Morning!

New thread for the new day. Temperature is starting to drop again and it's going to be rather chilly for the weekend and the start of December!

Let's see if we need thread 9 or not! Xmas Grin

It hasn't rained here till now Em, despite us only being 20 miles down the road from you, isn't it daft, you wouldn't think it would be so different weather wise. we had lovely sun and blue skies most of the day, it's gone awfully cold just now and it's getting dark very early. Shortest day today of course Xmas Grin

JoGose · 22/12/2019 16:02

emrys that’s lovely! I like your blue walls

mrs we’ve had a lovely day thank you. Hopefully tomorrow it isn’t too hectic with 7 kids all excitedGrin. I’m so glad your mum had a nice day.

I’ve managed to get wellies!!. My cousin has come home from the hospital today with his little girl, she’s like a little doll❤️. A lovely little Christmas baby, unfortunately they didn’t give her a Christmassy name though Xmas Sad.

EmrysAtticus · 22/12/2019 17:27

That is crazy Mrs! I am so glad we have done the bit meal today. Feel so relaxed now as nothing really to do for Christmas Day itself. Presents are all bought and wrapped. We have huge amounts of chocolate and booze in so all we need to do is raid M&S tomorrow to get all the tasty things we fancy for our buffet on the day. Christmas Day will be presents, a walk and buffet food.

JoGose · 22/12/2019 18:32

Not had a very good evening! My uncle came over to my mums and we ended up getting into a heated argument. I’m not a fan of him anyway, but he was laughing about a comment he made to a woman (who was alone with her child) about her body. The woman knew his wife and called her to say he had made her feel very uncomfortable. I told him I didn’t think it was funny and he shouldn’t be making comments about anyone’s body. It ended up with everyone saying I was in the wrong so am home and quite upset now.

WreckTangled · 22/12/2019 20:45

We're going to Costco tomorrow Grin

Flouncy she sounds horrible!

Ds was awful at my parents too and said he wanted more presents BlushBlush in his defence he had two and dd had five. I did tell him that was very rude and spoke to him about it afterwards but I think he's just overwhelmed and tired. Sigh. He went to bed nicely so fingers crossed we can close the bedroom door tonight and he might have a lie in if the cat doesn't wake him.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/12/2019 20:56

M&S will be civilised ( mwah ha ha ) actually Waitrose does the best in crowd control. I am severely tempted to go after work tomorrow but I'll resist .

Costco can be Heaven or Hell . Not sure how much Christmas stock they have now but there should be plenty of food and wine .

I'm planning to drop DH at work on the 24th (I'm on leave) and brave Sainsburys for some last minute essentials .

It is all coming together in the last few hours now .
Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 22/12/2019 20:58

We're going to Costco purely for food in big quantities as there's 23 of us Grin worst case there's a Morrison's five minutes from where we're going to someone not me can go and battle with that!

EmrysAtticus · 22/12/2019 21:00

I don't think it will be too bad because we have done the main meal so we can avoid the busiest sections. Also there are no set things we want to get so it doesn't matter if we can't get to a certain bit, we just give it a miss. Am hoping that my theory will work anyway. I have sharpened my elbows in preparation though Grin

JoGose · 22/12/2019 21:16

flouncy good on you for putting your foot down!

mrs my uncle is a capital Ahole!. I don’t like suggestive men either, and his son was agreeing with him so I had to but in as it just makes me sick seeing little boys going the same way!. All is well now though. The baby is really beautiful, they’re all settled now bless them.

wreck fingers crossed for you that DS isn’t woken up by the cat and you get an easier day!

I’m off to bed now. Christmas Eve eve tomorrow! I can’t believe how fast it’s all come around.

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 22/12/2019 21:22

Wreck, how many bathrooms will you have? 23 people is a lot!

Em, as long as you've sharpened your elbows you'll be fine!

70, I'm glad you're back at work. That must mean you're recovering well. Good news. I'm going to Tesco (en route to Booths!) on Christmas Eve. It'll be about 6am, so will hopefully be alright. I'd think they'll be re-stocking frantically all night, so it should be OK.

Flouncy, she sounds like a cheeky twat. Just ignore her where possible!

WreckTangled · 22/12/2019 21:25

Each bedroom has an en suite think there's 12 rooms

JoGose · 22/12/2019 22:02

Good luck to all those going shopping!

JoGose · 22/12/2019 22:02

Oops pressed send to early!. When I was in ASDA today it was manic!

Morning all!

I'm home now. Thank you for your kind thoughts. The antibiotics worked so no surgery for me.

I hope everyone is week and I'll try and catch up later.

EmrysAtticus · 23/12/2019 09:34

Phew Nero so glad you are home and not recovering from surgery!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 23/12/2019 09:41

Phew. Good news, Neros!

We're on the train on the way back to Glasgow now, after a stressful morning with annoying children! No idea what we will do when we get back to Glasgow as it's an awkward amount of time where getting to and from anywhere could be tricky as we wouldn't have time to do much once we got anywhere! 🤔🤔🤔

It felt like it might snow as we were leaving, typically!

Yeah, I know, flouncy. Doesn't make them any less annoying, however! 😂😂 Though I've not really said much about them being shits over the last couple of days! Are you reading my mind?!

Don't answer the door. Text to say you went out when they didn't arrive on time! Xmas Grin

JoGose · 23/12/2019 16:17

flouncy good luck today!

fluffy how was the Santa train?

There’s been loads of Christmas films on tv today. We’ve had the on in the background for our Christmas party. It’s manic😂

Evening everyone 😊
I have been missing in action till now 🤗
Up with the lark quarter to 6 , then Morrison's , Tesco, home to unpack, then have a cuppa and bath .Then Waitrose for prescription and ice cream 😄 had to be Phish food and vegan choc fudge 😊, no prescription there so have to go back ltr🙄. Then Aldi . We managed to get everything we wanted except my prescription. I came back unpacked the food , then packed up table presents for my Mum. We went to Mum's , sorted her out , she had visitors , sorted out visitors and left them all enjoying a mince pie and a choc log 😂
We went to my Dad's grave, put flowers on and took pics for My Mum to see, while we were there we met my very best friend from my childhood , his wife and he were putting flowers on her Mum's grave too. So it was lovely to see them , then went back up to Mum's. Mum had lunch and we sorted everything out and came home and collapsed 😄. I have just had to chase up flowers Mum sent to ppl for Christmas, thank goodness they have all had them 😊
Must go and see what you have been up to , hope you have been enjoying yourselves 🤗

JoGose · 23/12/2019 17:32

flouncy she sounds like a right bitch!

God mrs you’ve been awfully busy today! How were the shops? Busy?

Settling down to watch the grinch now, we’ve made gingerbread houses earlier, and are having some with a cup of tea. The Christmas Eve pyjamas have come, I’ve got the kids gruffalo themed ones and then our Christmas Eve film will be the gruffalo. Rather chuffed with my creativity😂
