Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

stuck for men gifts. Already got the Gillette thing but need something else. the man likes kit cars and is in a kit car club. He likes cars in general. Doesn't really drink. Also likes to read.

Ohmygoodmess · 04/12/2019 16:32

@SweetPeaPods as far as I know they just send you a reward card if you’re a VIP member, I have a card but haven’t bought anything since last Christmas and still got the email. Pic of terms & conditions it seems like anyone who isn’t already a VIP member can use the code & they’ll send a card out to them (if I’m reading it properly!)

Justonedayatatime11 · 04/12/2019 16:37

Not a bargain as such, but there's a great website called pickyomix.com which sells 1kg bags of pic n mix. Either potluck or choose your own. I've bought some for teenagers etc

Maranello · 04/12/2019 16:39

Posted this at the end of the last thread but I see @Ohmygoodmess also got the Hotel Chocolat email!

£10 off velvetisers for VIP cardholders in store or online with code HOHO. Only valid until 9am on Friday.
Same code HOHO also gets you 15% off non-velvetiser purchases too.

Email says you can pick up a VIP card instore (they have them at the tills) and get the discount. Not sure if same applies online, but worth a try?

Maranello · 04/12/2019 16:41

Last Hotel Chocolat one! The email says:

"It’s easy. Simply use the code HOHO at online checkout and we’ll automatically enrol you to our VIP ME programme."

So looks as if you can get the £10 off velvetiser and 15% off everything else even if you're not already signed up to the VIP card.

@Gustavo1 if you go on instagram people often share pictures of their gin box

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 04/12/2019 16:42

sixp how about a stop animation kit to use with her phone? my dd 11 has got into this and loves making videos with toys/Lego. or a blank comic book was a winner on her birthday. is she into baking/cooking? maybe a hamper related to that. is she into any particular fandom relating to Netflix programmes or films she watches? my dd collects funko pop figures and Harry potter lego. but there's a brilliant stranger things or friends set if she's into that. there's a new Amazon tv box thing similar to the echo but for tv where you ask it to play certain programmes. or if she hasn't got one an echo dot for music.

or my go to fillers - hot water bottle, fleecy blanket, socks, pjs, gloves, hat, a hamper of favourite foods. a new film/voucher for tv subscription service wrapped up with popcorn/popcorn box and drinks cup.

Mipe · 04/12/2019 16:54

Sixp how about a purse with some gift cards for her favourite shops / food places inside it?

ineedto · 04/12/2019 16:58

My local Dobbies has 70% off last Christmas' candles today instore. Perfect and big ones under £6.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 04/12/2019 16:59

Hi all, am a long (as in years and years) time lurker and have just created an account for this thread, which I've also been following for years!
I'm wondering if the HC Velvetiser would be suitable for an infant school staff room, what do people think? To much faff/maintenance?
Oh and 20% off Barbie, Fisher Price and Hot Wheels at Argos!

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 04/12/2019 16:59

I’m done shopping (whoop) but just here awaiting my hamper - I’m sure the bargain £12 ones were being despatched from the 11th?

Have to say I’m glad I joined this thread early - all my big bargains (£50 off a £100 very spend, Argos reductions and Smyths £5 off every £50 came mid to end October!

I thought Black Friday was crap this year

Sixp · 04/12/2019 17:02

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts Thank you for lots of ideas. She’s never been take with stop animation, but has enjoyed making the occasional IMovie. She has an Alexa Echo. She does like baking, but I’m not sure what I’d get her as we have lots of tins and cutters and stuff at home. She got a waffle maker for her birthday which she loved! She’s against single use things and short lived gifts and doesn’t like branding. She used to enjoy Shadowhunters but now has a poster and the books. She’s watching Sabrina at the moment. She’s just a sensible, active busy person!

ineedto · 04/12/2019 17:03

@yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear I imagine a bit of a faff to be honest.

sleepismysuperpower1 · 04/12/2019 17:09

@Sixp what about tickets to see a show? Matilda the musical is really good

Sixp · 04/12/2019 17:22

sleepismysuperpower thank you, it’s a good suggestion but we have already seen it! We did love it. But dd preferred phantom! She likes things which she thinks are a bit more grown up now, although she’s not in to make up or jewellery? She’s not a girlie girl. I have her a couple of tickets to things already, and some little things, I’m just looking for the ‘big present’. It’s so hard! You are all lovely to keep suggesting things. I feel awful saying that she already has them or has done them!

Daphine2004 · 04/12/2019 17:27

I have a Hotel Chocolat code for £10 off the velvetiser, not starter kit. Says it’s personalised so first to dm can have it as can only be used once.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 04/12/2019 17:33

Ahh, thanks @ineedto back to the drawing board. I might need one for myself though so...

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 04/12/2019 17:36

Not sure if it's been mentioned but myvery rewards on Vodafone are offering a free box of Lindor truffles. £2.28 postage!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 04/12/2019 17:37

@Sixp don't worry, it gets harder to buy for them as they get older. has she got her ears pierced? my dd wasn't into jewelry at all but felt very grown up getting them done. the other thing she enjoyed was horse riding lessons if you have a place near you? we bought her a block of 10 for christmas

FatimaLovesBread · 04/12/2019 17:39

Did anybody do the black friday glossybox offer?

I did the black friday subscription where I got one months sub for £5 and then bought a mystery box for £5. Should I have received a monthly box? Or will it wait for the December one?
Post came today and it was just the Mystery box

thebrightestcoloursfillmyhead · 04/12/2019 17:43

@Sixp how about gig tickets to see her favourite band with her best mate(s)?

Or a holiday if there's a place she's been wanting to visit. Assuming budget allows of course.

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 04/12/2019 17:47

For people thinking ahead to next year, harrods website has reduced its lego advent calendars (Harry Potter and city versions) to £11.95. However there is a stinging almost-£6 delivery charge! But if you are in London (or know someone who is) it might be worth looking in store

Sarahclacko · 04/12/2019 17:50

Has anyone done the Good Housekeeping offer again this year? I did it last year and cancelled without difficulty after the 6 offer issues but not sure whether doing it again this year is possible or not fair?
Confused Blush

Sixp · 04/12/2019 17:53

sleepismysuperpower She doesn’t have her ears pierced but doesn’t want them done. She would love riding lessons, but I wanted her to have something physical to have on Christmas Day as she will already be getting tickets to things and a driving lesson!
thebrightestcoloursfillmyhead thanks for your suggestion. We’ve already got her a little trip with a friend. So she basically will receive tickets or vouchers for three things which will all happen at later dates. As she’s only 12, I’d really like her to have a present to open and use that day too! I was wondering about sphero, but it’s play looks quite limited. I was also thinking of a Switch, but her brother really wanted one of these for a while, so he would probably use it more, and he has enough presents 😂

Sixp · 04/12/2019 17:54

Ps she loves listening to music. But has AirPods and Spotify, so I’m not sure anything else is required!
