Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

Thank you for the jigsaw tips. It's given me a starting point of where to try in town this week

Redwinestillfine · 08/12/2019 17:20

No there's no invoice etc to show they're free or a subscription (they may contain a card with your code in advertising Freddie's flowers and saying something like give this card to your friends for a free box...)

Redwinestillfine · 08/12/2019 17:26

I should add if you put your details in when signing up rather than hers you have the option to send a one off box for £26, or if you want to save £2 once you've registered change your address to where you want it sent then order the flowers to be delivered and just remember to swap your address back after she gets the flowers/ cancel your subscription.

My hamper refund has gone into my bank today too. What I don't understand is if they are scammers why are they refunding peoples money? You would think they would do a runner with it all. Its very strange.

Fridayfun · 08/12/2019 17:35

My hamper refund also went through to my bank today. I cancelled on Thursday or Friday last week.

Reluctantbettlynch · 08/12/2019 17:43

strange how people are getting their money back although posters here have stated that it's definitely a scam 🧐
It's sad that they are being charged £15 per chargeback from customers that are going down that route so early

Onlyahalfbottle · 08/12/2019 18:01

I can't remember who said about the play doh fire engine but it's just turned up and it's huge! What a bargain for £6.60 thanks so much for the heads up!

Nzou1050 · 08/12/2019 18:02

Did anyone do that thing on Amazon a while back where you had to watch at least 5 minutes of a prime video, and then you'd get a £5 voucher? Anyone know when or how this £5 voucher will appear?

SingaporeSlinky · 08/12/2019 18:14

Nzou1050 I did that around the end of October, the voucher was in my Amazon account within a few days, so I placed an order and used it to take money off. Think it had an expiry date though. Check in your account.

supermariossister · 08/12/2019 18:16

Hey everyone, long term member of previous years here wondering if could have some advice, we lost my grandad end of August and my nans having a really hard time adjusting. She likes little knick knacks and I wondered about getting her a photo pillow of them or similar but would it be too upsetting maybe? Anyone have any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 08/12/2019 18:22

Normalouisebates for a 4 year old boy I would go with a basic duplo set or Lego juniors. or a sticker book and selection box :) maybe this Lego set in the 2 for £15 at Argos www.argos.co.uk/product/8727677

MeanMrMustardSeed · 08/12/2019 18:26

@Onlyahalfbottle so pleased it’s a good one. Didn’t get it myself as didn’t really need it, but was tempted!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 08/12/2019 18:28

fueled how about a kindle for reading? I love my paperwhite one and use it daily, I read much more now.

smallandfaraway the best water bottle is my long one think it was from Dunelm. 😁

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 08/12/2019 18:37

Re hampergate I think on the chargebacks front you have to try to contact the company to resolve/refund first anyway. If I’ve got nothing by say the 16th I’ll email highland hampers.

2019 will defo be the year of the hamper on this thread Xmas Wink

Moltenpink · 08/12/2019 18:39

I don’t mean to be insensitive towards anyone who was relying on the hampers, but I’m loving this drama. Genuinely have no idea if mine will turn up or not. If they are scammers, why all the refunds and daily posts? If they are honest, how can they afford to refund everyone so easily & how on earth do you make a profit on a £10 hamper? So many questions....

loveliesbleeding1 · 08/12/2019 18:46

I cancelled my order with highland gift company and they said they had given me a refund before emailing me for my order number so they can refund me,so god knows what’s going on.

BarkandCheese · 08/12/2019 18:56

I was browsing amazon for books for DD and came across this www.amazon.co.uk/Lego-Chain-Reactions-Klutz-Murphy/dp/0545703301?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&ref_=Oct_DLandingS_D_2b22a1f2_60&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I know how many people on here have Lego loving DCs so I thought I’d post it.

Thread 18 - Oh god, stop me now please
starrynight19 · 08/12/2019 18:59

The more time that the goes on the more bizarre the hamper thing is becoming. It’s like they actively want to refund people Hmm
The comment about the Australian hamper is even more odd. I just don’t know what to think.

fedup2017 · 08/12/2019 19:01

Thanks for the tip @barkandcheese . Not sure who it will go to but I have 4 boys who love Lego so it will be used!

TheGriffle · 08/12/2019 19:13

Could anyone please recommend something I can get for my hard to buy for Dm? I have bought a beach towel from Dock & Bay and I’ve got £15 left to spend on her.

She has no bloody hobbies, doesn’t want anything, can’t use bath stuff/smellies and has tonnes of jewellery already!

YuleAreBeingUnREASTIEable · 08/12/2019 19:14

Re hampergeddon, it’s so bizarre. The whole thing. Does anyone know if by ordering with them they have your credit card details so they can use them to buy stuff fraudulently? I don’t want to panic people. I’m assume this wouldn’t be possible? But I can’t work out why if they are scammers they would refund so readily.

NotYourHolidayDick · 08/12/2019 19:16

Hamper gate: a friend called the office they rent. The landlady said they owe money left right and centre, and she hasn't seen them for weeks.

So yes, I'm standing by my scam assumption. Not the smartest criminals are they Grin

NotYourHolidayDick · 08/12/2019 19:18

And I'm loving the drama too. The most exciting thing ever! I'd have paid my £12 just to be involved Grin

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 08/12/2019 19:22

Thanks for all the suggestions so far but none are quite right. She doesn't like kindles. We both got one and both sent them back Blush I can’t really think of any upgrades for things she has. They don’t have lots of money but she has quite nice things. @SmallAndFarAway I absolutely adore my YuYu hot water bottle

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 08/12/2019 19:26

Maybe rather than a scam (because it’s a rubbish one in theory) they tried to set up a business but can’t handle it? That’s why they are so quick to refund?
