Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

@BonnesVacances it was the rapesco sellotape dispenser that was recommended on here, it’s brilliant.

hoopdeloop · 08/12/2019 15:18

My local aldi has jigsaws for £4.99

BlueSkyAtChristmas · 08/12/2019 15:21

@CheekyFucker ah that’s such a shame about delivery charges. It should be equal across the UK and the rest of us pay a bit more to sub you. That’s how Royal Mail works

Glad the Portmerion/ Spode sale was useful to others. I’ve been looking for Christmas crockery for a few years but haven’t found any I like (traditional) that are decent quality for the price. So I’m over the moon. I may add to the Spode Christmas tree collection over the next few years. To start with I’ve purchased a few platters/ trays for biscuits/ cakes/ buffet items ... actually very useful as I usually use a baking dish or dinner plates for a buffet. Which is fine, but will look so much nicer on these display crockery. I figure I’ll use them for the whole month of December every year, so not too much of an extravagance!

imsorryiasked · 08/12/2019 15:22

@OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny the works had some. Also garden centres seem to have loads!

Winterwarmer21 · 08/12/2019 15:47

I cancelled my Hamper and am waiting for a refund.

What I don’t understand is that they have apparently refunded all customers who asked. So does that mean that no hampers have been shipped yet? Mine was supposed to be shipped on 1 December but I cancelled on Friday so it obviously hadn’t been shipped by then.

Look Fantastic 20% off with code: DEAL20

Pixie2015 · 08/12/2019 16:02

I twitched and bought a hamper on the last day was going to get 2 originally - think it might be a bad outcome 😔

Bluewavescrashing · 08/12/2019 16:13

Has anyone actually received a hamper?

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 08/12/2019 16:13

Hiya all. After some Freddies flowers help please! Anyone who has ordered free flowers using a referral code, please can you tell me if there is anything that indicates they a free, or that they are part of a subscription when they arrive?

EverybodyKeepCool · 08/12/2019 16:15

I emailed to cancel my hamper and have just checked my bank, the money has been refunded as promised by email. Good luck to everyone!! At least it will give us all something to talk about over Christmas when we've exhausted the weather, the queen's speech, how dry the turkey is etc... Xmas Grin

Wondering if anyone could offer any ideas for MILs Christmas present. She is so lovely and helps us out all the time. Recently she is just a bit down. I would love to get her something special. We can either do a joint present and spend about £200 or we could spend £50. Now for the hard bit
She’s t total, doesn’t wear make up or perfume, has a small house with no spare room and doesn’t really have any hobbies.

CheekyFucker · 08/12/2019 16:21

@EverybodyKeepCool that is so reassuring you got your refund. Surely that would not happen if they were scamming.

CheekyFucker · 08/12/2019 16:23

@BlueSkyAtChristmas I am thinking of increasing my order to make the postage worth it. I would love the entire Christmas Tree set and would use it every day 😆

Tempting. Very tempting. Hubby would hate it.

Notlongnow1 · 08/12/2019 16:26

@fueledwithfairydustandgin what about some lovely bedding?

SmallAndFarAway · 08/12/2019 16:27

@Fueled, afternoon tea voucher? A better version of something she has already and uses frequently?

In that vein, if anyone knows a hot water bottle that's the Rolls Royce of water bottles, do tell!

Lovemusic33 · 08/12/2019 16:28

TK Max had some lovely jigsaw puzzle when I was in there a couple of days ago, some were only £4.99 and some a bit more.

Redwinestillfine · 08/12/2019 16:30

@tinysnickersaremyfavourite When you get your Freddie's box you have to enter bank details. It's a subscription in that the default settings assume you want flowers delivering every week so they will take £24 every week if you do nothing. You can cancel however ( or do what I do and log in once a month to uncheck the deliver this week boxes, and just get flowers when you want/ change your address to get the flowers se to someone else as a present). The flowers have always been gorgeous and unusual (and cheaper than using other flower delivery companies) so for me unchecking a few boxes every few weeks is worth it. If you want my Freddie's code PM me!

GraceQuirrell · 08/12/2019 16:33

I did not order a hamper - I had some in my basket at one point then decided not to risk it because of the delivery dates as I needed them to arrive for certain during the first week of Dec so changed my mind, I then put some of their stock clearance stuff in my basket when that went up but again decided against it yet I am still getting emails "updating me" as to when my order will be shipped. I really do hope people will get their hampers however this post from them has raised serious doubts with me. Why would a 3 person company send "supplies" to Australia (and Europe) in October "just in case"? - How could they be sure they'd need to send hampers to Australia in December people could change their minds and cancel long before then? What about the use by dates on the products? Who do they have in Australia (and Europe) sending out the hampers? Why wouldn't they just send them direct to the customers from the UK and save themselves the 2 step postage costs? It doesn't make any sense.

Dss requested "Any kind of Christmas teddy" on his letter to FC. Found this lovely soft penguin in home bargains (approx 30cm tall) for £3.99 and tied some ribbon around its neck to make it look a little more festive.

Our local Home bargains didn't have a great selection of Christmas stock. However manager to cross a telescope off the list for £9.99 which looks alright!

Are there any Firebox codes please? Would really appreciate one Smile

SingaporeSlinky · 08/12/2019 16:56

TK Maxx online has some Spode Christmas tree print dinner plates, side plates and bowls. Can’t remember who was looking.

Smileatthesmallthings · 08/12/2019 17:08

@Fueledwithfairydustandgin We bought my DM a kindle and preloaded it with books and it's been by far the best and most well-received present I've ever got her.

tinysnickersaremyfavourite · 08/12/2019 17:09

@Redwinestillfine
If I use a code and send the free ones to someone else, will they
a) know that they were free?
b) know that they are a subscription?

I just wanted to send a one off bunch to a friend who is having a rubbish week but don't want her to think she's getting an ongoing subscription!

Yeknom · 08/12/2019 17:13

@tinysnickersaremyfavourite unless it's changed since I did it last year. The recipient will not know they're free, but they also don't know who they're from as you can't put a card/note in so you'll have to verbally tell your friend they're from you. Hope that makes sense x
