Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

@22Giraffes what channel is the wrap battle on please?. Can you recommend any wrappers on YouTube? I need to up my game this year. Got my rapesco sellotape dispenser, ribbon, wrap, scissors, ruler., Metallic pens...now all I need is some actual wrapping skill

TwistedAnkle · 09/12/2019 22:43

Nicky2512 primark and tiger do little fondue sets for 2. Very cute and about £4. Supposed to be for chocolate but I'd imagine could be used for cheese. Amazon also do them for slightly more

Frogshoe · 09/12/2019 22:47

Hi all, I’ve been a bit of a lurker as I have no bargains of my own to offer so far. I’m looking for a scooter for a tall 11 year old? I think I seen one on an earlier thread but I can’t find it now 😭

margaritasbythesea · 09/12/2019 22:57

I wrapped today. It took me all the time the kids were in school! My god, I love my new Rapesco tape dispenser. If you've not wrapped and you haven't got one bet one now!

imsorryiasked · 09/12/2019 23:13

Assuming this is a good price - Amazon gave the Phillips ipl lumea prestige half price at £250 on lightening deals

@gaggiagirl It's an American show, on a channel called FreeForm I think Confused I'm not sure how to get it over here, dp found it for me!

PinkPanther27 · 09/12/2019 23:33

@MissMarple0203 you mentioned a trail camera and I'd nor heard of these before but I'm now very excited as I think this could be the perfect gift for my parents.
Do you have any advice on an extremely simple one to get (they're complete tech phobes) that comes in under £30/40?

PinkPanther27 · 09/12/2019 23:33

*not heard of Grin

FabulousCandelabra · 09/12/2019 23:40

imsorryiasked, it is a good price but if you want to get it even cheaper - Boots price match at the moment and give £10 worth of points for ever £60 you spend on electrical tools which would technically bring it down to £210.

Argh - I need your wisdom. I've lost my card (definitely lost at home - put somewhere safe and I can't find it where I thought it was, no action on my account) because I've been doing all my bargains online using paypal. so haven't needed actual card.

Just realised it's not in my handbag where it usually lives, and remember thinking I'd put it safe as I needed to put it back in my bag - don't think it ever made it. Eeeek.

I'm going away this weekend - how long do you reckon it takes for a new card to come through (from Lloyds) and is there any way to speed it up? I haven't cancelled it as I've been merrily using paypal and not had to think about it - and I try to use cash (that dh gets out) when shopping so I can be more aware of what I spend out and about in person. Not usually an issue as my card is usually in my bag if I do have unexpected purchases but have been really good recently and done all bargain shopping through here rather than in real life.

Suddenly hit me today - not going to be able to pay for stuff on paypal out and about - and I don't even have apple pay set up as I've never needed it.

Help! Am I going to have to stop all shopping while I wait for a replacement? Will it get to me by Friday? Or am I well and truly stuffed?

Thanks for help and sorry for the timeout on the thread!

PurpleSock · 10/12/2019 00:02

I bought the lumea prestige on black friday for 20 quid more than that! Any tips to get amazon to refund me the difference on live chat?

thaegumathteth · 10/12/2019 00:08

Thanks for all the advice on brands / wallets. I'll stick with Nike or Adidas I think. He already has a lot of hype stuff. Not that he's interested he'd wear any old crap.

Horehound · 10/12/2019 00:12

Just popping on to say I have bought some ancestry DNA kits for my husband and my parents. I went for 23andme as the overall results look good and you can upgrade to get health results too (but some people won't like to know so I just got basic ancestry and trait package).
I bought my dad a book stamp which says "this book belongs to dad's name" and you provide some interests and hobbies and the supplier makes a bespoke one for your recipient with the things they like on it.
Quite please with that one. I got it on NOTHS for 85 quid but they are doing 15% off orders over 50.

NoSquirrels · 10/12/2019 01:48

wibdib usually 3 working days fur a bank card so it’s cutting it fine!

What’s your back-up plan? DH to take out a wodge of cash? Credit card you don’t usually use?

Have you checked absolutely everywhere? Asked St Anthony for assistance etc?

My top tips are pockets (coats, jeans, cardigans, dressing gown!, tracksuit bottoms, hoodie) or frequently-passed-by surfaces (desk, kitchen side, hall, bathroom, dressing table) where it’s not immediately obvious. Good luck!

christmassymcchristmas · 10/12/2019 06:05

Wibdib do you have a monzo or starling card? Transfer some onto there?

MissMarple0203 · 10/12/2019 06:29

@pinkpanther27 I bought the victure 1080p from amazon. I'm not techy at all... I just read reviews and looked at the quality of the pictures the reviews showed. If I'm honest they all did seem much of a muchness... The one I chose had a deal it was £49.99 and it was £34 when I got it. Something to consider though...you need to buy an SD card with most of them and batteries. After mine was delivered I did see one on Hot UK deals for £30 that had been reduced from Amazon...that one also seemed to have good reviews. Hope that helps

Hey

Themazeoflife · 10/12/2019 08:17

I bought two sets of the TWSi12 headphones from an eBay seller, the item is now unavailable and seller no longer exists Sad

Themazeoflife · 10/12/2019 08:19

They are just showing as unavailable (item removed)
