We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

Why l don't blame you booking A/L but l do hope things improve for you love. It sounds horrendous Flowers

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/05/2020 23:25

I am thinking about when I can book annual leave too, not for a holiday , but to visit my DParents .

I went to see them early March and had some A/L late March ( couldn't go to my Bro ) but of course , couldn't go to DParents either .

My workplace is going to get seriously busy once the restrictions are lifted as are many other work sites . (Off the top of my head I need Dental, Care Service + MOT and hairdresser )
Hopefully DBro will get to DParents after Lockdown and I can plan to visit later .

Wreck we had hail in July one year ! It mangled a load of my plants .

Anyone got a good recipe for chocolate chip muffins ?
I've looked at some (one had really poor reviews but I think the recipe was more cakey than muffiny)

Plain flour seems to be preferred with baking powder+/- bicarb
Oil or butter?
No cocoa , I want the base plain then I can add chocolate chunks
And no cinnamon ( one recipe had this as their "Secret Ingredient" - nope)
TIA

Morning,
Loving all the XSt chat and pics. My toolkit bookmark hasn’t progressed in the past 2 weeks. I did manage some sewing the weekend (put the ribbon edge around some leftover interlining from curtains, to make 2 dollie blankets for small girls - original intended recipients too old now but there are younger girls who would enjoy them). And finished my own scarf that I started last summer, put another on needles as a mindless evening project. Need to get back to doing more masks though and I want to use up some of my stash doing cushion covers, book pouches and tote bags - either as gifts (possibly even for their original intended recipient even if 5 years later!) or for the charity craft fair we’ll run when the office is properly open again (a few of us organising as a way for anyone who wants to craft but have no more people they can give their crafts to, to have an outlet to just keep crafting for mindfulness purposes).

Enjoying my coffee in the garden before getting on with my day, 1st conference call in 10 minutes so need to get computer started. Dd last day of exams too so we’re in the “change of routine” stress city today....it’ll al be fine, I’m sure... 🙏

Oh, and Happy Rudolph Day!!

NoWordForFluffy · 25/05/2020 09:19

Morning! It's gorgeous outside. I'm betting the beaches here will be rammed today after yesterday's debacle!

We are having a BBQ at the allotment later on. I can't wait!

Yes fluffy even I'm feeling like saying 'fuck it let's go out'. Not going to though. I want to see my parents too...but I know if any of us is going to have it then it's me so I won't risk it. Enjoy your bbq! I'm making chorizo and halloumi skewers for dinner, any tips on how to stop the halloumi splitting?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/05/2020 10:35

Wreck we got a takeaway a few weeks back and their grilled halloumi was much softer , more like mozerrela in texture .so that would've been better behaved on a skewer ( And it has less flavour than your usual Squeaky Halloumi )

It does split though ! . Sometimes you can cut into larger cubes and skewer it without it falling apart .
I've done pepper , mushroom and onion halloumi skewers before and they are delicious but I usually grill the halloumi in the frying pan (sliced) and do the skewers seperate .

Mrsmadevans · 25/05/2020 11:04

Morning everyone 😄
it's a beautiful day here the sun is shining and the skies are blue. I understand what you say Wreck when you say sod it let's go out because I feel like heading straight to Tenby today 😄
Been to Morrisons to stock up on DD 1 vegan grub. 🙄
Very civilized there I couldn't believe there were no queues we went about 9:30 and I think the Joe public didn't realise they were open before 10 being as it's a bank holiday. Going to Bob's now 🤪
Have a lovely day everyone 😀

NerosFiddle · 25/05/2020 11:05

Morning all.

Great drying weather today. I've got two loads done this morning. It's windy and quite cold So perfect.

I bought some clothes pegs on amazon and when they arrived they were the tiny decorative ones. So I think I'm going to make some Christmas decs from them. Just have to work out what to do. I'll probably end up just doing place settings.

Mrsmadevans · 25/05/2020 11:19

Bgr l forgot happy Rudolphus day everyone 😀
Nero have put one lot out got another in the WM , bed change day today for everyone 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 25/05/2020 11:40

I have dark washing and towels on the line! Definitely a good drying day!

I don't know about halloumi, Wreck. Sounds like it's just awkward! Your skewers sound lovely. 😋

ECG equipment returned to Hosp. 3rd load of washing in. Back lawn mowed, edges trimmed. Bathroom and ensuites cleaned. Path and some of patio cleaned. Bench, chairs and bird table washed/hosed down. Lunch eaten and washed up. Beer open Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 25/05/2020 12:57

You have a lawn to mow?! Mine is dust!

OP posts:
pussycatinboots · 25/05/2020 12:59

TBH most of it is growth from spilled bird seed Blush

WreckTangled · 25/05/2020 12:59

I dropped my lunch outside on the grass. No lunch for me. Had a little cry about it too. Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/05/2020 13:06

DH was mowing the lawn today so no washing done here ( actually I'm fairly up to date I think , but I'll turn my back and the baskets will be overflowing with DD clothes )

The guinea-pigs used to maintain the lawn, DH just had to skim round . They left huge rectangular scalped patches where their outdoor runs sat .....but they replenished the lawn with Piggie Pooh .

The cats don't GAF , they wander about in the grass, chew it to gain sympathy then chuck it up . Little boy cat left a heap of "Oh bloody hell, has he crapped on my bed?" Shock but it was vommed up grass in a lump.
Thanks there moggie .

Mrsmadevans · 25/05/2020 13:07

BiddyPop · 25/05/2020 13:52

Lidl had a very nice halloumi with chilli on Friday night - the whole pack is already gone here (and it hadn’t been part of a planned meal a just tried it on BBQ with steak and then finished it next night on BBq with chicken). The Greek Eridanlus (sp?) range, and on the fridge shelf normally doing the Greek/Spanish/Italian specials, so mightn’t be around for too long. There was a basil one also which I didn’t try yet.

Mrsmadevans · 25/05/2020 14:00

Wreck of course you couldn't rescue that, the very thought tsk tsk Halo
l would have eaten it l think knowing what a guts l am, the bit on top of the sun chair l am sure l would have devoured Grin
