Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.

@Andvent I agree I find myself just scrolling past there used to be lots of bargains now there's hardly any

Sixp · 04/12/2019 21:14

Mumto3thatsme thanks I’ll look in to that.
I’m so sorry if too many people have posted ideas for me. It’s totally my fault - apologies.

Andvent · 04/12/2019 21:19

Not at all just you, Sixp; it's been happening across all these threads lately not just this one. Also, dont apologise. As I said, it is possible that the majority of people are happy now for these threads to be more of a gift guide mixed with some bargains. I'm certainly not in charge of deciding content and policing posts. I just thought I'd raise the issue in case it is something that other people feel the same about and perhaps we could all vote to maybe have something put in the OP about trying to keep the chat to bargain discussion only (if people feel that way)?

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/12/2019 21:28

I'm finished apart from odds and ends on Friday. I'm going to a RL shopping centre

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 04/12/2019 21:29

@Sixp if you are already planning on upgrading her iPad, how about the iPad Pro?

Or if you were to get riding lessons, how about some jodhpurs and boots as a physical gift?

101Robin · 04/12/2019 22:34

I ordered my Moomin notebooks 18th and they finally arrived today (so over 2 weeks). They are really beautiful but the magnetic sides were broken!

If anyone else has this issue, I solved it by pressing the magnetic side hard against a wall, puting some heavy books on top, and then leaving it for a few hours. Seems to have realigned the magnetic parts.

gaggiagirl · 04/12/2019 22:35

Sainsbury's have a homeward sale on all the Christmas crockery is reduced and beautiful!
I everyone using their nectar apps and saving the offers? It's really boosting my nectar points and for instance today , I bought a tin of basics tomato's for 30p and got 70p back in nectar points. Worth building them up for next year's double up!

gaggiagirl · 04/12/2019 22:36

Homeware not homeward!

Theonlyoneiknow · 04/12/2019 22:56

buckeejit · 05/12/2019 00:03

Random but if anyone knows if bargainous paintbrushes for acrylics/oils, I'd be grateful (any sizes).

thaegumathteth · 05/12/2019 00:33

Thanks for the thread @Reastie

FWIW I don't mind the 'chat' on these threads / quite often people link to previous bargains or things I wouldn't have thought of etc. Quite a lot of the posts don't apply to me but I just scroll down I've still benefitted a lot .

Reastie · 05/12/2019 05:44

Andvent I’m happy to go with consensus but the present finder posts don’t bother me personally. I’ve bought some great bits I would’ve never thought of before thanks to some random ideas answering posters. If I get time I’ll set up an online vote and link here.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/12/2019 06:15

I like present ideas too. Quite often people also link to a bargain as well, so the two things overlap.

ThePortIsSunny · 05/12/2019 06:18

For those looking for or wanting to post discount codes, check the discount codes thread.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/3752157-Christmas-bargains-referral-thread-2

ThePortIsSunny · 05/12/2019 06:21

I don't mind the chat too much but Advent is right, there are less bargains posted now. I don't think we got to thread 18 by this time last year or did we? Maybe if people checked out the other threads on the Christmas board first for suggestions it would help. I'm happy either way.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/12/2019 06:30

Even if there's fewer bargains per thread, I don't think there's fewer bargains in total. I like the chat. I only see some posters in this thread, so it's nice to catch up over a few months until everyone disappears again! Xmas Smile
