Jingle those bells because it’s time for thread 1!

The aim of this thread is to share ideas for Christmas bargains and present ideas and a little bit of Christmas chat etc. I’ll try my best to do a post with the most popular links, if there’s anything specific you’d like me to add or if something I’ve put up doesn’t work please let me know in bold . Thank you

As usual no affiliate links (I’m still not exactly sure what they are but consensus was not to have them) and if we have any sites to post personal sign up links we’ll do this on a separate thread so all can post their links, I’ll do this when —I get around to it— soon.

I'm trying to resist the urge to even look at lands end, we currently have a cardboard box mountain waiting to go to the recycling mixed recycling wheelie bin already full it looks worse than it is as not flattened them yet as the kids have messed round with them on and off, but it's definitely telling me to lay off the bargains 😂

totallyLosingIt · 29/08/2019 22:27

Having looked at LE and convincing myself I didn't need anything three times today, I have now bought some slippers for my Gran. Hopefully that is the itch scratched and I can move on 😅

MulticolourTriangles · 29/08/2019 22:52

WHSmith have a sale on. Some good reductions and a few Christmas bits included, lights, tags etc here with free click and collect delivery from store or P&P over £20

Barbarara · 29/08/2019 22:52

@LikeSilver Disney definitely had 20% off offers in late Oct/ early Nov the last couple of years.

Pannalash · 29/08/2019 22:54

101Robin and NoWordForFluffy

Thank you for the Lands End Code much appreciated

BrightonBB · 30/08/2019 00:00

Imsorryiasked - thank you for ‘new tab’ suggestion re LE website - saved me going mad. I have also voiced my frustration on the LE LiveChat and they were very friendly and agreed it is annoying.

PinkDaydreams · 30/08/2019 07:26

@MulticolourTriangles thank you! Got little one a pop up book and some childrens Xmas wrapping paper. I actually had a basket full of Xmas paper then put it back as I know I have so many rolls already in the cupboard left over from last year! I’m trying to behave!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/08/2019 07:37

You know those Really Useful wrapping paper boxes? I've two of those full of Christmas paper!

Thegirlhasnoname · 30/08/2019 07:52

Another that made use of the Lands End tip - thank you!

mammmamia · 30/08/2019 08:35

I was ordering back to school stuff on amazon yesterday and it offered me £6 extra if I topped up my credit balance with £80. Not sure if everyone gets this but worth looking out for.

gaggiagirl · 30/08/2019 09:13

mamma I had that offer a few months ago, well worth it if you're a regular amazon spender like me!

gaggiagirl · 30/08/2019 09:16

Looking for a gift if any one can make any recommendations please.
DD wants a new hairbrush, she has a pink tangle angle with a handle for swimming and wants one like that but for dry hair, or more like a proper brush she says.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Kirbs1979 · 30/08/2019 09:19

Got this offer through from Disney for 50% off specific items. Web address is shopdisney.co.uk/fan-friday

My 'wet brush' is 10 times better than a tangle teaser. Have a look at those @Reastie

Brassicbumblebee · 30/08/2019 09:24

Sorry that should have been @gaggiagirl

TalkingOrmer · 30/08/2019 09:25

@gaggiagirl My DD aged 8 got this one recently and really likes it. Link: Denman D90L Tangle Tamer Ultra Brush www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TQSMU1O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Reastie · 30/08/2019 09:34

I’m popping out soon for the day and working on the basis the thread won’t be used up by the time I come back but if it does please feel free to set up another in my absence and I’ll put my link bits on the next thread, assuming that won’t be the case though!

Has anyone seen any inflatable sit in ring things for a baby please? I’ve found speedo armbands in b&m for only £1. Also a 5 piece inflatable set reduced from £5 down to £1, sharks or flamingo design (this didn’t have the ring with a seat in though otherwise I’d have bought one!)

gaggiagirl · 30/08/2019 09:49

Thank you all for the brush recommendations. Denman one for DD and ill be having one of those wet brushes!

recklessgran · 30/08/2019 10:21

It looks as though the Lands End clearance finishes today - just wanted to give you all the heads-up in case you planned to look for more bargains over the weekend. Don't forget to use the code DM30PC for your extra 30% off on top of the site reductions.

UrbanMage · 30/08/2019 10:52

Sass and Belle stuff has arrived and looks fab. They sent a code in the box as well:

5FORYOU and is valid till 30/09/19

Luxplus · 30/08/2019 11:03

There's a discount code for 20% on H&M for kids. Mine was 9238, not sure if the codes works for all.

TheHallouminati · 30/08/2019 11:17

Thanks for the recommendation of Lands End, I found some great deals on there. particularly pleased with some hand-knitted slipper socks reduced from £20 down to £3.50 with my code, and pleated scarf, same price and reduction as the socks.
I then rang up at midnight to add a few items to the order that I placed at 10pm and they did it no problem. Great customer service so far.
They must have been inundated with orders, just from Mumsnet!! Grin

woodwaj · 30/08/2019 11:37

The landend website is so bad!! I'm giving up browsing!

Chocolateunicorn · 30/08/2019 12:10

I'm going to be really cheeky here! Does anybody have the free Mewtwo code from Smyth's that they aren't using? My son would be eternally grateful.
