Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

My local John Lewis has some reduced wrapping and decorations. The whole feel of the store is one that's preparing for Christmas! Xmas Grin

Bought some sippers for all of us and some snug fit pyjamas for dss from landsend. Thanks for the code.

moobar · 30/08/2019 14:03

@PinkDaydreams I got the zogg training seat for 9.99 in Argos but it's back up.

Amazon have it today at 9.99 for the 12-24 month but 14.98 for under 12 months.

Thank you so much for the LE tip.. slightly insane.. I just got over £200 of clothes for £50 and sorted winter coats as well as next summers clothes. Most of the sizes stock were all 8-9 years (lucky DD). The flip Christmas tree t-shirt for £2.80 from £17 was especially good!

PinkDaydreams · 30/08/2019 14:19

@moobar thank you!

Chocolateunicorn · 30/08/2019 15:55

The M&S summer sizzler goes 90% on Monday, may be a few bargains left.

woodwaj · 30/08/2019 16:19

Free delivery at menkind this weekend with a large sale section

Chocolateteabag · 30/08/2019 16:43

Hello - nearly missed getting on the first thread of this year!
Another one saying thank you for the Lands end tip off

This year I'm trying to balance overspending on Christmas too early, and my urges to stockpile pre- Brexit, with getting the bargains I actually "need". I already get panicky at the thought of being snowed in without sufficient supplies (live in the hills and it happens).

My local Tesco was rearranging the toy department today ready for New Christmas stock, they had tonnes of really lovely looking toys for half price, but I had DD with me so couldn’t take a look! Do they do a half price toy sale, or is it Sainsbury’s I’m thinking of?

Also, has anyone seen an Aladdin doll on their travels? I’ve seen plenty in his ‘street’ clothes but DD is desperate for him in his prince outfit and I’ve had no luck

sideorderofchips · 30/08/2019 17:49

My local new look had some gorgeous thick shawl/scarf type things on sale for £2

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 30/08/2019 17:56

Hi and thank you for the lands end tip, have sorted quite a few presents.
I was in sainsbury's today and they had some of their homeware stuff reduced. Lovely duvet sets from £9, candles and reed sets from £2.66, also some stationery and toys reduced.

SquintEastwood · 30/08/2019 18:38

@woodwaj thanks for the Memling tip.

I've been eyeing up the hot chocolate bombs from there and now wading through for ideas for DS :o

SquintEastwood · 30/08/2019 18:38

Memling = Menkind clearly 😂

woodwaj · 30/08/2019 18:45

@squinteastwood it was the chocolate bombs that I was looking at. Haven't ordered debating on what dates would be like?!

SquintEastwood · 30/08/2019 18:49

That was what I was debating too but they're for Christmas Eve so I guess at worst they'll be a month out of date and does it really matter - chocolate and marshmallows are probably safe!

So much on there but I can't decide what i actually need to buy versus all the stuff I want to buy for me :o

Snog · 30/08/2019 18:58

@recklessgran thank you so much for the Landsend code. I bought 2 gorgeous pairs of winter PJs for my mum for £13 and a few bits for myself - great discount.

Anyone fancy using this one up?

Thank you so much @CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces! Now to sit on my hands to not get into a bidding war!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 30/08/2019 19:09

No worries tots
