Afternoon.

Here we go again! It feels slightly bonkers setting off again before today is over, but it's tradition, so who am I to argue?!

Just having a quick cuppa.

Our school has massively improved since the new head took over, he's a lovely bloke too.

Wreck you've just reminded me, I need to get DD1 sized up for bras, she's developing bless her.

Have a good afternoon everyone x

WreckTangled · 10/01/2020 14:03

Dd is easily a b cup but nowhere goes down small enough in back sizes for her so she's just wearing bra shaped crop tops for now. It's going to be a nightmare, I need a 28 back but they're so tricky to find goodness know how they expect young girls to find decent fitting bras.

Flouncy I didn't look in b&m for gardening stuff. They hardly had any Christmas sale stuff left though and had Easter bits out so I'm sure it won't be long.

I got some in matalan for £1.50! They haven't got any padding or anything so I figure I don't need to worry too much about the sizing of them? It's more just about her being comfortable and keeping her dignity in pe etc.

Sorry for being MIA again. I've read through since my last post so this one is long, sorry!

Wreck I think I'm doing a version of mindful eating already - more trying to take time to think am I hungry / is what I'm about to eat proportional to how hungry I am etc. It's helping.

Fluffy we drove through the Cairngorms over Christmas. It was lovely then, I can only imagine how beautiful it'll be in the summer.

PJ Your dog looks so sweet and it's Great that you don't have to work Christmas Day this year.

Sorry for you loss Biddy

Firefly I've tried calorie counting but I just couldn't stick to it. I'm not sure why but I got so stressed at having to track the figures etc that it made me want to rebel and eat everything 🙄
I'm using SW because my friends go so they motivate me, mindful eating and I use a set of plates which don't allow for big portions (have taken a plate and bowl to work).

MrsMad I watched silent witness yesterday. Harrowing wasn't it?
Not keen on Nikki's new look though!

What garden centre did you get the Christmas trees from please? DH has agreed to a real one as long as it's in a pot and yours were a bargain.

Also, where was I when the stained glass saga was happening? I don't remember any mention of it! So glad it worked out well for you.

Yay on the allotment Emrys 🥳
Is the school M Church? If so I know a few parents in your situation (and a few people with dc in the school) and it's true a lot of staff don't like the head

If it helps, the school DH teaches in was put into special measures literally about 10 days after he started. They've replaced the head and worked really hard and were out of it within a year - their last inspection was very very good so it can be turned around.

70 images of a lady in a giant inflatable prawn costume just came to mind and made me giggle. Your dd has a way with words 😂

So I took a screen break because the migraine wouldn't go away, it seemed to get better for a bit then come back full force again. 🤞🏼 it's now buggered off properly!

I am back on the diet (spending my Friday night meal planning) and am going to batch cook tomorrow after I've been food shopping.
Have also decided I need to start early on a Christmas treat plan for DH because he always manages to get me something unexpected and amazing and his presents from me are always really boring. Just need to think of something that will knock his socks off now Xmas Hmm

PJMasksGhekko · 10/01/2020 21:59

Silent witness has started? I used to watch it religiously but haven't for the past couple of years.

The nearest Matalan is 8 miles away, so might look at ordering online for her.

Crazy She is lovely, but as soon as she sees a human when we are walking she wants to stop, because she thinks everyone wants to be licked by her, she is very jumpy and I do hold her back, obviously there are some people who are happy to have her hug them and lick them, but I am very mindful that not everyone likes it, I do explain I'm holding her back because she will jump up, which people do appreciate.

Don't know if I've got Christmas day off yet, but I can't see them saying no.

PJMasksGhekko · 10/01/2020 22:01

Glad your migraine has gone Crazy x

PJMasksGhekko · 10/01/2020 22:01

MrsMad hope you are ok x

PJMasksGhekko · 10/01/2020 22:05

I also donated towards the fires in Australia, got advised not to donate to the fire services as the government would then cut their funding, so if $50 mil was raised, they would then take that out of the budget, so I went for one that helps the wildlife, $20 is £11 in English money. Not much but every little helps as they say.

EmrysAtticus · 11/01/2020 05:49

It is M Church Crazy. I work in a school which has been in special measures for 3 years. You can probably work out which one that is too Grin I think relationships are the hardest things to fix. Standards can be dealt with swiftly but a negative culture infects everything.

WreckTangled · 11/01/2020 06:56

Pj Our nearest matalan I went to yesterday was 22 miles away Grin

Crazy pleased you're feeling better

I think I'm going to take the dc to spend their vouchers today. They're desperate to spend them and I can't stand a day indoors with them. DH is working.

Morning!

We're taking the kids for breakfast at the Premier Inn when we're up. They love a PI breakfast!

Then it's allotmenting for me. DH cleared the piles of roots yesterday (disturbing two bank voles who'd been eating the blown Brussels I'd thrown into the rubbish bag!) so I have an empty bulk bag to fill! I'm prevaricating over exactly what I'm going to do while I'm there. Digging followed by patio-laying, I think.

It's been really windy overnight. Our washing will either be dry or gone! Grin

Sorry your migraine was so persistent, Crazy. I'm glad it's gone now.

WreckTangled · 11/01/2020 07:17

Fluffy I'm so jealous! Love a premier inn breakfast Grin

FireflyGirl · 11/01/2020 07:55

DS would just eat his own bodyweight in baked beans, so not sure how I feel about PI breakfast Grin

My plan for the day is massage at 9.30 (my neck's hurting, but I don't know if it's just referred pain from my tooth abscess, so figured I've nothing to lose by having a massage!), then taking down the Christmas decorations (didn't get chance last week due to rehearsals and a family emergency) and planting some lettuce seeds to go in the greenhouse in a couple of weeks. And then, provided we're not needed for the family situation, DH and I will be having belated New Year's celebrations Grin

NerosFiddle · 11/01/2020 09:34

Morning.

Can anyone go to a PI for breakfast or do you have to stay there? Dd loves it and she eats for free.

Dh was working on Christmas Day, this year he'll do Boxing Day and the year after New Years. Everyone has to take their turn doing one of the days but he said they were so quiet on Christmas Day they barely needed to be there.

Off to see a friend in hospital soon, then to the butchers to buy our meat pack for the week.

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 10:13

Morning everyone 😀
Off to see a house with DD 2 in Cardiff. Will put the link on if l can 😄
Crazy it was in Llanfoist , Abergavenny Garden centre. I don't think there will be any left ☹️ but they were selling them for a tenner in Baileys garage . We bought some bird seed from them yesterday and saw them . Their bird seed is cheap. Gardmans wild bird seed 20kgs for 9.99 , cheapest we can find Gardmans. EmrysAtticus · 11/01/2020 11:40

DS' shoes split in town this morning, luckily Clark's had a sale and we got a lovely pair of boots for £16.20!!!

WreckTangled · 11/01/2020 11:59

We're back! I got some new oven gloves because I left mine on the hob the other day 🤦🏽‍♀️

Ds and dd spent over £60 on books together! And ds got a new nerf gun. Hopefully they'll leave me in peace so I can get on with the washing and housework.
