Morning. Welcome to our new thread.

We maybe have rain today. I really hope we do! I have no ides when we last had it.

I'm baking with the kids today plus potting some plants on. Exciting. No idea where they'll go, mind you!

Only 2 days left of furlough. Yaaay for the financial side and booooo otherwise! 😂

Morning! This bank holiday being today is bloody baffling. As if it wasn't hard enough to get a grip on what day it is already! Grin

I'm tired. I went sleep before checking my Morrison's order out last night, so no delivery for me on Sunday. Fail! 😂😂

Allotment day today. It's forecast warm, but not sunny as such, so it should be bearable.

My runner beans are taking over the greenhouse now they're potted on! I might have to put them out one evening next week, as soon as the cold spell is done with!

How nice that your DH is off work, Wreck!

Mrs, you were busy yesterday! I hope you can relax a bit today.

Morning 🌞

And Happy Bank Holiday Monday Grin

Enjoy your bbq, Wreck. I keep trying to order disposables with my online shopping, but no luck so far. DSis has our proper bbq from last summer, it's too big for just the 3 of us, though!

Sucks about your shopping, Fluffy. I always make a point of checking mine out before I put my phone down, after we once had a delivery of 3 boxes of cat food and a loaf of bread. DH was Confused. Luckily it was before lockdown so I could go shopping for actual food.

DH got up with DS this morning, so I've done some (online) Christmas shopping. I may have also bought the Playmobil Santa's Workshop for me Blush Oh well, I had some birthday money to spend and it will go with my Lego gingerbread house!!

DS has suddenly started asking for us to have a baby. We're not sure why, we haven't told him and don't really speak about it much even to each other. We're planning to wait until the 20 week scan next month, and then let him know.

WreckTangled · 08/05/2020 10:50

I got two disposable bbq's from the Tesco fuel station

CrazyBaubles · 08/05/2020 12:53

I felt awful yesterday, very sick and tired, no appetite whatsoever. I spent the day mostly in bed.

most that cross stitch is so sunny and cheerful and you're steaming on with it. Where will you hang it?

fluffy your pic made me want to start mine highland coo too but I'm pressing on with crochet for now (working on a doll for my nieces birthday in July).

Wreck the pic from your dc school looks idyllic.

I cannot being myself to leave washing out when it goes dark puss - there are woods at the back of our house and I can't cope with the thought of the spiders etc I would bring in (I regularly find the buggers spinning webs between the fence and my towels).

I have just googled what the playmobil Santa Workshop is Firefly and I like your style Xmas Grin

Just watching the welsh government update. 3 more weeks of lockdown here with very small adjustments (can exercise more than once, councils to look into opening recycling centres etc and garden centres to open). Will he interesting to see how my work handles this.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 08/05/2020 13:06

Hope you feel better today crazy! I am pleased about the exercise more than once a day rule as means I can exercise with DH and DS and then go to my allotment as well :)

DH got the shock news today that his Uncle was found dead at home (had been dead a couple of days). There weren't close but he is very upset for his grandparents who have lost their youngest child Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2020 15:34

Oh no, Most. How awful. Was your DH close to him?

Crazy, I hope you feel better soon. It doesn't sound like the Welsh government has said to go back to the office, so things will stay as they are? Are you furloughed or working?

Enjoy the BBQ, Wreck.

It's nice here. Nicer than forecast. I did about 4.5 hours at the allotment so I'm tired. I've been weeding and building a retaining 'wall' alongside the path on plot 1 that was apparently being held into place along the boundary of plot 2 by the weeds! 🙈😂 Then it was lots of path weeding to add more slate to the existing path so it's better a quality path. One of my photos is sideways again. Sigh! Sunday's jobs are to finish the path and then dig / weed round the pond and put slate round there too. The things we do when we can't plant out yet!

They weren't close no fluffy and DH isn't grieving for himself but he is upset for his dad and grandparents. Hopefully the autopsy will give them some answers as at the moment they have no idea what happened.

Just rang my grandparents and my grandfather has been admitted to hospital. Not a great day here all round!

WreckTangled · 08/05/2020 16:02

Oh no most you're having a rubbish day! I hope he's ok

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2020 16:04

FireflyGirl · 08/05/2020 16:16

Flowers most, here's hoping your grandad is better soon.

