Morning! Congrats poetry! DS is also a total DH mini me, but then we had DD who is my mini me. Our toddler photos are eerily similar.

After a beautiful week here, we’ve woken up to monsoon season apparently. I’ve forgotten how to dress for rain!

ChristmasInJuly · 09/08/2019 08:10

Monsoon season too* that should say.
No thunder here though.

EmrysAtticus · 09/08/2019 08:10

It was crazy loud here fluffy! Fortunately DS slept through it :)

Dry here right now but due to rain later so we are going to sprint into town and go to the soft play and pick some stuff up then this afternoon settle down for a film and bake an apple and blackberry cake

NerosFiddle · 09/08/2019 09:32

Morning all.

Torrential rain here too. Can we just give up The pretence of it still being summer and go straight into winter?

I have physio later on, so it'll just be a quiet morning.

SuperPixie247 · 09/08/2019 12:24

I have missed out on 7 pages of thread! Shock

Thank you for all the well wishing. I start a new job on Monday Smile

Congrats on the baby Poetry he certainly is a beauty! I didn't like pregnancy either and stuck at 1 DS who is 3 now. I am also an only child.

Fluffy my (now ex but best friend) DH actually said, in the bloody delivery suite, "well...at least we know hes mine". As he looked so similar. I was a bit mortified mind HmmGrin

Well done on the weight loss chips I am in awe of those who can commit to something like that.

I hope the MRI comes back positive mrs

Sorry if I have missed out anything else...7 pages is a lot!

SuperPixie247 · 09/08/2019 12:38

Scratch that, I have just been offered another job GrinGrinGrin

It works well around my other one too.

After 4 months of unemployment due to poor mental health, it is such a positive step to get back into work.

EmrysAtticus · 09/08/2019 12:41

Congrats pixie!

IAintWroteNoPoetry · 09/08/2019 12:57

Thank you Emrys, I think he might be our only, but then you can never say never. DH is one of 4 and I’m one of 5, so he’ll have plenty of cousins to play with.

Fluffy work for me this weekendSad

Christmas I’m so excited to really see his face, DH will rub it in if he looks like him though.

Pixie thank youSmile. Congratulations on your job(s)!!

The rain was terrible here last night, our gardens flooded. I have a late shift tonight so today is my day of cleaning our house, and picking out baby namesGrin

CrazyBaubles · 09/08/2019 15:59

I've missed so much on this thread! I've skimmed through, mostly looking at the pics (Fluffy your veg and hiking pics look lovely and Emrys, your cross stitch is gorgeous)!

I'm currently on my big trip. We've spent a week in Canada (and saw a bear just wandering along the roadside)! We've now done Vegas and are in San Francisco for a few days before moving on. We have Vancouver and Seattle to go before we get to Alaska. Fingers crossed we see more wildlife.
Canada was sunny and warm but manageable, Vegas was like an oven.

I've bought Christmas decs from each place though (which is a tradition for us) and even found a Christmas shop (in Banff). It was beautiful -I had a good look around while DH waited outside 🙄

Looks like you're having a brilliant time, Crazy! And well done on finding the Christmas shop! 🎅🏻🎄

How long is your trip? I wouldn't be allowed that long off work! (Wouldn't want it either as lawyer + long holiday = BIG stress! Only if someone actually did my work in my absence, which doesn't happen normally, sadly.)

Liverpool just had a power cut and the trains have been mad all afternoon. Still are, especially if you're trying to get across the water.

Well done on both jobs, Pixie! What is it you do?

Soooo wet here on and off today. It properly went whoosh on my way to the station. ☔️☔️☔️

Mrsmadevans · 09/08/2019 17:54

Em we didn't have any thunder here Grin

IAintWroteNoPoetry · 09/08/2019 18:04

Crazy wow you seem to be having a great time! DHs grandparents went to Canada and said it’s the best place that they’ve ever been. The Christmas shop looks ace!.

Fluffy DHs family are from up liverpool and we’re telling us about the power cut. No rain or thunder here but the wind is insane and it’s meant to rain tonight. There’s been no summer this year, I agree with Neros, we should go straight to winter.

Mrsmadevans · 09/08/2019 18:10

Crazy have a wonderful trip m'dear, it looks amazing !

NerosFiddle · 09/08/2019 19:56

Crazy it's a small world. My DSis used to work in Banff. I have a few items from that shop.

Mrs the pain after physio is usually unbearable. I have to go every week and after nearly a year there's only been a slight improvement.

Fluffy I heard on the news that a large portion of nw England has no electricity. Trains and airports affected.

It's time for a bath and to watch some outlander.

Mrsmadevans · 09/08/2019 21:26

Nero you have been going for a year to Physio & you are only marginally better? That is awful Sad l am so sorry . The constant pain gets you down l bet Flowers

NoWordForFluffy · 09/08/2019 22:47

We've had a rock'n'roll evening in our house: I've been carrying in with my cross stitch robin and DH has been sowing Lake District patches onto the kids' rucksacks.

I'm pleased with the robin, but it's bloody fiddly!

I've been so awol! Our summer hols started at the end of June and it's been full on. Reaching breaking point now!

Finally made a start on Xmas presents though!

PrincessConsuela12 · 10/08/2019 00:15

Today I paid for my first Christmas present & organisation mode has kicked in. I spent the best part of today putting a spreadsheet together with present ideas, websites/shops to get them, cost and when I'm going to buy them... 🤦🏽‍♀️😄

My DH sent me a picture today that said 20 weeks until Christmas Eve so it's not really too early... is it?!

CrazyBaubles · 10/08/2019 04:59

Fluffy I'm having 4 weeks off work. It's been a slog but I have been a pain in the arse about making sure all my work has been delegated out - I started prepping my team at the start of June!

Neros what a coincidence! The shop was lovely, as was the whole place. Would love to live there!
Where is your dsis now? Whyever did she leave?
I'm sorry the physio isn't helping you

I'm glad you all love the Christmas shop. I seem to find them all over the place and DH always pulls the same set of faces - like this 😯😧🥴🤫😣🙄

Princess it's never too early!

I could happily do most of my Christmas shopping while we're away but as we're travelling so much we're doing 4 weeks with hand luggage only so there's no room.
I'm going to feel so behind when I get home!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2019 07:27

Morning! Terrible weather forecast today so we're going to be confined to the house I think. I might get a start on deep clean upstairs and we're going to be sorting the under stairs as well. The kids will hopefully play nicely elsewhere!

Crazy, that's good that you can delegate. Law is a weird profession in that your work is your work is your work and unless there's a crisis, nothing gets touched when you're off! When I was off sick only urgent stuff was done. I got back to the rest!

It sounds like you're having an amazing time. I'm envious!

Crazy she moved back to Toronto. The winters in Banff were really bad.

Mrs I have lot of problems that are all connected, so if the physio helps with one another part can be aggravated. I'm trying to resist having more surgery but it may be necessary.

I think it's going to be a quiet day here too. My house needs a really deep clean but I need at least a day on my own to do that.
