Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

MrsMad, that WAS a busy day yesterday, enjoy your quieter chilling and visiting.

Wreck, fair play cooking for 22, but I like your strategy of getting your duty done early so you can relax now too!! And at least you had today to get your emergency supplies to maintain your modesty Xmas Grin!!

Fluffy, I love the smell of the ham cooking, enjoy the baking too!

I was lucky - M&S was very quiet, so I got a lovely turkey (loads still on the shelves), and the lady in front was paying when I got to the till the queues were so small!! And I found something for DH - he can return it if necessary, but I actually think he will enjoy it. I also found a birthday card for DD, luckily we both thought of that this morning.

Well it’s started!. DM and DGM are here now, we are off for our walk later. We will walk to the church to go to the crib service at 4 and then have the Christmas Eve boxes when we get back. I probably won’t be on now until tomorrow, and won’t be on much. So if I don’t speak to you all before I hope you have a very merry Christmas

CrazyBaubles · 24/12/2019 14:05

Wreck similar story here. DH realised he didn't get some boxers off the radiators before we left and I brought new socks which are too big and keep sliding all over the place. Tesco saved the day here too (and it wasn't overly busy although we were in Oban which is only small).

MrsMad I hope you're well rested now after your busy day.
My dad braved Cwmbran today and said it was mad!

The b&b we stayed in last night was full on christmas decorated, all cracklings fires, tartan blankets and lights everywhere. I loved it.

We caught the ferry and are now where we'll be staying until 27th. We passed Highland cows on the way which I was excited about. I've posted a pic of them and our view, it's beautiful. I think we'll go and wander the tiny high street soon. Will have to wrap up though, it is freezing here.

Hope everyone is knee deep in lovely Christmassy things 🎄🎄

I love Highland coos, Crazy! I have a Bothy cross stitch of one!

The view is stunning. It's definitely chilly up there though. 🥶🥶🥶

I hope you have a lovely time.

JoGose · 24/12/2019 15:16

We’ve just opened our Christmas Eve boxes. Bath time now and then settling down for Christmas films!. I’ve got 3 very excited children and 1 extremely tired babyGrin

WreckTangled · 24/12/2019 18:51

Crazy that looks awesome!

I've just ordered us all an Indian £120 Xmas Shock obviously not so bad split between us all. Children have eaten, had new pjs and hot chocolates and are watching a film.

NerosFiddle · 24/12/2019 19:25

Happy Christmas all!

JoGose · 24/12/2019 19:59

The kids have put out one carrot chopped into 9 pieces, a mince pie, a bit of cookie, milk and marshallows. I had to stop them giving him cheese and sausage😂. He’s going to be full after visiting our house Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/12/2019 20:20

Merry Christmas Eve all. Been MIA due to a rotten cold but all grand now. Everything is done and Christmas jimjams and the booze have been opened.

Wreck your missing undies reminded me of the year I forgot DD1's undies AND my makeup on a weekend trip to Center Parcs. Her undies could be washed every night but I had to show my bare haggy face to the world for 3 days Shock

TheWoollybacksWife · 24/12/2019 20:21

Neros I meant to say that I'm glad you were discharged without having an op. Hope you are fully recovered soon.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 24/12/2019 20:50

Bit of a fail here tonight: I smashed the Santa plate! 🙈 But it glued well enough to be used (and the kids were fine about it!), so never mind!

All presents are now wrapped and in place. We've had mince pies and I'm going to summon some cheese, I think!

Christingle done, Love Actually watched and now heading to bed. Happy Christmas all.

FireflyGirl · 24/12/2019 22:22

Been miserable with tooth infection 😫

All ready for tomorrow. Rudolph has the world's biggest carrot, Santa has an orange (DS wanted to leave him 'something healthy' instead of a mince pie - hopefully he'll have filled up at your house, Jo!!), the turkey is finally defrosted, presents are wrapped, veggies are prepped.

Think my fail beats yours, Fluffy. I can't find the Santa plate. Or the stockings!! I definitely had them when I sorted the Christmas stuff earlier this month, but no idea where they are now. DS has his stocking fillers in a Peppa Pig 'Happy Birthday' gift bag, DH has a superhero themed one, and I have 'Congratulations on your wedding'. Good thing DS can't read yet!! I also re-wrapped the Santa presents as DH did them in the same paper as the rest of DS's presents. He's one of those who will notice something like that!!

FireflyGirl · 24/12/2019 22:43

Was trying to catch up, but my face is hurting so going to have a shower and then bed.

Goodnight, and a very Merry Christmas 🎅

ConstantlyCooking · 24/12/2019 22:48

Good night all- merry Christmas! I have now wrapped, baked, been to Christmas Eve Mass and read 'Twas the night before Christmas with DC and Dgd

halocompanach · 24/12/2019 22:54

Tip of the night - if enlisting help from a man with the wrapping make sure he knows the different between cricket bat tape bought as a gift and sellotape to wrap said gift. Angry

Hint...they are not at all similar.

JoGose · 24/12/2019 23:08

Presents are all in place, kids finally asleep!. Goodnight all, a very merry christmas to you all.

Mrsmadevans · 24/12/2019 23:32

Have been to see Mum and opened her presents with her this evening, put it all away for her so she could use it all, mostly talc, bath stuff, sweets, biscuits , jewelry , 2 skirts. this afternoon we went to see our NDN, the poor thing was very sad bless him Smile but we tried our best to cheer him up Smile

Mrsmadevans · 24/12/2019 23:41

IT'S CHRISTMAS!!! Xmas Grin

ConstantlyCooking · 24/12/2019 23:49

Looking forward to tomorrow and fighting the Christmas Eve sadness that always comes at this point. Looking forward to seeing Dgd's first Christmas

We've been to the pub next door before coming back and watching The Grinch. Finally in bed now (DH is snoring).

I hope everyone has baked, left presents and eaten a bit of mince pie (or orange) to show Santa has been.

🎄 Merry Christmas Everyone! 🎄
