Now that we're well on the way to Christmas I thought we could share what we've purchased in preparation for the big day!

I love writing down what I've bought to keep my mind organized and I also reading what everyone else has bought too for ideas and inspiration.

Today I've bought
Festive cutlery holders
Kids festive pyjamas
Personalised cheese board for my step dad
80 Xmas cards for the kids to give to their class mates
And I also found a festive decorated pouch of dog treats for our dog (doesn't go out of date until Feb 2020 either 😊)in my local supermarket this morning!

A few small gifts from Matalan - sets of four different sized toiletry bags which were on three for two, pet bowls, a toy for my twin great niece and great nephew, a couple of Xmas decorations, and a robin mug and tumbler for an elderly aunt.
Free delivery and £15 off as I spent over £75.
I’m on a roll here!

Lc2006 · 07/09/2019 08:39

This week I have bought the kids new boots and filled all their stockings thanks to the bargains thread.

I've also bought new bedding, a kumi creator bracelet maker and a Fimo set to start the presents off. Aiming to be done by end of November so we can relax and get in the Christmas spirit come December.

Home bargains starting to get their Christmas stuff in.
Bought a few tree decs, a L'Oréal mens gift set and a peppa pig slide playset.

dementedma · 07/09/2019 17:52

Socks and facepacks for the girls' stockings. A woolly scarf for dd2s birthday.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/09/2019 17:56

I bought some more Lego City yesterday. It's already reduced on Amazon, and I had another fiver off due to adding a child profile to my Amazon Family account.

Abibranning · 07/09/2019 18:31

Paper chains and a giant clear bauble to put lights in and a wreath polystyrene thing to make anew one. I made ours over 10 years ago might try a different one this year. All from the Range. Ours has the Christmas stuff in quarantine at the mo, while they set it up. Love new decorations.

mummmy2017 · 07/09/2019 18:39

Card factory have children's books at £1 each, 20 different ones, lovely books.

Mumshappy · 07/09/2019 18:56

I bought a little tikes car carrier in the sale at Smyths toys online today.

Xenadog · 07/09/2019 19:16

A panetonne (sp?)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/09/2019 20:11

Not bought anything, we have 3 of our 5 birthdays still to go before end of October!

I did however make some ginger scented salt dough tree ornaments today Blush, although in my defence they were technically prototypes for a pta event (and absolutely not for my cookie themed Christmas tree I'm planning this year, oh no)

everythingisginandroses · 07/09/2019 22:10

Where is selling panettone, Xenadog?

FredaFox · 07/09/2019 22:17

What s a 1st December box?!
In my day it was advent calendar and Christmas day, now we have Christmas eve boxes and those bloody elves, what's the use of a 1st December box?

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 07/09/2019 22:23

Not buying presents yet but have booked 2 Christmas outings with DH (teens won't come) and a gin advent calendar. The rest can wait🎄

I hate Christmas shopping and generally leave it until December.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 07/09/2019 22:31

I bought 13 of these make up bags that open out flat. They were reduced to £15 then I got 20% off. I shall put in a £10 Superdrug voucher and that is all my work team done plus my teenage nieces!

rabbitsarefluffy · 07/09/2019 22:33

Bought these for nephews

what's the use of a 1st December box?

I used to do the Christmas Eve Hamper to wind the DC down , they had new PJs (usually flannel plaid ones from Primark ) slippers, a jar of sweets, Bath Bomb, sachet of hot chocolate .
We used to go out on Christmas Eve and I "checked the back door was locked" and quickly put them in front of the fireplace for when they got home .

A couple of years ago we swapped it to the 1st . My DC are older ( he'll be 20 , she is 17)
DD likes PJs from Victoria Secret Pink so it makes sense to wear them earlier . They have new underwear and bathrobes .
Lindt chocolate . Still the jar of sweets (that;s a Tradition)

So it's not an extra , it's just moved .date
It's just a nice extra thing , they need PJs and underwear anyway .

You do what suits your family .
