Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

Regarding 3D printers.

Both DH and BiL have the Ender 3 too. They've printed the same dragon, and a different dice tower, amongst tons of other things.
They take reels of filament that range from £12 to £45 for a 1 kilo reel. The shiny, rainbow ones are silk filaments, at around £20 a kilo. Easily available on Amazon.

The main issue with the Ender 3, is that it come unassembled (one of the reasons it is cheaper). It is too complicated to assemble just using the (minimal) printed instructions, so both DH and BiL spent hours watching set up videos on YouTube (Tomb of 3D printed horrors) and stopping them stepwise, to get every bit right.
Very cool, quite fiddly, and you need to be quite handy to set it up.
That said, I'm now sorted for Christmas presents and birthday presents for DH and BiL FOREVER, as I can always get them filament, or new nozzles, or upgrade kit!

Handsnotwands · 09/12/2019 19:44

Thanks so much for the printer info. I’m going to have to get DS one, he’d be thrilled. Now does anyone need a kidney?

sleepismysuperpower1 · 09/12/2019 19:46

@coffeetofunction if you post who you need to buy for, maybe someone will be along with a few ideas or links?

MissMarple0203 · 09/12/2019 19:54

Really need some help getting a few presents for DH. I'm completely at a loss...it's his bday in November so he gets socks etc all the usual bits for his bday. He doesn't need CDs/dvds etc I just have no idea what to get him...please can someone share ideas or make some suggestions...I'd be so grateful!!

Winterwarmer21 · 09/12/2019 20:00

@missmarple0203

I’m the same, really struggling but a few ideas...

-belt
-grooming kit/beard kit
-spicery box
-fire stick
-wireless headphones
-echo dot

Winterwarmer21 · 09/12/2019 20:00

PinkJam · 09/12/2019 20:16

Can anyone recommend a website to buy vouchers from please? Costa/Starbucks type ones please. I have googled it but not sure if genuine sites or not. Thanks

MissMarple0203 · 09/12/2019 20:21

@winterwarmer

Thanks for your reply and suggestions!

We have google home hub/speaker in most rooms
He doesn't have a beard
Already has headphones (Beats from last year)
Don't think he would appreciate the spicery gift
Doesn't need a belt

So far I've got him

A shirt for work
Slippers
A book (the science one that was mentioned on here)
And a trail camera (I thought he would enjoy this with our DD as they put bird feed out weekly)

But that's it 🙈

I really need to get him a few more bits as the few things I have got him... aren't amazing.

PinkJam · 09/12/2019 20:33

@MissMarple0203 Can I ask which science book that was recommended please?

imsorryiasked · 09/12/2019 20:39

I need to get DB & Sil something for around £20/25. They are not short of money so buy anything they need/want. They're going skiing abroad at xmas so I wondered if anyone had a suggestion for something that I could get them to take away?

MissMarple0203 · 09/12/2019 20:43

@pinkjam

It was called from science fiction to science fact (it actually looks quite good tbf) it's sold on Amazon...but I found it cheaper on a website called Books etc

Redwinestillfine · 09/12/2019 20:45

@imsorryiasked what about a pre-paid card for coffee places at the airport? It'd make the journey nicer if they don't shave to worry about pennies for coffee etc which is always extortionate

Jfw82 · 09/12/2019 20:52

@MissMarple0203 what about a weather station of some sort? Either storm glass type or digital (have had both in and out of basket this year for my DH but then he started muttering about a golf trolley so bought that instead)

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 09/12/2019 20:55

I noticed people mentioning Champion clothes, TKMaxx have some kids Champion hoodies for £14.99!

Unihorn · 09/12/2019 21:00

MissMarple0203 I have a November husband too so a similar problem. He's getting a sturdy umbrella and waterproof trousers for weekend football coaching,a new coffee travel mug with new Nespresso pods and a random autobiography I haven't decided on yet.

CheekyFucker · 09/12/2019 21:19

@Christmastreejoy OMG!

Where did you buy that beauty?

loveliesbleeding1 · 09/12/2019 21:24

Anyone who has fallen in love with christmastreejoys beautiful tree, there’s one in ASDA with 40% off at the moment online.

PinkDaydreams · 09/12/2019 21:32

@Christmastreejoy I have the exact same tree as you but haven’t put the decs up this year yet. Actually I’m sure it was you I messaged last year asking about your tree!!

CheekyFucker · 09/12/2019 21:37

@loveliesbleeding1 thank you 😊

loveliesbleeding1 · 09/12/2019 21:40

cheekyfucker more than welcome x

Yeknom · 09/12/2019 21:44

Im also struggling with DH - so far he has the grand total of a dressing gown 🙈. I've got a week to think - but last resort - spicery gift sets, are they really worth it/any good??

I started wrapping tonight and realised I still have soooooo much more to buy BUT I HAVE A LIST hurrah and might head real life shopping in person at the weekend

nicky2512 · 09/12/2019 21:56

This is a bit of an odd one! Dd is a bit obsessed with cheese fondue. I was looking for a fondue set just for her but loads have bad reviews and I would prefer something recommended if possible. Probably will be a bit of a novelty thing so want to spend as little as possible. Thanks

Christmastreejoy · 09/12/2019 21:58

The tree is from treetopia who sadly aren’t trading in the uk anymore. There are various places selling similar now though! Argos and paperchase being the main 2 I know of.
