Morning. Welcome to our new thread.

We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

Been up since half 3.
Watched loads of random stuff on S4C - fascinating programme about the Britannia Bridge fire and the start of 35 Diwrnod and Gwaith/Cartref Smile it's handy to have the english subtitles, as while DH is asleep I never have the sound on anyway. Halo
He's waking up, so that's the end of my quiet morning 😞 hello housework😩

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 23/05/2020 08:17

Coo looks amazing fluffy! I am in the back stitching for the beach huts :)

Winds supposed to be worse today so have brought in as many plants as possible and have moved the grozone against the wall of the house to provide it with protection. Keeping everything crossed!

I need to do housework too! Must get my arse off the sofa.

I've decided against the allotment today. Too windy! I don't want taking out by a random piece of debris. 😱

Most, I ❤️❤️ that. I've just bought two more patterns, one to do a birth sampler for a friend and another bloody Christmas one! Xmas Grin

Wreck I am 😡 on your behalf with your manager. Incompetent or lazy management is a bugbear if mine.

Thank you MrsMad, the bath definitely helped.
What is Bobs family doing? Why is all the care suddenly on your shoulders - if your mum was still in her house surely they would be doing a lot more?

Fluffy the coo looks amazing! Also love the new kits, especially the Christmas one 🎄

puss will you be able to have a nap later?

most that pic has made me realise I really want to do that cross stitch, it's looking so lovely and summery!

I've been sat downstairs with a cuppa for the last 30 mins. Contemplating doing the last coat of the bathroom paint today but I hate painting

WreckTangled · 23/05/2020 10:02

I've put some washing away and have got a carrot cake in the oven. Won't be doing much else today though

WreckTangled · 23/05/2020 11:27

It's raining here now but with blue sky. Cake has been devoured by all

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 23/05/2020 11:29

That looks very delicious wreck! Am about to make tomato soup for lunch :)

WreckTangled · 23/05/2020 12:54

Thunder and rain now

pussycatinboots · 23/05/2020 13:28

Wreck I guess there's only crumbs left? envious of your ⛈⚡☂

Crazy hope you're feeling better. I'm a clumsy so-and-so too. I walked into a door on Thurs and head-butted a cupboard door yesterday 😵😵

fluffy are those "Lizzy Kate"? Hmm or Bothy? Not tried a LK one (yet) Wink

most I love the beach huts.

WreckTangled · 23/05/2020 14:09

It's still thundering! Lots of rain too. Ooo lightning

NoWordForFluffy · 23/05/2020 14:10

I'm awfully clumsy with no idea how wide I am! 😂😂 I'm always bruised. DD is similar; such a dolly daydream that she trips over all the time!

I've made cupcakes with the kids. They just need icing. I'm cleaning the kitchen later, after I've made curry as there's no point before as it just gets trashed!

Boots, they're Historical Samplers' ones. I also bought the Bothy 'Crackers About Cheese' one. I have an addiction alright! 😂😂

Nice cake, Wreck. 😋

Afternoon everyone Smile
Fluffy beautiful Coo l think it's my favourite but then l always say that every new one you do Grin. Lovely new ones you have bought too Smile
Not bought any new shoes for Bob, l took some thin black shoe laces up for him to put in the Trainers and he is very happy with them for now Grin
Have put the towels on boil up Bob's and he will dry them out and fold them, l washed their clothes in my WM and hardly spun them and hung them on hangers to dry so they won't need ironing , YAY!
Don't blame you re not going to the Allotment have a day off today, you work so hard Flowers
Boot can you have a nap this afternoon? Have you seen Bang yet it's fab , I still haven't watched CRAITH , l must do that too. Hope your head is better Flowers
Most cross stitch coming on, well done, home madeTomato soup sounds delish! Enjoy Smile Wind is crazy here hope your wind prep does the job Smile
Crazy Hope you are feeling better today Flowers
None of his family do anything for Bob. It's a very odd setup . His one son is dead, his other 2 sons didn't go to their mother's funeral . His Dd2 his youngest lives 5 doors away from him and they don't have anything to do with him since after the Mum's funeral, some cock and bull story about her pincing money off him but l think it is Dd1 whose the problem. I think he has done and given the kids everything and now he needs help there isn't any forthcoming. If Mum wasn't there he would have had to go and live with his First Daughter but l really couldn't see that happening. His first daughter says she has COPD and has to self isolate but it didn't stop her coming down to search for things at Bob's and to go shopping in Hereford which really worried me because the only ppl that go there is my DD1 , myself and DH to keep them safe . Still l can't do anything about it . My sister actually said to my Mum that perhaps Bob would leave her his house. Hence yesterday there were 6 tomato plants waiting for us to take up there for him off my sister. She has previously been vile about him . I was truly gobsmacked. I am still reeling for so many reasons. All going mad in my mind. How could she say that ?
Wreck that cakey looks like the dogs wotsits , beautiful well done!
No thunder or lightening here though, l love it too Grin it's exhilarating in a safe place !

