I will need to splash out on a electric guitar and Justin Bieber for my DC Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2019 12:58

I always tell them that once the lists are being written that you can't chop and change them.

I think I'd cope with the tea and biscuit requests though! 😂

Popped to town and bought Mum cards for birthdays and wedding anniversary before going to hers and changing her bed , showering & dressing her, doing the washing and everything else Grin . Been to knit and nat this afternoon, Mum didn't come with me , she felt in too much pain with her legs (cellulitis is brewing again have an appt with Gp Monday morning) and her shoulder & arm. She crocheted a huge blanket for knit and nat ironically Hmm which weighs really heavy and it has done her shoulder and arm in. The leader there told me to tell Mum she would finish the blanket off for her which was so kind bless her Smile.
God l hope Whaley Bridge Dam holds , have everything crossed .
Hope all ok , have been busy just come home, DH is cooking us a lovely roast dinner bless him , l can't wait . Pork chops, roast pots, broad beans and carrots , very plain fare but very tasty and yummy Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/08/2019 21:45

I think it was crocheting blankets that knackered my shoulder MrsMad so I have every sympathy with your mum.

Hope you are home safely Fluffy and preparing for a night in your own bed.

Loving the tea and biscuits for Christmas presents Nero. DS has just (this week) got into labels so I anticipate an expensive Christmas. On the positive side he is wearing some very trendy tracksuit bottoms that may give me some embarrassing photos for the future. How can he walk if his crotch is near his knees??

DD2 found out today that she has passed her foundation course with flying colours and qualifies with an enhanced bursary. Very proud of her as she has had a dreadful few months since her boyfriend dumped her and she has risen above it and worked her socks off.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2019 23:20

I'm in my bed, Woolly! It's amazing! 😁

Good job I don't crochet; my poor shoulders would never cope.

Mrs, your dinner sounds lovely.

Woolly, yay for your DD. What's she going to be teaching? And 😂😂😂 re your DS. Those trousers drive me mad!

Primary Ed Fluffy God help her!

I'm turning into my mother. I was in the shop saying to DS "Are you sure? Is this really what your friends are wearing?" No doubt if Top of The Pops was still going I'd be shouting at the TV and muttering about that awful racket 🤣

Morning. My bladder woke me again. Very annoying. The kids are asleep, thankfully. They didn't go sleep til late after a long nap in the car, so they need a lie in!

Though I need to do stuff, so need to get up. Sigh!

Allotment today. See how many courgettes we have! And beans!

Woolly, I'd think that primary is really rewarding as you're setting the groundwork for the rest of their lives. Huge responsibility, so good on her.

Morning all

How is everyone’s weather? I’ve been starting my weekend day with a swim in the sea

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/08/2019 13:43

Eurgh we have clammy muggy weather .

DD and I went to Lakeside ( mega early , she wanted a McD breakfast ) . So we pootled about a while , ate the aforementioned breakfast .

I love Lakeside at Christmas , when the decorations go up , it's lovely . We do late night shopping or mega early , (essential to preserve sanity and not be stuck on the M25)

NerosFiddle · 04/08/2019 16:10

Afternoon all.

If I thought I could get away with just a biscuit and cup of tea I would. I think they're getting confused and I was trying to explain that you leave a treat and a drink for Santa and the reindeer.

Anyway, it's been a nice day here. Sunny but a bit of a breeze. We've had breakfast and lunch in the garden so that was a bit of a novelty.

CishAndFips · 04/08/2019 21:09

Evening all. I hope your all well. Its been very busy here with the summer holidays and extra shifts but im back to my normal 3 day weeks this week. 3 weeks and 3 days until our hols whoop.

Mrsmadevans · 04/08/2019 22:28

Woolly I know! It is surprising how much damage repetitive knitting and crocheting can cause!
That is wonderful your DD passing her foundation year so well , Congratulations to her you must be thrilled Smile
Fluffy lovely for you to be back after your hols, hope you harvested loads of things from your allotment Smile
Chips that morning swim in the sea sounds lovely Smile
Hope everyone is well and weather is good [smile
Just off to bed have a good night sleep everyone.

Morning!

Back to work today. Booo! I've a feeling I'm the only fee earner working in my team this week which will be interesting!

We harvested loads, Mrs. We're overwhelmed with beans and courgette!

I think I'm taking on the allotment next to mine now too. Exciting. Or madness! 😂

Eurgh awful night. DS was awake 12:20-3 and then up for the day at 5:50. Thank heavens he is in nursery today so I can have a nap.

sideorderofchips · 05/08/2019 13:23

Afternoon all

Got all three kids advent calendars sorted now

NerosFiddle · 05/08/2019 14:10

Afternoon all.

Chips what calendars did you get? The Thomas one? I don't usually buy them except maybe a cheap chocolate one from Poundland.

I've decided I'm going to do a bit of poncing this year. I can't knit or crochet, so it'll probably be cooking or maybe making decorations.

ChristmasInJuly · 05/08/2019 14:27

Hello, hope everyone had a good weekend. I’ve been adding bits and bobs to my Christmas lists, and put a few dates in the diary already. I like to have lots of lovely festive get-togethers and outings planned for December. DS starts preschool in September and I’m wondering if they will do some sort of Nativity or Christmas concert. Will I look crazy if I ask his teacher at the settling in session next month?! Grin

ChampagneBuffet · 05/08/2019 14:45

Hey can I join? I’m on the other Christmas thread :)

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/08/2019 15:06

Crazy would be demanding he was Joseph CiJ - asking if there is going to be one is organised especially if you need to book time off. Chances are they will tell you about forthcoming events for the term but may not be able to give specific dates. You can always ask if they do Harvest Festival too as that is likely to be before half term and will dilute the crazy 😂

I'm gutting DS's room while he is on a PGL trip. Just the bed to make and the carpet to hoover. I have found about a dozen tennis/moon balls and God only knows how many bits of paper with fantasy football teams written on them. The boy is football bonkers.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/08/2019 15:07

Hello Champagne. All Christmas fans welcome.

Mrsmadevans · 05/08/2019 15:49

Fluffy that is amazing , if you want to do it then go for it Grin. l think it's wonderful for you and your family. Talk about 'The Good Life; it is more like the Fluffy life Smile good on you !
Em that is awful when they do that l hope you had a good rest while he was in nursery bless you Smile
Chips well done very organised of you indeedy omg l have to get my skates on Grin
Nero what does poncing mean though , l have never known really what it is . Is it making a huge effort over something that is normally done simply? l can't knit or crochet either Hmm
Woolly ahh that is so sweet of your DS bless him he sounds lovely Smile
Welcome Champers Grin
CIJ you are very organised m'dear !
Been to Mum's , took her to the Gp , she is down to 1 Metformin a day now and they didn't give her antibiotics for her legs , just keep an eye on them . She seems ok very sad over Dad of course, l left her with looking forward to a lovely afternoon having visitors for afternoon tea Grin lemon drizzle cake ....yummy!
