Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

Finally bought my last gift today!
Thank you so much to everyone on the thread. I’ve got some great bargains, some of which I didn’t technically need Blush and hope I’ve helped a few others out along the way.
I’d like to say I’ll be checking out now but I do not have the strength of character to resist the future bargain potential!

Ginxed · 08/12/2019 22:55

Argos have got 3 TP Link Smart plugs (they work with Amazon Alexa) for £30. They are normally £25 each so this is a massive bargain!

thaegumathteth · 08/12/2019 23:07

@Ginxed sorry I'm a technophobe - ds and dd have echo dots - would those smart plugs work and could they have 3 smart plus each if so but not be able to control them from the other ones echo dot if that makes sense?

elsielegallez · 08/12/2019 23:10

Thanks Ginxed I’ve bought some!

Christmastreejoy · 08/12/2019 23:18

@masterchef98 3D printer is a great idea! We are having so much fun with ours.

Thread 18 - Oh god, stop me now please
Ginxed · 08/12/2019 23:26

@thaegumathteth you can control the plugs from any of your Echos, or the app on your phone. So we have a smart plug with our Christmas lights on it, and the kids ask Alexa to switch Christmas on from any of the Echos. I have a heated airer on a smart plug and I ask Alexa to switch that on or off. I don’t think there’s a limit on how many you can have, only with your own internet provider as I think each one needs an ip address.

thaegumathteth · 08/12/2019 23:28

Thanks @Ginxed so for example could dd turn off ds' PlayStation??Shock

Ginxed · 08/12/2019 23:43

@thaegumathteth yes but I bet there’s a way you could stop them, I’ve just never tried!

thaegumathteth · 08/12/2019 23:44

@Ginxed you obviously have better behaved offspring than me! I will investigate...! Thank you!

Penguinbeaver · 09/12/2019 04:42

Finally have a bargain to contribute John Adams Rainbow Science kit is down to lowest price according to CCC £8:99 on Amazon

Gardenworm · 09/12/2019 06:32

SH7L gets free delivery at Debenhams today

Serenity25 · 09/12/2019 07:29

Amazon have the instant pot at £59.99, lowest ever price according to camelcamelcamel.
Might be a good gift, it’s always raved about on Mumsnet.

FallenSky · 09/12/2019 07:38

@thaegumathteth I wouldn't recommend plugging a playstation in to a smart plug. All it will do is turn the power to the console on and off but you'll still have to manually turn it on via the power button/controller if that makes sense? Smart plugs are much better for things like lamps/heaters or anything that has a permanent "on" switch. For instance, my lamp has an on switch on the lead, it needs to be constantly switched on while connected to the smart plug and then when I turn the plug on and off the light does the same. Hope that makes sense.

thaegumathteth · 09/12/2019 07:40

Thanks @FallenSky

FallenSky · 09/12/2019 07:41

Does anyone know of any Smyths online discounts? Something DD wants is on there but I really don't want to break my rule of not paying full price for anything!

I'm also after Shenmue III on PS4 and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order on Xbox One if anyone happens to see them at a good price.

buckeejit · 09/12/2019 07:42

Eek just remembered I need a sort of family gift for the family who has everything. Any board games to recommend that are a bit bargainous?

Themazeoflife · 09/12/2019 08:08

This year I have a smart plug and Alexa, for controlling the Christmas lights, I'm hoping it will be much easier, than having to crawl under the tree, to turn lights on and off.

Givealittlebit · 09/12/2019 08:15

Good morning! Sorry for repeating my question but I think it got a bit lost in all the hampergeddon chat 😂

Those of you who got the i12 TWS headphones are there any recommended sellers? There's so many on eBay/amazon I'm not really sure where to start, as and much as budgets ridiculously tight I'd rather spend £5 extra or so on a reliable seller!
Thanks 😊

myfavouriterain · 09/12/2019 08:55

Thank you penguin got a science kid for my DD age 6

myfavouriterain · 09/12/2019 08:56

rheasmummy · 09/12/2019 09:46

Lol OMG Royal Bee is back in stock on 14th Dec on Amazon. You can add it to your basket. The mountains we had to climb to get this! Hopefully it’ll be easier for anyone who needs one now!

Just wanted to post a photo of the Christmas Tree Spode design I’ve purchased from Portmerion online. It was £60 down to £20 and I got a further 20% off some items. It’s just so cute and I can’t wait to receive it this week for my mince pies!

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 09/12/2019 09:51

^ just in case anyone missed it in the hamper chat (which I’m fascinated by!)

recklessgran · 09/12/2019 10:13

Morning all, I have been MIA on an ill-timed holiday in the sun. Now I've got 2 threads to catch up on and know I've missed LOADS of bargains.
Back on the wagon and determined to finally finish by the end of this week. [Bar The Twitch.]