Hope you're doing better soon, Crazy. You're having a rough couple of weeks, bless you.

CrazyBaubles · 08/05/2020 16:19

I'm so sorry most, your poor inlaws.
Do you know why your grandfather was admitted? Is he in RG?

Fluffy I am neither furloughed or working properly. I don't have a lap top with access to the systems so I haven volunteered to be 'on call' for any queries, technical advice, proof-reading and trouble shooting via zoom & whatsapp.

Thank you Firefly. My neighbours are being very odd and have organised a street party which DH is trying to drag me to but I'm resisting because I feel worn out. He's just complained that I'm so negative about them but we've lived here for almost 10 years and some of them had never spoken to us prior to lockdown!

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2020 16:19

Enjoy the BBQ Wreck those disposable BBQ are really good , it looks beautifu there with you Smile.
Fluffy the allotment is looking superb great work well done m'dear! Thank you, have had a better day today but l have 2 black bin bags of washing of Bob's to do and Mum was really horrible to me because l dared to say to Mum l didn't mind doing it for him but where was HIS family they are nowhere to be seen just like her family Hmm

Fire Playmobil Santa's Workshop looks fantastic! I love it !

FireflyGirl · 08/05/2020 16:20

VE Day afternoon tea Grin

I looked at the Morrison's boxes, MrsM, but couldn't get a slot. Made my own instead, and we quite enjoyed it, but DH and I didn't get a look in at the fruit salad. I had to take it away before DS made himself ill with it!

pussycatinboots · 08/05/2020 17:54

Afternoon.
It must be the heat as both sets of NDNs have been arguing really loudly Shock someone has broken an oven, someone else has broken a chair...
Most Flowers

Firefly nice tea. Like Wreck I wondered what was in the traysGrinBlush
Mrs at least you've got a good drying day.
fluffy how's the pond settling in? any 🐸 yet?

Mrsmadevans · 08/05/2020 18:59

Wreck l thought the same, some sort of food soil l thought , l was most impressed Most Grin
Boot have not spoken to Dh since we got home from Bob's he has truly pissed me off, nothing in particular except he wouldn't let me get my anger about the unfairness of 2 bags of washing from Bob Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/05/2020 22:22

Who normally does Bob's washing, Mrs? Why aren't they still doing it? Does he have a machine?

Boots, no 🐸 yet, sadly. No signs of life at all, in fact. Sad

I knew what Firefly's trays were! I have many myself. 😂

Lovely afternoon tea and bunting. We've not done anything special today.

Most, I hope your grandfather is home soon. Flowers

pussycatinboots · 09/05/2020 06:54

fluffy ah, maybe everything scuttles off when you arrive? Give it time, and at least the birds have somewhere naice to drink/have a bath.
Mrs you should have bunged it on a quick wash in his machine, pegged it out and left them to it. It could be left to be darked on 🕷 overnight 'til you go the next day.
There was even more shouting from one side last night...it sound's expensive to say the least 🪑🛒£££s Shock
DH is complaining that upstairs is like a sauna...nothing to do with the 2, yes 2 duvets he's been nesting under 🤷🏻‍♀️

WreckTangled · 09/05/2020 07:10

Woke up to an email saying out electricity direct debit is being put down 🙌🏼

DH is working today so will just sit in the garden and referee the dc. It's going to be even warmer than yesterday. W

WreckTangled · 09/05/2020 07:21

I've also got my Asda delivery. Apparently they have no gender stem broccoli and nothing to sub it for Hmm am not very happy with the subs either both my finger rolls and burger buns have been subbed for white rolls so now I'll have 12 of them and dh's beer has been subbed for a smaller qty but the same price. Flatbreads subbed for wraps and yoghurt and mint dressing for garlic mayo. I'm really considering stopping the deliveries and just going to the supermarket again.

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 09/05/2020 07:24

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. An calling my grandmother later so hopefully will have an update then.

That is a lot of subs wreck :(

Going to be hot today so another day in the garden and BBQ food (cooked in oven but will eat outside and traditional BBQ stuff). Will head to the allotment this morning while still fairly cool, need to earth up my first early potatoes ready for the cold nights at the start of next week. Will also weed and water while there. Next week will dig the bed for my sweetcorn which I am currently hardening off. Won't put out until the short cold snap has passed though :)