Morning you sleepy lot

Ds woke us up early moaning that he can't go on the iPad (I banned him yesterday, he's only allowed on at the weekends anyway so won't be back on until next Saturday).

HMRC have lowered my tax code for no reason. They're such incompetent twats makes me so mad. I phoned them in feb and said I want my whole allowance for my usually job and BR for the toy shop as it's not regular, they confirmed that in writing but now they've changed it all so I have to waste my time phoning them on Tuesday and it'll probably take me hours to get through Angry

I'm doing a roast chicken today but with salad probably as it's going to be nice. Sunshine forecast for the foreseeable which is good.

WreckTangled · 24/05/2020 08:21

Cross post fluffy it was a pretty good one! Lasted over an hour. Here's the hail ds picked up

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/05/2020 08:26

Eurgh HMRC are a nightmare wreck :(

I had a lovely sleep, allotmenting for us too today. At least the wind is a normal level again. My carefulness yesterday has paid off though and nothing else damaged :) Need to move everything back today.

The beach huts really are lovely, very cheerful. Need to start thinking about getting a new one though as almost finished!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/05/2020 08:28

Think I might go for this one or do you think I should crack on with a Christmas one?

Countdown to Christmas 2020 - Lockdown: Peaked! (Thread 5)
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/05/2020 08:28

If I can find it in stock anywhere!

NoWordForFluffy · 24/05/2020 08:47

Most, apparently Bothy closed their factory due to COVID, so it's hard to find their kits at the moment. I love that one too...I feel we should both do it (and Firefly!).

Have you got another you can be getting on with?

That's amazing hail, Wreck.

I'm worried about plant damage at the allotment. Hopefully everything is OK!

OP posts:
Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 24/05/2020 08:56

I have a couple that I need to finish off the back stitching on fluffy. DH thinks I should just crack on with a Christmas one though as I always end up rushing in December to finish it so if I start now I should be ok. I am very tempted by a traditional John Clayton one.

Fingers crossed everything on your allotment is ok!

NoWordForFluffy · 24/05/2020 09:08

Definitely check eBay for the JC ones, Most. The seller I buy from is kmlf021165 and there's at least one on sale now.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 24/05/2020 10:59

My hours are just split awkwardly at the moment Fluffy. I complained about this month's but they are so bad nobody wanted to swap any with me.

Mrsmadevans · 24/05/2020 14:33

Afternoon everyone Smile
Been to Mum's made them Pasta bake and a B&B pud. Dh stayed and did the cooked dinner for us all today, he's a good un bless his heart .
Wasn't going to go today but l had to drive the car because l haven't driven for 2 months! I can't believe that. The time goes so slowly yet the days roll into one.
Have an Aurora Teagarden mystery on l recorded the other day , it's fine for background Grin
I didn't see Andrew Marr this morning , l can't bear the total injustice of it all with DC tbh it enrages me Grin am better off being in the dark sts Hmm
Great news about the vaccine though please God Smile
Wreck that hail is massive!! Shock
Hi Why just keep going love it will get better l am sure it can't keep being as mad as this for much longer can it. Flowers
Tbh l feel like breaking the law and bgr the consequences by doing something like protesting about DC behaviour with a crowd of others and bgr social distancing Hmm
l need a cuppa strong tea and a cakey that will cheer me up Grin
I have started watching Afterlife on Netflix. I can't believe Ricky Gervais wrote it tbh. I just can't put the him in RL/interviews/appearaces with the person who can pen such deep emotion. It's excellent though , l think l will watch another episode now Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 24/05/2020 17:09

Thanks Mrs, I keep hoping things will settle down a bit but we are busier than ever, and about to go back into the community as well. I am already thinking of booking my next time off in July 😂
