Thank you @luckiestgirl for the title which came from her post which I’ve copied below

‘I twitched on the moles.
And the Clinique
And at body shop (30% off)
And at love honey (I got £20 off)
And I’ve somehow bought an 8 foot Christmas tree.
And lights
And a TV.
And a fitness tracker.
And stocking fillers for the kids.

Oh god, stop me now please‘

Polly Pocket Mega Mall is currently £12 on Amazon, apparently down from £30 which I doubt but nevertheless it looks pretty good for £12.

Smelly50 · 06/12/2019 18:15

Kutsy , Aldi had some lovely hampers in with stuffing , packing etc at a Good price. Sometime tesco and the works have them . I often use a nice reusable jute bag

Kutsy · 06/12/2019 18:17

@Smelly50 thank you. Jute bag sounds great, less faff and re-usable! Where would you recommend for them? X

imsorryiasked · 06/12/2019 18:30

Amazon seem to have done good offers on toys at the mo:

LOL
Barbie
sylvanian families

Fuckingfuckssake · 06/12/2019 18:33

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts thank you, my Sister has bought her some second hand clothes, I thought Santa would stretch to new though!! I've had my birthday reward, it's a free teddy bear carrier with any purchase over £8, in store only, if anyone would like it please pm me, I'd have to forward it via email.

Zillaindie · 06/12/2019 18:35

So after hunting for step FIL, MIL has sent her demands for him to receive suede moccasin slippers.
Any decent recs? As cheap as possible (around £20 would be ok)

I cant vouch for this company as i have never ordered or researched them but there is a hamper company Hamper.com doing 15% off with code MY15 for the next 48 hours.

Again i HAVE NOT done any research other than receiving an email with the code in.

imsorryiasked · 06/12/2019 18:35

sylvanian raspberry house £6

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/12/2019 18:46

I lost my nerve and asked for a hamper refund. I do hope it's genuine and if it is hope they recover.

imsorryiasked · 06/12/2019 18:47

@Zillaindie ihg you can stretch to £24 landsend have these

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/12/2019 18:47

I got an email confirming refund about an hour later so will check my back after the weekend

Whattodowithaminute · 06/12/2019 18:55

@Zillaindie tkmaxx have some men’s moccasins in for about £15 RRP £40

DaisyChops · 06/12/2019 18:56

I had ordered 3 hampers and was sort of regretting it anyway as the recipients were wanting to exchange gifts before now so I'd had to buy more gifts (plus I have spent far too much this year even with this thread!) I sent an emailing cancelling and got a text about an hour later saying my refund had been processed. Might have took my chances for 1 but 3 was a bit of a risk

HelloSweetlings · 06/12/2019 18:57

If anyone is stocking up, Asda have 25% off if you buy 6 bottles of wine Wine

Kutsy · 06/12/2019 19:12

Hi there. I have also had a refund confirmation from highland gift company very promptly to my email. I almost feel a bit sorry for them but glad I cancelled as looking at the fb page, I would not have received them in time!

Themazeoflife · 06/12/2019 19:12

I have ordered 5 hampers and a couple of gift sets. I have a few more days I can wait but will be in a panic come Thursday night if nothing turns up.

I have looked at a few other options so I can sort something last minute if need be.

christmassymcchristmas · 06/12/2019 19:23

@LazyDaisey I saw the hamper link and then the thread zoomed on. There have been almost 18,000 posts on these threads. Do you read them all?

Fuckingfuckssake · 06/12/2019 19:31

Having a refund confirmation from HGC is not the same as having a refund, there wasn't any verification from Shopify themselves, I'll believe it when I see it.

christmassymcchristmas · 06/12/2019 19:33

There's a woman on their fbook page who has been defending them all day, talking of her outstanding customer service etc and ridiculing those who are getting a bit concerned.

Until she finally admitted she's yet to receive her hamper 🤦🏽‍♀️

RJnomore1 · 06/12/2019 20:25

Actually I personally do read or at least scan every message on these threads,

People are very very unlucky to have picked up on the two or three messages about the hamper and not any of the many ones expressing concern.

Hashing said that I ordered one first mention and I’m going to sit it out til the 11th and see what happens but I don’t really need it for anyone so there’s no pressure.

Paperthin · 06/12/2019 20:27

@NotUnderMyHeart some posted about Buckley London last week - there’s some sale items like bracelets for under £5. What a lovely gesture by your friend.

Smelly50 · 06/12/2019 20:29

Kutsy. Some times just a limited edition from local supermarket. Emma Bridgewater. David's shop emmerdale. I have many a woven hamper in the wardrobe. A bag is far better . You can even get personalised tote bags online .

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 06/12/2019 20:37

Yeah I’m holding out a bit longer for a hamper. It was a secure checkout ( lI wouldn’t have ordered if not) and paid for on CC so will ring the bank in the new year if nothing comes.

At the time we were all trying to work out how they were making money on a £35 hamper sold for £12 with free delivery and I guess if something seems too good to be true...

christmassymcchristmas · 06/12/2019 20:39

Yep, agreed. I'm sitting it out too despite being very sceptical. But it's those who can't afford to lose the money i feel for

Lc2006 · 06/12/2019 20:44

Thank you for the barbie link @imsorryiasked. Fab bargain Smile
