH again. Pilates first.

FireflyGirl · 09/07/2020 08:39

Morning, fingers crossed for you Crazy. If they spent that long interviewing you they must be really interested!

We've always had a fake tree, just less mess, but I have also taken to buying a small real one in a pot from Lidl to put on the breakfast bar. I figure that way I get the best of both worlds!

I got my present yesterday, thank you. That's the right one Grin Might put it on later to cheer me up, it's so miserable outside at the moment. DS is going to DMIL's for a couple of hours, so I'm going to do some weed management on the allotment.

I have french beans to plant out, but the pigeons there decimated my peas and sunflowers, so I'm trying to think of how to protect the beans. I have netting, but nothing to string it over. I might be able to do a sort of fence about a foot high, wonder if that would work...

Enjoy your bench construction, MrsM Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 09/07/2020 09:19

Morning everyone. I have tried to catch up with what you have all been up to but I have not been on for ages. Thank goodness for bookmarking. Hope you are recovering from your ops those who have had them.

I never have a Christmas planner I always wing it I am ashamed to say, it always comes together though.

I am exhausted from work this week it has been horrendous and my neighbour woke me up drilling. Still only working 17.00 - 22.00 then off till Tuesday thank goodness.

KVlovesWinter · 09/07/2020 09:52

Morning

It must have rained quite a bit through the night, glad I didn't leave any washing hanging out. It's looking a bit nicer today we've got a little bit of sun and blue sky.

I thought it was Saturday when I woke up😁 not used to having days off midweek it's a bit strange

We haven't had a real Christmas tree for a couple of years the last one really set off my asthma. Got a half price fake one from Wilko last year which is really nice.

Not sure what to do today, it's just nice to be off work and the dc are all still in bed so I'm enjoying a coffee in peace and quiet 😀

Mrsmadevans · 09/07/2020 10:07

Morning everyone 😀
Just off to do the bench 🤣
he is dreading it 😂
See you all later have a great day everyone 😁

CrazyBaubles · 09/07/2020 10:28

I'm so glad it reached you Firefly - DH saw it and did a very suspicious 😒"you're not sending someone a Christmas card in July are you Crazy?" Xmas Grin

Good luck to MrMad today!

My house is freezing today so I've got a cardi and warm socks on with a blanket on my legs. I've also given in and put on The Santa Claus (the Tim Allen one) purely because I know the little chimes / bells they use as the soundtrack will make me feel cheery Xmas Smile

Mrsmadevans · 09/07/2020 10:36

@CrazyBaubles your day sounds perfect 😁
The potted trees we place all over the front and of the house and put lights on . Two in the either side of the porch. They look gorgeous 😍🤗

pussycatinboots · 09/07/2020 10:38

why I don't have a planner either, but then don't do any where near as much as everyone else Blush There's a list for cards in the back of an address book and that's about it Grin
I do make a "food" list in about sept and start to buy extra treats/freezer stuff supplies for the cats etc
At least you're getting a long weekend. Put your feet up and recharge.
Firefly can you put some temp netting over until you can get your hands on some bamboo canes and "lift" it up iyswim?
Mrs as long as your Mum doesn't come down on it like a ton of bricks I'm sure the bench will survive Grin your DH might need some Voltarol and a hot bath later! 🚑🏥💊🩺🙏🏻🙏🏻🛠🤐

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 09/07/2020 10:51

Boots I am glad there is someone else on a similar par with me.
