Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

@Sarahclacko, I must've used the GH offer about 10 times now!

Puffinhead · 04/12/2019 18:05

@sixp, what about a Filofax? I’ve bought my Dd12 one, she loves being organised, with some fun stickers (birthday/Christmas countdown etc) lthough someone did mention these happy planner which are a similar idea and look really cool.

SleeptightDaisy · 04/12/2019 18:06

@Gustavo1 if you check out the craft gin page either on the website or Facebook it will show you what's in this month's box. It has a comment which says something like don't scroll further if you don't want to know.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 04/12/2019 18:09

@Sixp how about a Slush Puppy makes?

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 04/12/2019 18:09

Slush puppy maker, I mean.

Sixp · 04/12/2019 18:10

Puffinhead thanks for your idea. I feel that if I go through enough ideas eventually I will get the one! She has a drawer full of unused notebooks and organisers and fancy pads, which were all gifts when she was ill; so she is a bit overloaded!

Puffinhead · 04/12/2019 18:10

@Sixp - just read that she wanted a switch, I doubt a Filofax will compare! Though if it helps I also got my DD a Koala slanket from New Look and some pjs - perfect for vegging out.

Puffinhead · 04/12/2019 18:12

@Sixp crosspost! No worries, I wish you luck! There are other threads in the Christmas topic about what to buy young tween/teens, might be worth having a look through them?

imsorryiasked · 04/12/2019 18:17

@Sixp ok one more go - how about an "amazing you" type print from NOTHS

wibdib · 04/12/2019 18:24

@Luxplus I think you might need to get in David Blaine of Dynamo to hide your playhouse present - aren’t they the ones that are good at making things disappear for a while? Xmas Grin. Or get the Tardis to look after it and drop it in on Christmas morning...

dancemom · 04/12/2019 18:27

Going real life shopping tomorrow, wish me luck 😳

Themazeoflife · 04/12/2019 18:28

Sixp

An Alexa/Echo/ or google mini
Waterproof Bluetooth speaker for the shower
Oculus Quest

Gardenworm · 04/12/2019 18:28

@Sixp hoverboard? (totally over invested in someone else's gift...pick my idea! 🤣)

Sarahclacko · 04/12/2019 18:36

@NoWordForFluffy thank you - off to order now Xmas Smile

RJnomore1 · 04/12/2019 18:37

@Sixp I’m getting one of my girls a sewing machine so she can adapt her own clothes?

Nearlyadoctor · 04/12/2019 18:53

@Sixp - what about a Lava lamp for her bedroom. We bought Dd one last year direct from Mathmos who are the original company in Dorset who developed them. She was absolutely delighted , hers is a silver rocket shaped one but they do lots of colours and designs and they’re not plastic either like the cheap ones you pick up.

Nearlyadoctor · 04/12/2019 18:55

Sorry forgot the link

fatima I got the glossybox 10 for £10 and used credit to bring it down further. As was already signed up. I have had both birch/glossy the past 2 months to see the difference. Glossy more expensive including the postage, you get slightly more perhaps and packaging higher quality, which is perhaps where some of the extra cost goes. I got Birch a couple of years ago and think I used to get better samples. Interested to hear how others get on.

For anyone wanting to gift to charity, this is a local group to me that help vulnerable families and homeless, they have a wish list on Amazon, if anyone would like to donate m.facebook.com/groups/1656232844660117?tsid=0.515932972267113&source=result

Bargainchunter · 04/12/2019 19:03

@Sixp have you looked at the repairs tablets? They allow you to digitise your drawings, worth a look :)

catanddogmake6 · 04/12/2019 19:06

@Sixp, she sounds lovely. You must be really proud. Would a sonos work for her bedroom? I’ve been impressed by the wonderboom but Sonos would be more “grown up”. I also know you said she didn’t like jewellery but would something very classic work - maybe a silver locket. Something she can keep for a long time. Also I bought a neon effect print for my daughter - will see if I can find the link but a grown up picture/ print for her.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 04/12/2019 19:10

sixp other baking related gifts - maybe a mixer with a recipe book and a whole load of ingredients to get going on the day. or a new bowl, electric whisk and spoon etc. plus a turntable and cake decorating tools, can get tutorial books too. fondant of different colours would be good for this - home bargains had blocks for 75p each.

or something like a bread maker (some are great for cakes too). or other savoury options - soup maker, omelette maker, popcorn maker. or perhaps ice cream maker. then a recipe book to compliment which appliance.

is she into hot drinks? maybe a nice coffee maker with a range of flavoured syrups (tkmaxx have a huge range for £3.99 each or a box of mini ones) there was the milk frother too on other threads which would work well with this. could get her a thermos to go with.

EnglishRose1320 · 04/12/2019 19:15

@Sixp your dd sounds lovely and like she has a busy life. From what you have said I think I'd go for a hamper designed for Netflix/chill evenings. A really fluffy blanket, a reusable popcorn box, slippers, face masks, some snacks and then maybe a really decent speaker system for the t.v.

Moomin8 · 04/12/2019 19:15

Place marking

EnglishRose1320 · 04/12/2019 19:17

I've very nearly finished my shopping for my children, just need their main presents, know what they want, just holding out for deals.

My OH however I have no ideas for. He is very tricky to buy for. Main present wise some air pod things will do the job but he doesn't like anything cheap! I need presents from the children for him and for his stocking and I have no ideas!
