Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

Oops Wreck, that's the kind of thing I'd do Blush

Have been food shopping, then work in an hour, and hoping Liverpoll beat Tottenham today Grin

The link is who I dontated too Mrs x

PJMasksGhekko · 11/01/2020 14:39

Liverpool even!!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2020 14:48

Afternoon! I've definitely worked off my breakfast with 5 and a bit hours on the allotment! I'll post photos when I'm home and not walking.

Neros, yes, you can just walk in and get the breakfast deal.

I'll have a nice long bath and a glass of wine when I get home. Cold, achey, filthy and tired!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2020 15:20

Here's my photos! 6 (and a half; I forgot to take a photo of the half) lids of roots removed from the ground; a patio built (I walked 11 of the slabs from the front of the plot, where the bags are leaning on the post); the parking area is completed (I'm sowing grass seed on it in March to bind the soil together); and the area where the kids' raised bed is going has had the roots removed.

I put two more bird feeders up on the shed as well.

And that is why I'm tired!

Em, bargain boots. Smile

Wreck, did you get your required peace and quiet?!

Mrs, are you taking anything for the cough? And I'm glad I may have helped re the window. If it's gone back in the sale I'd hope that's the end of it.

Butternut squash and sweet potato soup later on. DH made it in my absence. ❤️❤️

Wow Fluffy you've done loads!!

EmrysAtticus · 11/01/2020 15:54

Well done fluffy, you definitely deserve a long bath after all that.

We plan to hit our allotment tomorrow afternoon. Bit daunted by it all but hoping that once we have cleared it it will seem much easier

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2020 16:20

How big is your plot, Em?

I hope your digger has also removed any weed roots for you. That'll save you a job!

I've no doubt you'll be fine; you just need to get into the swing of it. Smile

EmrysAtticus · 11/01/2020 16:23

Not massive fluffy just 4x15m

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2020 16:30

That's nice and manageable. We have half plots which are probably similar. I've never measured though!

We're going to sort our mini pond in the next week or so. Can't wait. Hopefully we'll get frog spawn as the there's loads of frogs around.

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 16:33

Well done Fluffy 👌😊👍 excellent job the stained glass window went for £280 today. So if they've sold it I presume we will never hear about it again 🙄🤔

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 16:37

Your plot sounds lovely EM not too big just right I'm sure you will soon get it under control 😄
PJ have a good time at work m'dear you are not missing much tbh the weather is terrible here if it's anything like that with you then you are better off in work imho At least it's dry 🤞😀

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 16:42

Don't feel too bad about the window they only lost £20
Have donated to the Australian wild life thank you for the heads up . They have the most gorgeous pictures of rescued koalas on it too bless them 🤗 l copied you and have $20 /£11 it's just horrendous what has happened over there 😭

NoWordForFluffy · 11/01/2020 16:46

£20 is nothing really!

I have loads of friends in Oz. My friend lives in an apartment block (Canberra) and their smoke alarms keep going off at all hours because of the fires. It's so scary.

WreckTangled · 11/01/2020 17:05

Eventually, fluffy, DH was home from work early so I sorted the washing and then went upstairs and read a book in my room, with dd reading hers next to me. DH has cleaned the bathroom and is watching a film with ds. Dd still reading and I'm starting dinner Smile

EmrysAtticus · 11/01/2020 17:12

Yes definitely nice and manageable. Planning to split in quarters and have three rotating sections and one permanent wildlife section with lots of wildflowers and log piles etc :) Would love it if we got slow worms, I think they are so beautiful and so handy with slugs! Was considering a hedgehog house too.

PJMasksGhekko · 11/01/2020 18:43

Would love to donate more but it's a long month. Getting paid just before Christmas is good until after Christmas and you realise how long until the next pay day Grin

NerosFiddle · 11/01/2020 19:56

Mrs how did the viewing go?

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 20:21

PJ the viewing went well we liked the house it was much better than we thought tbh but the location isn't ideal it is rough there and the vendor wouldn't move on the price, so we have put it on the back burner for now. The Tesco next door doesn't worry us at all funnily enough Grin, we went in and asked the manager and he said there have never been any trouble with the house or the car park .

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 20:34

Excellent idea Em , we have 2 hedgies who come every year in the garden we feed them religiously and if we can weigh them before they go into hibernation we do , they have to be over 600 gs. Thankfully ours have always been over that Smile
PJ every penny counts and a lot of ppl will be giving from all over the world to help save the animals Smile
Wreck, that sounds like a fab Saturday m'dear & it's brilliant both your two enjoy reading Smile oh yes l nearly forgot , Seacow has been asking after you on a thread l am on. She is missing you m'dear Smile

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 20:43

Fluffy, l was so relieved. l can't tell you. We felt guilty about not proceeding with the sale but l know something must have gone wrong with the bidding because Dh doesn't bid live & we were up my Mum's at the time of the sale.
I bet you can't wait to do the pond , the Dc will love it Smile
I am sorry Nero it was you who asked re the house viewing , it went well really at least l think we have ruled it out now and it's been on our minds for 6 months. I suppose that should tell us enough that it has been on for 6 months Grin & it has a working alarm on an empty house so that should give us a clue lol Grin

Fanny, we will get a full survey on anything we by unless it is a new build of course , don't worry m'dear and thank you for thinking of us. I don't think we will be buying it . The yays are much outweighed by the nays Grin
Thank you m'dear you are a darling [flower]
Just watched Grantchester , l didn't think l was going to like it without James Norton in it but l was pleasantly surprised Smile

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 21:31

Flower fail lol Flowers for Fanny Smile

FireflyGirl · 11/01/2020 21:33

It's nicer inside than some of the others you looked at last year, MrsM, but the outside would put me off - as would the price! I know it's not comparable in terms of location, but I paid that for a 3-bed detached with 3 double bedrooms and a decent size garden in a very naice commuter village!! Shock It's no wonder younger generations can't get on the property ladder!!

Now is a really slow time, though, in terms of the property market. As well as just having Christmas, I think a lot of people are waiting to see what happens with Brexit.

That was a good effort today, Fluffy. I'm in pain from my massage (which she assured me was to be expected), so haven't been able to get as much done as I wanted. Have been reading up on seed saving instead! DH has had to go out to support our friend, so I've had a hot bath and drank half of the bottle of fizz by myself Blush

Sounds like a good day, Wreck. Did you get to use your new oven glove Wink

NerosFiddle · 11/01/2020 21:58

Mrs I'm glad you have decided not to go for it. You can see the damp in the loft and it looks like it could be coming from the chimney brest.
When I used to work in the housing game, January was always the busiest month. We called the the make up and break up period. Over Christmas there was always big changes in some people's circumstances.
